Came here for a dinner with family after a long day of traveling. Had reservations in a private room that ended up being a corner of the restaurant but it was fine just because we didn't want our rather large party to be split up. Dark lounge feel with a hint of country throughout sims up the indoor decor as well as the area for the restaurant. Service was pretty mid, had to ask for a water about 4 times myself as well as others asking for waters. Trying to enjoy family time and while the server was friendly, we felt a little rushed in ordering and experiencing a night out together. Got several appetizers, bang bang shrimp was probably the standout. Dirty fries, crab cakes and shrimp cocktail were all fine. Got the Buddha bowl with salmon, others got pasta, salads and brisket to name a few. Buddha bowl was pretty flavorless despite all of the different ingredients, glad I added the salmon to it. Sweet potato fries from someone else's plate were really good. Brisket was just okay as well. Salads came out at the same time as meals which made it hard to fit everything on the table. I live in town, we checked it out a week or 2 ago here are my impressions. The Skinny: my wife had the blackened Salmon and I ordered the calamari app and a side salad. The resturant was about 1/2 full and our waitress was great. We were looking forward to our meals. The resturant is behind the bar where you walk in and was getting noisy. Food came Salmon was OK served with some maple carrots that were sweeter than dessert. My calamari was overcooked and should never had been served. So that was the entree for me. Now bar noise is increasing by some drunk yelling about nonsense. We had to listen to this for about the last half of our meal. If someone is overserved send them home they are affecting everyone's good time. So to me they didn't care about my meal or atmosphere enough to make me want to return. Absolutely phenomenal food and service with cool decorations and art. My wife got the parm crusted whitefish that I tried. Pretty fantastic. I was on the fence between the steak and smokehouse platter. I went with the platter and honestly might be the best restaurant brisket, pork & ribs I've ever had. Perfect bark and texture. Just walked out of this place after an average meal. I don't write many Yelp reviews unless it's really great or pretty bad. This place was the latter. When we walked in there was a bit of a line. The guy seating us took the people behind us first because they had a reservation. Fair enough I guess but I didn't know getting a reservation meant waiting in line less... the people with the reservation even pointed out twice to him that we were there first. He came back to seat the two of us and told us all he had was bar seats. That was ok. We sat down. Then 5 minutes later another couple walked in and he told them they had a table. Well, we were there first and would have liked a table. Guess he liked the way they looked more than us? Who knows. We order the food and it took 45min for a burger and a chicken sandwich to arrive. The place wasn't packed but it was busy. Still felt like it took too long. The burger was average and the chicken sandwich had an onion ring that was fried hard as a rock. The burger was medium well like we asked though and the chicken was fully cooked through so we were able to eat. Prices were also on the high side for the quality and amount. read more

Hello fellow yelper's. So Peggy and I were staying on the boat at Jacobson Marina. Old town grill was referenced as the best place to go. This is by the locals. And as you know never mess around with locals recommendations, they're normally pretty good. Unfortunately, I didn't have my phone with me so there's no pictures. The place was awesome. There was a waitlist Peggy because of years of being condition went for the bar. Or maybe she just likes to hang out at the bar. I never really know because she keeps me guessing. Ordered my Mount Gay rum and coke. Life was good. Again no picture of the Mount Gay you'll have to use your imagination. Peggy had her standard 7-Up or Sprite whatever they had. We cruise the menus she picked out a pulled pork sandwich. My gal said she wasn't hungry but she made a pretty good stab at it and took half home for tomorrow. The fact that she's taking it home or I should say back to the boat it must've been good because she made me carry her lunch. Flashback to being six grade and carrying a girls books to school. But I'm wondering back to the menu, the special was legs. So I placed an order. We had neighbors and started visiting. The were on the marinia too. it was pretty friendly. Our kind of bar. I saw the owner sorry I didn't get his name but he checked in with us on our way out and thanks for stopping by really appreciated it. The food was excellent. I was eating the crab legs very slowly It was a lot of crab legs!!! Peggy made several marks throughout my meal. I didn't care they were that good and I was going to enjoy every piece. To give you an idea how long it took me, the butter solidified in the cup. It was time to go. Bottom line I would go back in a heartbeat. And the good news is when we do our return trip I think we'll be going by here again so will do it again and I'll have my phone and take pictures and give you an update but if you're in the area by all means stop by you will not be sorry. Great service and good food! Brisket and mac n cheese were especially tasty. Lobster bisque was also good but didn't have any lobster pieces in it. Better than your typical bar food but higher priced - 3 meals and 2 beers came to $99 after tip. Overall a positive dining experience and a nice option to have in downtown Frankfort! read more

Was very disappointed with the food. Overpriced and not good. Went there with friends hoping that this would be a nice addition to Frankfort dinning and found just the opposite. The Ceasar salad was more like a small side salad rather than large dinner salad and the added chicken was not worth the price. The Alfredo linguine sat in gobs of oil and hamburgers were so small I doubt the two guys eating them were satisfied. Really? I ordered a$17 brisket sandwich and only had thinly cut two strips of brisket. They were supposedly smoked but couldn't taste any smoke. My wife had a cocktail that just tasted like seltzer water. Server was very nice but food quality and quantity underwhelming. read more

Just had my first Friday night dinner at the Old Town Grill. My wife had a Caprese and I had a wedge salad. My wife would have preferred bufala mozzarella on her Caprese, but the wedge was awesome. It was my first time visiting Old Town Grill and Tap, which was recommended to me by the friendliest and most knowledgeable woman who works at the bait shop down the road. Old Town Grill and Tap absolutely blew my family and I's collective minds. Expecting to find mediocre food, we ordered as nothing else was open. Oh my were we surprised, the food was delicious!! I've been all over the country and I can't believe I found my favorite Fish and Chips in Michigan!!! The other food from the shrimp appetizer, to a burger and brisket was cooked to perfection and I couldn't be happier with it. Worth the price 100%. Not only is the food wonderful, the beer selections are unique and various, there are special brews made from other breweries over the state specifically for this place.
