This Old Navy has been here forever. I'm not a huge fan of the Old Navy/Gap in store experience because it tends to be kind of slow, but this is better than the other standalone location in the area. There are always plenty of options and sizes available for men, women and children. read more

I do like to shop at Old Navy for my casual and gym clothes, so yes, I always stop by this store when I'm at the mall. When Old Navy has a sale, you can get many items at bargain prices. Lately, I also discovered their baby clothing line and some of them are really cute. I love baby girl clothes so I couldn't resist getting a few and save for gifting. Service is good and you can always return if things don't work out. They're nice and pleasant. I order online most of the times for my size and as we all know, they don't always fit perfectly at home as well as we see them in their dressing rooms mirror. ;) The associates are helpful here. They will locate your size and remind you to enter your phone number for your rewards points. read more

Shoutout to the manager Ariel and team! This old navy location is located inside the Mission Viejo mall. Ariel was friendly, checked in on us a few times, and helped look up prices since this location doesn't have a price scanner for shoppers to use. The store and fitting rooms were tidy! Shout out to the wonderful employee at the cash register for helping me return an item that didn't have a tag but it has the tag, I purchased the sweater for my friend in NYC, a little to big on her but my friend misplace the receipt which is fine, I got my card. Well for some reason the number was missing one and didn't match the one that was on my card, manager step in and eventually found what was wrong and even thought it took a while, they got me my refund without any problems. Not on their end, I also have a picture of the receipt on the FETCH app so thank god I had a back up picture. Just a tip if anyone is reading this about future returns, if you pay via tap, and when you want to do the return, you gotta make sure you paid it via apple pay or google pay, or the CARD tap cause the machine, is going to refund to which ever you use it on. I didn't know that, I just thought apple pay was the same as my card but it wasn't. Not a big deal, just wanted to pass along for future reviewers who are reading this. P.S. I like shopping at stores okay, and Old Navy is one of them because their selections of clothes ranges and have ya'll seen their Christmas pjs selection??? They even have a whole family set on which one day that would be me and my future husband and kids. Staff: Disappointed by their service from the moment we got in line. Multiple employees available but they ignored the line. The line grew to a few people and still we waited. Finally a girl came over and said "I can help you". Also, after paying I was told, "you're all set". I kinda prefer an old fashioned Thank you. Quality/Quantity: Standard store that is clean, well stocked, and with lots of options. Value: Prices are always fair here Overall: Would I return, perhaps but more likely go to the Spectrum instead. We are so grateful he arranged for us to work with Abby and Samantha who are kind, efficient, and knowledgeable. These three employees are assets to your business and represent Old Navy extremely well. They were much nicer and more willing to help than the Spectrum store or the Laguna Niguel store. (Both stores are closer to home than MV.) We hope new Old Navy clothes will be well received and we are appreciative of the value and quality. I have never gave a 1 star to any business,and I almost feel terrible having to do so but this review is long overdue and it must be done. Too many chances given and the same mistakes are always reoccurring. Old Navy is known for affordable clothing at amazing prices. It has been one of my routine stops every time I visit the Shops Of MV. I generally shop here for my kids who are always growing in sizes and Old Navy is great for basic school and casual wear. However..It never fails....Every shopping visit, as you enter, there are always a pleather of signs marking a certain percentage off or a specific price marked on the racks. Most times also, all the employees are at the cashier making it impossible to get any help. However today was my first visit back to the Mall in what seems forever since Covid hit the world. I Walked into Old Navy and of course all the Sale signs and percentage signage are up. I grab 2 dresses that the whole rack clearly had a sign of $8 and found some leggings with a sign that said 40% . Went to the register and SAME SITUATION. The items are not on sale and when the employee scans them they are regular price. He then says it is my mistake and those items must have been misplaced onto the wrong rack. I explained that there is a Whole rack of the dresses clearly marked for $8 and suggest that an employee should remove the sign to prevent this from happening to someone else. He basically was speechless and I offered a tip since I used to work in Corporate Retail. Tip: When moving merchandise and stock around the floor, adjust the sale signs accordingly to prevent this situation from always occuring. Always check the signs daily! In general, many other customers may not be as calm and forgiving as I was. The Sale signs are very misleading and its false advertising! Overall I do not mind paying whatever the price is. It is the whole principal that the business and employees should be properly trained to adjust the prices accordingly and not advertise a false price. read more

