Pool Area at night

What a GEM. GET INTO IT: My boyfriend and I stayed here last Sunday for a mini romantic getaway in suite 3 and had the most magical time. Check in was a breeze. Jason sent me a text message earlier in the day confirming everything. We arrived after the office was closed, and I must admit we were a bit nervous about not having the office open when we arrived. I don't know why I was so worried, everything went great. We got our keys and was able to get to our suite no problem. In the suite is a folder with all the information you'll need about the grounds. After we went out on the town, we got back around 10:00pm for a late night swim. The pool is open 24 hours, but be sure to be quiet so you don't disturb other people around you. Do not waste your time going to a big hotel chain. Do yourself a favor honey and book a suite at this cute romantic inn. My boyfriend was so impressed that we're already planning another stay at Old Ranch Inn.

I love how easy it was to check in and out here. I got a text early in the morning the day of our arrival. It asked what time we will be checking in and even advised instructions how to get in etc. I love that! Convenience is so important especially when people are so busy and on the go. I feel like it's so laidback here that it runs itself. I seen one person in the office early in the morning but that was it. Location is perfect! Quiet neighborhood but still people walking around often and close enough to palm and Indian canyon where all the shops and restaurants are. There were only two bikes but no one was using them early in the morning so my bf and I took a bike ride to get coffee and it was just such a beautiful morning. They even leave you 2 cans of complimentary Minute Maid lemonade in the fridge. It's cute and clean we would definitely come back here. Oh one more thing it's also dog friendly!

I stayed here during Covid-19 and everything was great!!!! The owner which I forgot his name is so nice and showed me around my room. He explained everything and answered all my questions. This is a very cozy hotel with a pool that's open 24hrs which I was shocked to hear. My room was very spacious with a fireplace and kitchenette which had everything I needed. I would stay here again because it was very quiet and comfortable.

Beautiful view & cute little pool!

We stayed here last weekend. It's so cute & clean! I love the western decor. My only complaint was Sunday morning at 7:00 am a gentleman was swimming .... well splashing around and woke us up after a late Saturday night. Since the pool is in the center of the hotel and all the front doors of the hotel rooms face the pool, Maybe enforce a morning time for the pool. We literally picked the hotel because it was an adult hotel.... Hence trying to avoid the 6:00 am wake up call from kids in the pool. not the hotels fault but loud pool in the morning will wake people up because of the location of the pool.

Such a perfect, quiet, clean get away spot. Our room was perfect and love the kitchenette! Probably the best dog friendly place to stay in Palm Springs. Walking distance to the hot spots in Palm Springs! The inn keepers also go out of the way to make sure you have a great experience. Can't wait to visit again!

We had an excellent two night stay at this Palm Springs hideaway. Small hotel tucked away just a couple blocks off the main Palm Canyon strip. Beautiful pool area with mountain views. Comfortable room with kitchenette and large bathroom. Private patio with two seater table. And dog friendly. We'll be back.

I was hoping the desert air would make the impossible, possible. Arrived on a day with nothing but blue skies. They had lockers to store my belongings; robes and slippers are included for the day. They offer facials, massages, and body treatments. It was so nice to unwind and bask in simple pleasures that life has to offer. I took a dip in all the pools from one to the next; I love mineral pools. Something about this water feels like magic. Time just froze. It was as if my whole life led up to this moment. Nevertheless, sky gazing is allowed and in fact encouraged to watch the clouds drift. Birds chirping was music to my ears. The plants were oxygenating and the landscape was therapeutic. Staff and guests were friendly. Prime spot for spa-goers. Welcoming inspiration. Get inspired today. You know people are known to see water in the middle of the desert...Was it all a mirage? Did it really happen? I think I just talked myself into going back--I need a redo. #DontBeBlueBeYou #IndulgeInBliss #BestVersionOfMe "As you walk through the desert of life, may you always find your oasis!" When I walked in I asked where do I check in because the area was giving bar, the guy with the curly pony tail said right here do you have a reservation. I politely told him no because I wanted to see what the vibes were like before booking & kinda laughed, he didn't crack a smile just looked at me like I was bothering him lol so I'm like ok so can I check in here he then says no, you have to do it online but let me tell you the cheapest room we have. Woah woah woah lol what made you think I was looking for cheap ?!! Umm ok so he gives me the quotes for upstairs and down stairs which has a fire place. Funny enough I had always planned on the patio and fire place which was more expensive because it's my birthday I wanted to get some content. Any ways I went online to start the booking and checking in, the price was significantly cheaper than what he quoted me, no biggie as I was putting in my information he handed me a card and said have a seat over there. I was literally damn near done but I guess he didn't want me at his counter any longer so I took the card and slid out the door and went to my car and drove 3 hours back home lol. I guess it wasn't so much what was said but how it was said. The vibes were just off and it scared me away. I get it sometimes dealing with the public is draining but don't give me the energy I'm not giving you! This was my first solo trip so I was nervous and extremely polite on purpose because I'm traveling alone. In case of emergency I would like to think staff care about their guest.

