I normally shop at the Maurice's in DeKalb IL but I was in the area of this Maurice's and had a…read moresimple return. I had planned on keeping the top but then I seen they had a size that fits me better available online so I ordered that one. The tags are still on my top that I wanted to return. The robotic store manager barked at me when I entered the shop asking if I had a return. I proceeded to browse then found nothing else so I went to the counter to process my return. The same robot was waiting on me and barked at me that I couldn't return without an order number. I asked her if she could look it up with my Maurice's card and she rolled her eyes and said "NOOOO". She was making me so uncomfortable because she kept barking over and over "order number....I just need an order number!!" I was trying to find it in my email and she started whispering to one of the other clerks about me. I walked out without a word and know from now on I'll stick to the shop in DeKalb where I've never been treated rudely at all.

However, on February 14th I went in to buy a pair of pants and a shirt and saw a lady with blonde hair loudly criticizing one of her co-workers. Apparently, the blonde haired employee did not like the way her co-worker handled a situation. The way the lady was speaking , she seemed to be a store manager or other form of management personnel. I understand employees can make mistakes but whenever there is an opportunity for coaching like what I witnessed, leadership should ALWAYS take an employee to the back AWAY from the customers. Not only is this common courtesy but the proper way to provide feedback. To witness the employee being ridiculed in front of everyone made me so utterly upset I had to leave the store right away. I couldn't imagine how that worker must be feeling inside and I am disappointed with the upper management at Maurice's. They need to do better by treating their employees with the respect they deserve. To be honest, I regret not speaking up that day and standing up for the employee.

The staff is always helpful and patient. My daughter is only 11 and quite thin so she's usually a size XS or 0, we always find an employee willing to walk us around to show us all the new stuff they have in my daughters size, then they take it and set up a fitting room for her....sorta makes my daughter feel special as you don't get this type of service at most stores these days. As for the bad reviews saying the service is not good or employees are rude have have never once encountered that type of problem at this location.

The staff was courteous and accommodating. When I mentioned that I was looking for a handbag, she graciously showed me their variety. Everything appears to be really cool and has a fair and acceptable pricing, with some items even being on sale. I was about to pay after selecting a bag when I became intrigued by their watch and footwear selections, both of which are highly recommended. Whenever I'm at this mall, I stop in to check out what kind of great sales or cute clothes Garage has to offer. Recently I bought a purple top that was on sale from $25, down to $10. I am far prior to that stage of life and am here to tell you that this store has much about it to like. For one thing, their habit of cutting tops and jackets in loose, boxy shapes is improving; styles are looking more fitted in recent times, so that quilted jacket doesn't look like it could double as a microwave cozy. I particularly love the Travelers line: skirts, dresses and so on made of a microfiber that doesn't wrinkle, so you can wad it up and throw it in a suitcase and it will forgive you. I've had a skirt from this line for several years that's calf length and printed with bold flowers; it still looks stylish, i get compliments on it all the time, it flows beautifully and no wrinkles! Chico's really has great jewelry: if you like big, bold, unique and interesting pieces, check it out. I was told recently that they got a new buyer and their style is being reflected in the jewelry choices. Along with jewelry I will include accessories: I am not normally a belt person, but I found a FABULOUS metal-accented belt there that I have been wearing with various skirts and jeans; quite literally, every time I have worn it I've gotten at least one compliment on it, generally more, and I love it, so it was definitely a worthwhile purchase. I bought a second belt but it didn't quite work (stiffness made for difficult adjustment, and also it just didn't sit right on the couple of pants that I was going to wear it with), so I had to return it. Easiest and fastest return I ever had to make anywhere, so the staff is to be commended. The staff is to be commended in general for personable and efficient service. Jeanine helped me both on my shopping day and today when I made my return, so kudos to her for good work. The downsides here: price range is on the high side. Also, they have a weird size scale, (0,1,2 & 3, with some half sizes on some items), so it takes a bit of work to determine where you may fall. Overall, unique pieces and friendly service add up to a nice shopping experience. Though I am on the younger end of their clientele, I will check out Chico's particularly for unusual jewelry, accessories and the Travelers line.

The one attached to the mall feels like a madhouse with the narrow aisles and big shopping carts. This one you have two different size shopping carts and it's more spacious. Parking lot is ample. The products are placed neatly on the shelves vs the other location. I do have to take off a star for customer service. We stood in line for a few minutes and most of the employees were just standing around talking. Only two were actually working. One stopped talking to check us out, by that time the line got longer. It's easier if they just clear the line instead of letting it build up.