Chances are you've shopped at Old Navy. This one is located inside the Shops at Mission Viejo. I have a closer location near me but I had ordered a scarf online and this was the only one that had it in the store for pickup. I like having the option because you don't need to spend a minimum to qualify for shipping and you know which store has it for pick-up at your convenience. There was only one cashier at the front helping people and despite "bypassing" the line, I had to wait for someone to actually help me. This Old Navy knows how to give great customer experiences! The store is very well organized compared to most of the other links in this chain I've been to. As the weather gradually warms up here in sunny Southern California, my daughter needed a few more pairs of black skorts to complete her preschool uniform. My family and I were already at the Mission Viejo Mall to shop at the Apple Store, so we decided to give Old Navy a second chance since they were currently running a sale on children's clothing according to their front display windows. My husband had noticed that they were running a sale on their children's jeans, but I was quick to remind him of my recent experience with her two pairs of black jeans I had purchased a couple months back with the horrible rubber stench smell in them. He sniffed a couple different pairs of blue jeans and told me that he couldn't smell rubber, but even though it seemed like a good deal I decided against it and would hold off. It seriously took me six or seven washes to get the rubber stench to fade from the last couple of pairs. I could always pick up another pair of blue Levis for her on our next trip to Costco or another children's store. The skorts and skirts weren't on sale, but I picked up one pair of skorts for her, which seems to work just fine. They look pretty comfortable for an active little girl. They are made from 100% cotton and have held their shape well through its first few sets of washes and drying cycles. Their children sizes tend to run a little large for my daughter, which is great because the clothes should last her through the Spring and Summer seasons easily. If they run a sale on their children's Spring and Summer wear I may just pick up another pair or two. My daughter and I shopped her early morning 1/21/2023 the floor staff ladies were super helpful helping us find baggy leg jeans when we showed her a picture of my daughters style she pointed right to them. Then when we were checking out the young woman at check out was the sweetest! My daughter bought 2 items with her own money and the cashier made her feel so important:) items in stock and store in great condition. Usually this is a good location. For a small space, they still have a decent inventory. However, sometimes the place is just a disaster zone. Clothing everywhere, long lines, not an employee to be found (other than behind a register). I would suggest just taking a peak at the check out line before deciding to make any purchases here. So I recently arrived in California as part of a gaming event I attended and stopped by in SoCal to pick up some clothing. I had a great customer service experience with an employee called Brooke. She managed to accommodate my small frame nicely and made me a very happy gamer! I would rate this store a 5 red stars (not a good design mechanic as the red symbolizes a negative connotation which may not give the best of first impressions, though I understand this is a problem with this website and not this store (who's laughing now Yelp)). Overall, as a 4 foot 11 man, I can find clothes shopping a difficult endevour, however with the persistence of your kind female employee Brooke I was excellently taken care of. Terrible Customer Service!!! It's Dec 29th so you would think everybody working the cash register would know how to do sales and returns in a fairly efficient manner. They DON'T at this location! There is a huge line, only 2 cashiers and 1 of them appears to be brand new. It is painful to watch her take 10+ minutes on simple transaction and she looks like a deer in headlights. The other guy is quick and getting people in and out of his line. She asks him to help her on every transaction. It's finally my turn but I get the new girl. It is painful to stand there and watch her fumble with a simple return and sale of 3 items. Corrine comes and opens a new register next to hers and the girl asks her to help through every step of my transaction. I finally say to Corrine "can you help me because this is torture waiting for this transaction" Corrine kindly replies in a sassy rude fashion "it is the holidays and we are busy and she is new" "you can wait or leave" WOW, you just told me to leave! Really? Here's a hint. Hire someone competent. Train them for several days before leaving them at the register on the holidays. Then when someone complains you should come up with a better answer than we are busy and leave if you don't like it. I don't need $5 pajamas that bad. I will never shop at this location again and I suggest a little customer service training from Old Navy Managers to the staff would be helpful! read more

