Great atmosphere, but not enjoyable. That is unless you desire some energy-cleansing palo santo blown up your nose to drown out the flavor notes of your expensive subpar cocktail. My pretend-woke bartender was also not a shining moment for this establishment; undoubtedly the rudest bartender I've ever experienced. My suggestion: find a more friendly bar, with much better cocktails, where you won't be bullied and shamed by all that millennial wisdom. read more

I don't quite get this place. It might be because of when I stopped in (a Saturday night after 9 pm). I was at a show nearby that let out early and wanted to grab a drink or two, sit and chill before my ride was able to pick me up in an hour or so. Judging by other reviews and details, I was under the impression this was an old-school, "classy" bar with craft cocktails and a good selection of spirits. And...it kind of is or could be if it committed to that. It's dimly lit and open, very interesting layout. However seating is extremely limited. I only spotted a couple of actual bar seats and a handful of booths. There's a big open area that could be a dance floor--there was a DJ spinning records but literally no one was dancing. I made my way to the bar and ordered a four roses on the rocks--they have a wide variety of bourbons at very fair prices--the bartender was friendly and quick. Once I had my drink I had nowhere to sit, so I made my way to the wall at the edge of the semi-dancefloor. Leaning against it, it seemed to be fake wood and/or particle board? My drink was good and I wanted to try another pour of something else, so I did but still had nowhere to chill so back to my corner I went. I moved along after that. Bartenders were friendly as mentioned, prices are fair on spirits (typically Nashville hotspot overpriced for "craft" cocktails). Just an odd vibe. It feels like they want to be a dance club in an old-fashioned "mature" bar but are not fully succeeding at either. Note--they only have a small number of beers, so plan to stick to wine or liquor. Cool atmosphere, good variety of drinks, and nice servers. We came for jazz on a Monday night and the space was small but with huge high ceilings, the first seating area where the band plays felt very intimate and their booths had a lot of privacy for guests. I got the el maiz dos which had corn cream and coconut - very smooth and creamy would probably order it again, if I didn't want to try more of their cocktails! Overall, enjoyable spot with pretty good drinks, definitely a wide variety of flavors in their drinks so there are good options for everyone. read more

An old boiler room, one of the neatest bars I've been to in the Nashville area. The professional mixologists (or bartenders if you want to be a deck about it) make some of the best drinks I ever had! For about $12-13 you get a top notch bougie drink that has numerous ingredients id never think of. You could go up the street to Broadway and pay $9 for a Bud light if that's your schtick. I found the place with the gold triangle ..came in to good mix of 90s music. Nice rustic speakeasy vibe with a twist. Went to the bar to chill. Convo with a couple of regulars and they introduced me to the bartender Will. Will was kick ass! He made me a Paper Plane at 1st and then I told him to make me whatever he wanted with Bourbon. He made me a different version of an Old Fashioned. Conversation was chill with the staff and patrons at the bar. He was efficient and held good convo. I can tell he knows his thing. We popped in the night before Halloween and enjoyed a drink before heading home. The space is absolutely stunning, super tall ceilings and industrial features from its former use. We snagged a seat looking over the bar area and ordered a couple drinks. I ordered a lavender lemon cocktail and my husband ordered the nixta corn themed cocktail. I loved mine, it was refreshing with a little thickness. My husband enjoyed his cocktail but it is definitely a speciality cocktail. Service was great, with costumed staff coming to take our order. This place is SO COOL! My boyfriend and I found it easy to find, and once we got seated, our server (didn't catch his name) was so spunky and fun! I ordered an amoretto sour (I am not an alcohol fan but this is the one drink I enjoy), but he recommended a mangoey drink to me to try first-- it was AMAZING. I would've overlooked it on the menu due to not being very adventurous with alcohol. My boyfriend loved his White Russians and his pickle shot, and my amaretto was perfect. The one downside is they don't serve meals, so you need to either snack before or after you arrive. We did get the mozzarella grilled cheese sandwich, and it was super tasty! Absolutely loved my time at Old Glory, especially taking some cool pictures of some cool drinks. The ambiance was very unique and I personally love the speakeasy vibe going on. Pros: - Super cool hidden entrance. Go enjoy some tacos at Taco Mamacita or some Italian at Bella Napoli, then head on over and find the signless entrance. - Unique drinks. This place will introduce you to something new. - Decor/physical space is cool. It feels really industrial and rustic, which goes well with the fact that it is a hidden venue. - Very friendly staff. We had a waitress who helped us get a table and was super helpful throughout the time we were there. Cons: - Only one food item. I've been to other bars that are on the higher end side but they do have more smaller plates or desserts. I was disappointed to see that they didn't have much of a selection. - Super dimly lit - I was there on a Saturday night, and it got very, very loud. Louder than what I would expect a bar like this to be - Limited seating Overall, I love Old Glory. This bar is awesome. You definitely need to go. We visited Old Glory from a friends' recommendation and went a second time even on our short trip to Nashville. I think we tried four or six different beverages on our visits and my favorite was the green cucumber drink. If you like pressed juices it is fantastic and delivers a great kick in the shorts. The servers and bartenders were fantastic and we loved the hosts each night too. Very great place to visit and we will be back! read more