The pool was filled with cloudy bluish green water... I reported this to management on the second day, they followed up with I'm sorry, I would be disappointed as well, and that they will have their pool and maintenance team on it right away... That was just something to say try to make me feel better, never once during our stay did pool maintenance or pool cleaning company come and test the water or try or attempt to clean the pool or Hot Tub. The whole idea was to get away from the busy world and to come out to Palmsprings to soak in the pool and Hot Tub was a complete failure... Although our check-in process with Paulina was pleasant, the management and the ownership completely dropped the ball, and clearly showed that they do not care about the cleanliness of the pool, I am confident that if sanitary testing measures were taken, the pool would be shut down due to the filthy nature of the water and disgusting body scum ring. There are 1 vending machine only had Diet Coke left, and the snacks were stale. I would not recommend the dunes.

The property is small but quite nice. Pool is kinda crammed in there, with fewer chairs than guests should the hotel be sold out, and it's right in front of the restaurant, putting your swimsuit ass on display for anyone looking to dine. But there is a spa past the "guests only" sign, away from the pool, so that's at least an option. Rooms are spacious and beautiful. Reminded me of a casita. Shower is huge and has great pressure. Pocket doors all around, nice. Hot tub in back is killer and having a fire pit next to it makes the backyard lounging even more inviting on a crisp night. Free breakfast is full of solid choices. Not-free food and drinks are good but, holy hell, is it overpriced. I hate that we're at a place where drinks are $20 on average for alcohol that hasn't been getting more expensive. I just drink less so good for me, I suppose? I got a surf & turf for $55 and it was flank steak and about 15% of it was fat. It came with three shrimp. Sad. Excellent service. Everyone was polite, accommodating, pleasant. No complaints there at all.

General hotel layout was nice, felt vintage and was a refreshing twist. Room layout was interesting, tv was placed in front of the couch so you can't watch tv in bed. When first entering our room: 1. The two ceilings lights either flickered or did not turn on at all. The room was pitch black until we PLUGGED IN the closet lamp. 2. The bathtub was not clean, there were hairs. Bathtub was paint was chipped and the faucet was leaking as well. 3. The kitchen utensils were not clean. Forks, glasses and even the roll of paper towels were found dirty or used. The extra rolls under the sink were unwrapped. When coming to our room a few hours after check in, calling customer service (calling three times) took more than an hour, just for us to be told that the lighting and cleanliness issues will be solved in the morning. Was really looking forward to the experience but upon our first few hours, we felt unwelcome, uncomfortable and turned off of our whole stay. Especially when faced with the lack of cleanliness in the restroom, if our bathtub could be so apparently dirty, what else could they have missed? We were forced to spend the first few hours fixing up our room before starting to feel comfortable. This meant scrubbing the bathtub, washing every dish and checking every surface. With the lengthy and detailed check in process, we were really expecting a quality, travel worthy experience. Instead, it felt we were greeted with an unclean, uncomfortable welcome. As guests, it was made obvious to us that customer service was not at the forefront of our experience. Having decentralized customer service (through phone numbers and apps) made us feel so unattached from the actual experience.

I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. I left off one star because there are definitely areas of improvement that could be made but not enough to ruin my experience.

It use to be so nice with a couple who owned and or managed it well. A nice happy hour with wine and snacks. Along with a hot cooked breakfast with a daily menu change. Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels. Now there's NOTHING! Not to mention it's a total dump. Dirty, rotted wood everywhere, broken glass, the exterior is peeling, the awning to welcome you is completely tattered and broken, trash in the parking areas, broken door handles, the bathroom was disgusting, etc... It's a complete DUMP! Do not waste your money. No more happy hour (well unless you want this-Pace picante sauce from a jar with stale chips and slushy margarita mix without tequila. The chips, salsa, and "margarita" mix were still sitting out for guests to "ENJOY" the next morning! It had been sitting out uncovered for over 15 hours! GROSS! No wonder why they're stale! Our original reservations were set and paid for April 2022. They canceled our reservations telling us they had to close for renovations until November! So we thought we'll wait until they're done. NO RENOVATIONS we're ever done! This place use to be a hidden gem. Do yourself a favor and stay at a Motel 6. At least it's updated and clean. Not to mention about 1/3 of the price. We paid $500 for two nights. Oh, and there's no one working the desk (at least from morning to around 3pm) so you're on your own if you need anything. The front desk guy is very nice, but this shit show place is out of his control. I feel bad for him!
