    Parmesan chicken and spaghetti
    Nancy T.

This is a hard one as my daughter recommended this place. She loves the owners and I did talk to them and they were extremely nice. My granddaughter order spaghetti.and meatballs, Caesar salad. She must not have been too hungry, only ate half of the salad and a third of dinner. My husband and I split a chicken Parmesan as we on't live in the area. We also order it with a Caesar salad. They were great and splits the dinner and salad. Loved the salad, but for me the spaghetti that came with the chicken was too spicy. The chicken was OK but I have had better. My granddaughter ordered the. Lave cake with ice cream, absolutely delicious. Sheena was our server was OK. The place is unadorned but reminded me of Cheers. I love places that are run by families and are local. So today I had the leftover spaghetti and it tasted so much better. So my real review is between a three and a four.

Love, love this place. The only place might compete is Lemmos Pizza! Incredible food, great service and the best pork chop anywhere. The drinks are second to none!! Highly recommend

This gem of a restaurant is a hidden gem. I was in the area with my grandson at a Pumpkin Patch as a Chaperone. Needed to charge my car and ran across this family owned restaurant. I walked in and you can tell it's a neighborhood favorite! I was greeted with a smile and the ambiance is warm and welcoming. Mike is the owner and was extremely nice and accommodating! I ordered some wings and fries and they were the best I've had since moving to LA from Dallas 2 years ago! Being from Chicago originally it's hard to find great wings! This place exceeded my expectations!! Highly recommended! I will definitely be back!!

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a hidden gem in Moorpark. It is a great place to enjoy a meal with your family or friends. You will not be disappointed by the food, the service, or the ambiance. The food is consistently delicious! My family have been there several times and we always leave happy and full.

We honestly were not sure if we wanted to make the drive to Moorpark again, but given Phil's extended efforts, we felt it was only right to give Freda's another try. Our last visit was during Mother's Day weekend, so we thought to come for brunch on Father's Day. It was busy when we arrived, but the host team managed the flow of customers very well. While being seated, the timing of the next reservation was mentioned, allotting an hour and a half for our time there. This was more than enough, and we were graciously thanked for our understanding. Shortly after, Danielle came to greet us, apologized for the previous dining experience and showed sincere appreciation for having us again. We had two servers for our section, Nathan being our primary one, but as before, we felt the entire team worked exceptionally well in taking care of customers. We started with the Focaccia Rustico which was the best part of our last meal. This arrived heavily toasted. We prefer the softer version from our dinner, but it was still very good. The husband was eager to try the French Dip, and it did not disappoint. The sandwich had the perfect ratio of meat to bread. The au jus was flavorful, along with the horseradish spread. The fries were, hot, crisp and nicely seasoned. I ordered the Dutch Baby. It arrived freshly made in the cast iron pan, with sides of butter, syrup and berry compote. This was my first time having the German pancake and it was delicious! It will now be on my radar when having brunch elsewhere, but Freda's is the standard that others will follow. Team members checked on us often, as they did with other customers. Danielle stopped by a couple more times. We were thanked again, as we left, for giving them another chance. It was a great experience from beginning to end and a testament to Freda's dedication to customer satisfaction. We'll be back. :)

I just recently celebrated my birthday here in the private room and the staff were really attentive and helpful. I finally got to try their pizza and it was definitely delicious. Top drinks to try: yuzu lemon drop (sooo good), paper planes, and the cucumber smash! Appetizers: Mac n cheese balls are always a crowd pleaser and Brussel sprouts were my favorite. Mains: the chicken scallopini, the sand dabs!!! So good, and the beef short ribs!

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

It's the perfectly curated trio - Dirty Martini, followed by a well dressed crisp Cesar salad, and perfectly hot Truffle French fries. That's girl dinner in a nutshell (trust us on this combo). On their speciality menu it's called "Martinis and Munchies for Two" for $49. An amazing deal split between two friends. Dirty Martini: Some of the best ice cold martinis on this side of town. These cocktails were crafted to perfection and were always a sucker for the blue cheese stuffed olives. Tossed Cesar Salad: A Cesar salad during these hot summer months always hits the spot. Crisp, cold and fresh. The dressing was solid but I must highlight the lightly scattered capers on this salad - so smart and so tasty! Truffle French Fries: After a few martinis these French fries come in clutch. Crispy, hot and perfectly salted - who doesn't love a French fry and an aioli with a kick. Honorable Mention: PASTA. I was very impressed with my pasta dish here. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and this pasta was a 10/10. Perfectly cooked ribbons of pasta with a hearty meat sauce and the Stracciatella topping sealed the deal for me on this pasta. We had a fabulous girls dinner from start to finish. The ambience at Selvin's is truly magical and we just love the decor and bar area. We had a cozy little booth to ourselves and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Extra kudos to Claudia for being a bubbly, lovely girls girl who was super attentive to us during our meal and made the night A+. Can't wait to come back soon.

Two skewers with 6 bacon wrapped prawns and some veggies on the skewers. Also delish. My wife went with the seared ahi ($39). Also quite good.