My bartender Nick made this experience. We came on a Saturday at 1pm. There were very few people here but Nick had the energy that made the experience enjoyable. He made a custom drink called the velvet frost that was refreshing. I dont like celery and he made celery bitters taste good. Any questions i asked about drinks or liquors he had on the bar, he either made samples or let me try them. I dont expect this happens all the time, but it made for a great saturday afternoon. From quiet speakeasy to all out club with a pop up drag show, old Glory has it all! This LGBTQ friendly spot was a surprise find while waiting for dinner at nearby Barcelona Wine Bar. You walk into what looks like a tiny brick Steele plant with vaulted ceilings and Steele beams. There are elevated sitting areas all over and a balcony space making for multiple dimensions of seating. The vibe was a quiet cocktail spot with great craft cocktails but boy did that change upon our next visit! We came our second time with a friend in town hoping to show them the cool spot that we stumbled upon. This night the vibe had totally changed and old glory transformed into an all out dance club with DJ and long bar lines, still cool though. Much to our surprise there was also a pop up drag show with two queens working the staircase and working the crowd. I love that despite visiting this spot twice we were treated to two very different experiences, both of which I look forward to having again! read more

While it's easy to speak easy at this speak easy because the music is at an easily listenable volume, what must not be easy is maintaining this giant room in which this bar sits. It is easily the first thing you'll notice. You'll walk in through an alley to find the entrance, which was hard to find at first. However if you're with a group of bachelorette girls or belmont students, y'all will chirp with giddy wonder at the satisfaction of accomplishing such a goal as finding this place. One will moan "is this the right place" and another will respond "it's an adventure!" and everyone else around you will cry tears of boredom. Where this place truly shines is from the purpose which it purports; drinks. They're great. They aren't weak, thank god, and they're properly made. Haven't tried the food, will report back. Good design, nice Happy Hour, Loud Music So I have been wanting to go to Old Glory for the longest time (I don't usually spend much time in Edgehill anymore) but I finally made it - I had such a great GNO! Obviously it is fun to find the triangle entrance (take out of town guests too). The old boiler room with the smoke stack is really cool. I love that it is a female owned business and not a huge hospitality group. The bar is small so it was nice to go early when it wasn't crowded. The bartender was nice but it isn't really an experience (like discussing drinks or being told about the venue) but it is fun to watch the creations being made. I had the French 75 and it was very light..my friend had the margarita and she said it was fine but not great. The Daiquiri looked really good and I would love to try it next time. I wanted a snack or dessert but there isn't really a food menu just empanadas so plan on going to Taco Mamacita or Barcelona before or after for dinner! The staircase is a great photo opt with friends or get a photo strip upstairs. The music was way too loud for a weekday happy hour..lower the music so we can gab! One of my friends said it is really fun on the weekends with the DJ but honestly I enjoyed not having to battle a crowd for a drink. The candles are a nice touch especially if you are on a date...but the place seemed very dark. I would definitely recommend taking visitors or going for happy hour. There is no parking lot but there was free street parking nearby. Overall a cool concept but I would recommend trying Black Rabbit or the Patterson House first... read more

Fantastic vibe, drinks, and service. We were on a waitlist to grab dinner at another place in Edgehill Village and asked the host where we could grab a close drink as we waited. She told us about Old Glory and we went to check it out. It's got a great speakeasy vibe and I love the repurposed industrial interior. It's unassuming on the outside, but just a great place all around once you're in with great music, dark lighting, and an eclectic design. We were seated by a host -- not sure if this is specific to covid times, but I really enjoyed that they did this. It felt safe and intimate to have our own space. The service was fantastic and the server took her time to give recommendations and ask about what types of drinks we like. Sometimes when we go to places like this, the fanciness of the cocktail menu overtakes the actual taste of the cocktails, but this was not the case here. They had impeccably crafted cocktails with carefully combined ingredients, but that were off-off-the-charts tasty. Rustic bar repurposed the old factory and turned into a bar hidden in ally behind Barcelona. PROS: perfect bar for a "blind date" since it's so dark you can't even see each other's faces. This place is cool. Like really cool. I'm from St. Louis and read about Old Glory on the Southwest Airlines Magazine while on a flight a couple months ago. I really wanted to check it out, especially because it's women-owned and an old boiler room. A boiler room, people! I brought my cousin who's a local with me this weekend. He was kind of skeptical and it had been a long day, but I even got him to admit that this place was cool. My cocktail was good and many of the drinks sounded really unique. The music was fantastic! Kudos to the DJ. The turn-up was real. Maybe it was because of the bad weather outside, but the place wasn't overflowing with people, for which I was grateful.