I called December 20, 2021 at about 6:15pm to find out if they had some items in-store that were on their site that I wanted to purchase for my family and friends... and the EXTREMELY rude lady that was answering kept hanging up the phone immediately after she answered it! I called 4 times in a row and she repeatedly hung up in my face as I started to speak. How unbelievably unprofessional!! The customer service at Old Navy is horrible. One woman in particular that stands out was Yasmine. She was not friendly to me at all. She also seemed to not care about her job, and I still don't see why she works there because it has happened to me frequently. I also have seen her at work at her other old job - The Boys and Girls Club. there she lost 9 kids in 2 weeks. She also threatened a leader and said she would kick her butt. This Old Navy is a lot bigger than the one at Spectrum. It also has something the one at Spectrum does not, a maternity section. Unfortunately, this section only consist of about 3 different outfits none of which are cute. Just for $hits and giggles I tried on a pair of regular cut size 2 maternity jeans. These things were falling off of me and my pre-pregnancy size is a 4-6. Not cool. On the flip side the staff is super friendly and the girl helped me right over to their one little rack of maternity clothes. They also have a decent selection of toddler clothes for my little pumpkin with prices low enough I will not even give him the stink eye if he ruins them. read more

I know it's hard to keep a retail clothing store pristine but I frequent this store (2-4 times a month, my kids or myself) and usually always the clearance is crazy messy. Particularly the xxl area, it seems to be a dump for anyone who doesn't want to actually put any other size away. Today is my first time needing to comment. One, the flustered nature of the employees was noteable...why? Because for the many employees running around frantically there were as many employees huddled around in the dressing room area clucking about how cute they looked for going out later.... FOUR people. Kind of a shame considering I did see people literally running and hustling needing help. Two, I found an item without a tag for sale. In a hard to find size. Obviously an online order, because the stores don't carry it. Fine enough because as long as the item has a manufacturer tag they can search the tag. So we take the item up and apparently it's so far out of season it's item number has phased out of their system. The cashier, Ari, said they can't sell it if that happens but he can ask a manager. He asks a manager, he says, and that no they cannot sell me the item. I say, well it's unfortunate because it's a hard to find size and I'd really like to purchase the item (you know, rather than what? Throw it out???). He tells me that there's nothing they can do and if I wanted to wait that they could call corporate to find out what to do and get me a price but it would take a long time and maybe if they get an answer I could just come back and pick it up tomorrow. (The "just" part really bugs me.... It's not "just" anything for him...it's my time, money to drive and we'll... patience being spent) He made it really clear, it wouldn't be worth it for me to wait, by repeatedly saying so in not as many words. I said, I'd really not mind waiting because it's hard to find stuff in my size and I really wanted the pants. "Yeah but I'm leaving so just go finish whatever you're doing here at the mall and someone else can call you later and you can come back here and get them." *Deep breath* I tell him I'll wait outside in the seats because we only came to the mall to go to Old Navy. *Blink* I get a call from him a couple minutes later that corporate told him he can only sell it to me for the price that it originally sold for?? Whenever that actually was??? " So 39.99. 40 bucks.... For out of season clearance? Really?" I say. And he responds, "yes. 39.99 is what they said we can sell it to you for if you want them." "So corporate told you to sell me a clearance item so old it has no number at the price it sold for originally?" "Yes", he says. Yeah, no. It's the principle of the thing by now. I wasn't alone, I wasn't the only one who vibed his attitude as dismissive. He just wanted me to go away. So I make a call to the manager who at first tries to tell me well if that's what corporate said then that's what it is. And so I ask, " I was under the impression that online exclusive returns are usually 50% off." "Well yes that's usually true." So then HOW is corporate telling dear Ari to sell me seasons old merch for the full price??? So he says he'll give me 50% off. Ah but I've now reached my car with my family and have gotten to the freeway.....so he offers me 75% and a nice snippy tone to boot for free. Nah...no thanks. It's the principle.....the same manager was at the front being told about this as I walked off to wait....I saw and heard him be told. He knew. So thanks for playing a paying customer. I'm not returning. I usually hit this mall because it allows for us to hit a few stores at once that all my kids like. I'll go elsewhere. I said it to the manager and I'm saying it here for corporate to hopefully see, I may just be one customer but we shop for a family of 6. And I will put my money where my mouth is, for the principle of the matter. I will absolutely go out of my way to find another comparable shopping venue just to not give this Old Navy my money. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Their signage is completely misleading and when you try to discuss it with the manager, an unpleasant lady named Jen, you get no where. She gives some horribly thought out excuse for the signs and you can tell she doesn't even believe what she's telling you but just doesn't want to make it right by giving you just a tiny bit of a discount like the signs imply. Her only cashier at the time even went so far as to say that "she doesn't get paid enough for this" and to me that means she is so beaten down by a horrible manager who can't actually manage and she's left getting yelled at for things beyond her control that her manager, again Jen, won't hold herself accountable for either. I now understand why the whole company (gap, banana, and old navy) are drowning. You not only lost my sale (almost 100 bucks) but you now lost a loyal customer. I do not recommend shopping at this particular store if you want any pleasant experience. And the manager needs to go back for a course in customer service (from one to another). read more

Really mad right now I always shop at this location and just had a run in with the manager Thania this is the first time I see her. I spend my time looking in the clearance section about 20 min when I finally found a good deal. I take it I walk up to the cashier to pay my merchandise when she is ringing me up one of the tops come up at 24.99 when it clearly said 6.97 and she she would not honor that price. I was like what the tag clearly says 6.97 she was like no sorry I can't give it to you. Really I just spend 20 minutes to walk out with nothing. I am actually not a fan of Old Navy clothes. I find that the fact that they are inexpensive is directly correlated to the quality of their clothes. Think of it this way: Usually items that retail around $10-$15 usually last 2-3 uses. After a few washes, the material starts to degrade. Cotton balls up, loses it shape or the thread starts to unravel. Sure you looked good 1 or 2 times and if you are looking for a one time outfit, Old Navy is perfect. However, Old Navy thrives off of being a staple for every day clothing. Meaning: you buy anchor items that you should be able to wear on a daily basis, except they never last that long and you end up having to buy the same items over and over again. What started out as $10 is now $50 and you only have 1 item to show for it. Their clothes are like crack, you buy it once and you have to keep coming back because you are convinced their inexpensive prices are worth it. Why spend $10 on a shirt you will wear once or twice, having to eventually give it away, when you can save that same $10 and apply that to something that will last much longer. There is a book called, "A Framework For Poverty" that explains this very thinking. It's better to be a long term thinker and being a long term thinker is what will help you step out of that poverty mentality of satisfying your immediate urge to buy that shirt at $10 that won't see the light of day in a week. That's not the point though. I am actually writing this to make a case for their Moisture Wicking Compression Leggings. If ever I found a good deal, this would be it. Retailing at about $22.94, $12 if you can get them during one of their sales, the quality versus the price is unmatched by any workout pants I have ever tried. Being a fitness buff, I have tried numerous "moisture-wicking" workout pants. Who knows what that even means? All I care about is how long they last, are they flattering? and are they super expensive? I am telling you from personal experience that these are THE BEST pants you will ever buy. Both quality wise and price wise. Lululemon pants (a much as I love them) are a joke compared to the price and quality of these compression pants. I have had the same pair of compression pants for over 3 years now and I just recently bought new ones because I lost a lot of weight. I have spent $100+ on one pair of Lulu pants that never saw it past 1 month. The quality started to degrade after only a few washes. I was able to get 6 pairs during their Black Friday Sale for the price of 1 pair of Lulu pants. Cheaper even. Their variety is also what I love about their Compression Pants. Great selection of flattering colors. Even though I only by the black ones for going out and the grey ones for working out, I still like that if I change my mind, Old Navy has my back. After about 3 years, they do start to lose their stretch but $12 for something that lasts 3 years? Now THAT is hitting the jackpot. I would also be careful