A couple weeks ago Dear Hubby and I were coming back from an event in Ojai. I suggested that we stop at Pacific View Mall to get some walking in - it was cold and dark outside, so brisk mall walking is one of our fitness activities this time of year. He was actually having a foot issue, so decided to sit in the food court area and wait for me. As I was moving through the downstairs portion of the center, I came upon Old Navy. They'd been aggressively advertising that the whole store was 40% off (this was before Black Friday). I decided to drop in and see if there was anything worthwhile for the Christmas gift list. I did find some items as gifts. They carry some pro sports logo t-shirts, so I got a Lakers one for DH, as it was also close to his birthday. That was a lucky find. I also got a pair of really nice leggings and a jacket to complement - for my ongoing fitness journey. They've washed very well / am super happy with those purchases. The rest are waiting for Christmas to debut, but overall I am pleased with the merchandise. Why only three stars then? The store was not very clean. There was various debris on the floors; definitely enough to be noticeable and off-putting. Also, they only had one cashier working with a line growing. I caught the eye of an employee who was working on one of the display racks and asked her if there were more cashiers. She did come over and start checking. With all the television advertising they do, having enough staff to take care of the customers would be a good idea. Having someone push a broom around would also be welcome.

    There's always a good sale!

This is my go to location! It's always organized and the staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint is...sometimes the line to purchase your items can be a little long and slow moving.

This Old Navy is located in the Pacific View Mall in Ventura. It is located conveniently across from Macys and is a large, open and clean location. I come here for their long-length jeans. It is very hard for me to find any other stores that regularly carry jeans in a cut that flatters me, and also long length for my height (I'm 6' tall). The staff at this location is polite and professional and the store has a good selection of styles and colors. They also have a pretty big section for clearance merchandise, and that's always fun to look through - usually it's the stuff from the previous season/theme. It's mid-summer right now and there are bathing suits up front for full price, and some in the back already, on clearance. The fitting rooms for this location are in the middle of the store, and I don't like that set-up as much as when they have them at the back, but it works. An employee sets you up in a fitting room and takes any unwanted merchandise when you're done. Overall, this is a convenient shopping experience and I enjoy coming here.

Old Navy is its own store...that is the best way to put it. This particular Old Navy is no different. Its right near the entrance of the Pacific View Mall in Ventura. It just recently underwent a whole-store remodel. The jury is still out on the remodel...I don't know if the store really needed it, but hey I guess it looks nice. The fitting rooms are now in the middle of the store instead of way in the back, that is kind of a nice touch. When I am at Pacific View shopping for anything else I always end up stopping by this Old Navy to check out what they have. I love their short sleeve button up shirts and the thing that always bring me back here is the clearance. That is my thing about Old Navy...when they put something on clearance they really put it on clearance. For example a pair of shorts that might have been 19 or 20 bucks is 5 bucks on clearance. That is totally worth my time to stop by and check everything out. I do find that I need to try everything on...for some odd reason it seems like Old Navy's sizes tend to vary with different types of garments. Not the biggest fan of those commercials with the talking mannequins but hey that wont stop me from shopping for bargains, right? :0)

I've been to many markets and collaboratives like this one and truly I love them. I love being able to have variety and finding a bunch of cool creative finds in one spot. However, I wasn't wowed today by the selection and more so the prices seemed pretty steep for downtown Ventura. The positives are that this shop is open and inviting. I really appreciated the outdoor sign as it made this spot easy to find from the Main Street. I appreciated that the merchandise wasn't crowded and the store was easy to navigate. Also the gal working behind the register was so sweet! I had no issues with service here and vibes were friendly. What it really came down to for me was my own personal styles/tastes and the prices being relatively high. Having been to many markets such as this one I just didn't find the assortment to be tailored to my likes as much. Some of the items here didn't seem fresh and look like items I've seen many times over at other collectives. Long story to say nothing screamed out to me as "super cool" or "I need to have it" Also the prices just seemed high on some of the items. A $25 hair clip? If I wanted to pay those prices I'd go to Anthropologie. At an artist collective in a spot like Ventura I wasn't expecting LA prices. I totally understand the prices are likely determined by the artists but when prices are generally high it steers people away. Unless you have deep pockets, it's not super affordable for me. I want to support local and am willing to pay but the quality and uniqueness has to be there. I knew I wasn't alone when I watched a guy and gal next to me look at a clothing price tag and immediately kept moving. Yes, this is a great place to browse. I appreciated the friendly service. But I wanted to shop so maybe the current inventory just isn't for me. I stand behind the effort of what this spot is and I'd definitely check this spot out in a few months to see what the inventories like then and to see if there are more affordable items.

Home goods and gifts this store really has it all. I also appreciate the layout and that items are kind of categorized by theme or item. For example, where I first walked in they had two tables filled with beachy items. Pillows, wall decor, stickers, mugs, candles you name it. Really convenient when you have a theme or idea in mind and they have an entire table dedicated to those items. In the back were the cutest and softest baby clothes. Some of my friends have had little ones and I will definitely be back to shop for them. For myself I'm coming back for some super cozy sweaters - it's just too hot right now and at almost $50 a pop, it wasn't a need. The prices range. Some items seem reasonable and others are slightly overpriced in my opinion BUT the convenience of getting so many cute things all in one spot makes worth paying a little more okay in my eyes as it's a one stop shop. Lastly the staff are nice here. Everyone says hello and they greet you with good vibes. They are helpful but don't hover. All in all this is a great store in downtown and I'll be back soon to snag some goodies.

Two employees, who their name tags read as Evelyn and Kim, were extremely unprofessional. My mom simply asked if they had a certain size in an item. Kim checked and said it was available, then immediately turned around to Evelyn and Evelyn squinted her eyes and whispered, "Are you going to go?"--all while I was standing right there witnessing the whole thing. I genuinely don't know if they thought my mom and I were stupid or not paying attention, but the disrespect was obvious. I confronted her and told her directly that the way she looked at her coworker was not okay. And we clearly saw her making that face and asking Kim if she was going to go look for it. Instead of apologizing, she gave us excuses, saying the item was "probably in boxes in the back." When I said we would wait and she could go check, both of them kept the same attitude, kept staring at each other and did not move a muscle. Instead of staring at each other and giving us dirty looks like WE were the ones causing a problem I'm sure they could have found the item. They were clearly bothered, I'm still trying to figure out what card was played. It was just pure disrespect towards my mom. Not a single apology. Not a single ounce of professionalism. Just attitude the entire time, eyes filled with hate. It's employees like this that make customers not want to come back EVER AGAIN. OshKosh, please hire people who will keep treat your business & customers with respect. OshKosh corporate, needs to seriously address this behavior, because no customer should be treated the way we were. I will never recommend this particular store to anyone to go inside too, EVER AGAIN.