about washing them with towels, as the lint attaches to the fabric but that was more of a silly mistake on my end. Styles are incredibly flattering. I always get the capri leggings because I'm short and they look cute and can be worn whether you are working out or just want to appear like you've been at the gym all day. They really shape your butt and they aren't see-through like most pants. I use them to sleep in, lounge in, go out in and of course for what they are made for, which is working out. What I love most about them is that they make me look so slim AND I have seen a difference in terms of their selling point, which is the compression aspect of these pants. I do feel like they have tightened my legs a bit because as you are losing weight, your skin does tend to get loose and I do feel that these keep things tight. These pants have seen every single triumph and set back that I have experienced in the last 3 years. Which has really been the most pivotal point in my fitness journey. They've seen me through my first 5K, losing and gaining those last 10 lbs., countless sleep overs and who knows how many shopping runs to Target. You will never find a better deal than these compression leggings. I will never buy any other pants because these simply are the best. Now, I know I am supposed to be reviewing the store itself, which this location is fine, but Old Navy is a corporate chain in which all stores are cookie cutter. Staff is always nice, selections are the same but their stand out product, in my eyes, really is their compression leggings. read more

I work at another store in the mall, and literally EVERY time I work (no, I am not exaggerating) at least 5 customers will make our alarm system go off because they have an Old Navy bag that hasn't been checked for censors. I am getting the impression that they just don't care!! They have customers that are being sent home with censors on their clothes, and then have to go all the way back to get them removed. This is absolutely ridiculous!! Also, sometimes I get friendly service... by the few people that know that I am a mall employee. But for the most part, I barely get a hello, even when I'm looking for a size on a table that a employee is folding at, not even two feet away from me. How about a little help? Old Navy Mission Viejo has consistently terrible customer service, but today they lost me as a customer completely. I will take the drive to Irvine or continue to order online (I am a Gap Silver customer). Upon opening the door (I was there before 10am) the employee did not greet or even smile at the few customers waiting to enter. That should have been a great indicator for me. I let her know I had a return, it was an online return on my gap card. She first questioned if it had been worn. Um, no. My son didn't like the scratchy material of the shorts. She looked it up and said I was past the 45 day return time and she could only issue me a 4.99 credit (i paid 20$!) that would arrive in 10 days. I said no and went online and looked up my order history. Turns out I was 2 days over the limit. (And, that doesn't even take into consideration that when you order online your package doesn't arrive for 7-10 days.) Okay, I get it rules are rules, but there are always exceptions! I went back to the register to tell her I was over by 2 days, could she make an exception? She could have cared less. No customer service skills. I asked for a manager, the girl standing next to her then joined in the conversation to tell me she wasn't there. I asked when she would be and she responded "probably in a couple hours". When I worked in retail many many years ago we had schedules and knew when our managers would arrive. Maybe times have changed.... Well, now I had 2 employees who could care less about customer service hassling me about a simple return. So, I stepped outside and called Gap.com online services and kindly they issued me a free return labels to return my item full price and stated that YES the ON employee COULD HAVE done the return for the full amount using my order history that I had pulled up on my phone. Point being, she did not want or care to have good customer service. They even apologized that the item did not meet me expectation! I then went over to Gap to do a return for the same order placed on 7/10. 2 days over again. Guess what?! NO HASSLE! The long time, well known sales associate there has EXCELLENT customer service skills and is reasonable and smart. Return done!! In under 5 minutes! NO HASSLE! Wow! Guess where I will be shopping from now on? Bye bye Old Navy!! Your cheap clothes and terrible customer service are not worth my precious time. Clean store. 1 star. Clothes always folded and displayed another star. Time it took to have the girl ring up ten items FIFTEEN MINUTES: that's the reason for two stars. After I declined the credit card offer of an Old navy card she then stated flatly "that's okay I really don't want to try harder anyway." We were the only people in like and because she took forever I watched at least 12 sets of customers pile up behind us who enjoyed our long wait too. I was shocked when they cut the store in half years back but it's for the better.
