The food was very good. Our server was friendly and there was a nice cocktail menu and extensive wine menu. The restaurant was very busy they recommend on their website to make a reservation and we were glad we did. We will definitely be back!

We had our wedding day dinner at The Glenwood and I can't say enough about how special they made the evening. It was a very intimate celebration, just five of us, and they set us up in a cozy private room that felt warm, welcoming, and perfect for the occasion. The hospitality was truly 200 out of 100. Every detail was handled with care, and the staff made us feel like we were the only people in the world that night. I honestly wish we had a place like this down South....nothing compares. The ambiance was elegant but comfortable, and the attention to the little things really hit home. From the lighting to the table settings to the way the service flowed, everything just felt thoughtful and intentional. Shout out to our server, Arden (or Aden, I'm terrible with names!), who was absolutely wonderful the entire evening. And a heartfelt thank you to the hostess who saw our note about it being a wedding dinner and treated us with such warmth and care. it felt like she genuinely celebrated with us. The food was incredible. Every course was delicious, but my favorite part? The dessert tray! They bring out a full tray of beautiful (fake) desserts so you can see and choose exactly what you're in the mood for. Such a fun and charming touch. The Glenwood made our first dinner as a married couple feel intimate, joyful, and unforgettable. We'll never forget it.

Everything was amazing. You need to book this place far in advance since it is so popular and rightfully so. We were lucky enough to get a private room for our party of 6. The Halibut was delicious as well as the lobster that I sampled from someone. A few bottles of wine and cocktails really added to the experience. Our sever was friendly and on point. On the off chance you have room for one of their many desserts, I would recommend sharing it. They are huge.

5 stars, really!? Yup and I'm standing behind that decision I would classify this place as casual/elegance. The atmosphere is very nice with pretty decorations and nice seating areas. We opted for indoor dining vs outdoor (basically a picnic table out front, maybe this isn't a staple but it didn't look inviting next to the parking area) or the screened in porch. If I had seen the porch beforehand I would have chosen that but our table inside was just as nice. Remember there is no air conditioning so keep that in mind. Parking is small in front but we noticed another parking area at the side. Not sure how to get to it but it's there. We made reservations and it would be a good idea to make them. As we were seated, at 6pm on Monday evening, the place really began to fill up quickly. Emma, our server, was fantastic the entire evening. She kept the timing of food perfectly with plenty of time for eating, chatting and simply enjoying our evening. We started with the nights special of warm whitefish dip with tortilla chips. Delicious! Warm whitefish dip under a crusty round of parmesan cheese. After the perfect amount of time we ordered a glass of reisling from Grand Traverse Bay (can't remember the name) and our dinner. Hubby ordered the night's special of short ribs...this came with portobello stuffed ravioli (price point about $35). I would have preferred this dish it was sooo yummy. Too big to finish because we knew were were supposed to wait for the dessert tray! I ordered the night's special of tenderloin tips with pasta (price point about $30). Still yummy but I would have enjoyed the short ribs more Again, Emma kept the timing perfectly. We didn't finish our dinner because again we were warned about the dessert tray and we were not disappointed! We had half our dinners boxed and ordered the vanilla ice cream with berries...light choice after the filling appetizer and entre. It happened to be my birthday so we got the dessert free, thank you Glenwood I would definitely recommend this place of you are in the area and want a meal that is tasty with service that is exceptional. Pricing is higher but for the food it's worth the extra and the service puts it over the top for me.

Our meal was awesome as usual. We make it a point to travel up north to eat at the Glenwood for our anniversary. Reserve a table on the porch. I had Pesto salmon & hubby had Parmesan white fish. We shared the almond shrimp with cherry sauce. Took desert home Raspberry Bomb & Salted Carmel Cheesecake. Yum! Chloe was a great server. They are only open seasonal til Labor Day so don't wait.

The walls are covered with beer signs, trophy fish and old antiques. Fitting for the oldest running saloon in town. Our waitress arrived promptly and took our orders. Our drinks came back quickly and we knew what we wanted. I ordered the chicken fried steak with a side of cheesesy hashbrowns (Additional $1.50), coleslaw and a roll. My friend ordered the 4 piece bbq chicken with fries, coleslaw and a roll. The wait wasn't long. 10-15 minutes if that. My chicken fried steak was good. The cheesey hasbrowns were worth the extra charge! And I don't usually like coleslaw but this was great! My friend sure did enjoy his chicken! The service, food, PRICE for what you get and attmosphere were all EXCELLENT!

I had barely set foot in the door when the two bartenders at the bar greeted me warmly and welcomed me in and told me I could sit anywhere I wanted. I sat at the bar and as recommended by a local, I ordered the pepper jack crab soup, which was delicious. One thing to be aware of: don't expect real crab in the soup. Imitation only. But it's plentiful and delicious on a frigid winter day. The bartender recommended the roasted chicken or the perch, and living near another great lake and always having ready access to perch, I decided on the broasted chicken. I was not disappointed. It came with four pieces, choice, potato, and a choice of another side. It was way too its food, but I ate more than I thought they would because it was that good. I will definitely return to the painted lady!

With its elegant…read moresetting and abundant windows featuring Lake Michigan views, it makes for a memorable evening. The daily menu was crammed with the best local foods and in August when we visited that meant cherries, luscious vine ripened tomatoes, blueberries and more. In fact I hard a hard time narrowing down even the 4 salads as they all sounded fantastic as did the 10 appetizers. In the end we opted to share some things starting with the light crab "puffs" (really golf-ball-sized crab/rice cakes) which were delicious although a bit light on the accompanying sauce. Next we savored the small summer salad made with juicy dark purple tomatoes, fresh basil and slivers of mozzarella. Our entree was the pecan crusted white fish that was also nicely prepared. Note they add a somewhat outrageous charge for a split plate-around $16, so our fish ended up costing $66! For dessert we chose the turtle sundae festooned with crunchy toasted pecans and a house made caramel sauce. There's a nice wine list too. Service here was top notch with constantly filled water glasses and a very professional staff. I was really pleased and surprised to find a restaurant of this quality located in a tiny vacation hamlet. Highly recommended

While we love great food, we are not "foodies" who do well with super modern/unique takes on classics - and after perusing many menus of different restaurants in the area, we felt like Blu was the right mix of fancy but delicious and classic and we were not disappointed! Pro tip: book a reservation and look when sunset is - we did the 8pm seating with the sun setting around 9-9:30 and if was amazing. They have see through blinds, but raise them up for the sunset and many people walk out to go take a picture on the beach right outside! It's a small intimate restaurant, so in general booking a reservation is advised. The gnocchi was amazing and so flavorful with sun dried tomatoes and succulent shrimp. My spouse got the lamb and really enjoyed the garlic and sauce Robert- and was so happy that it wasn't traditional mint sauce with lamb. The scallops were extremely rich with the asparagus risotto. We did split a crème brûlée which was just okay (maybe a bit too eggy in the texture?) , but they do use real vanilla bean and overall we were stuffed at that point. They have an extensive wine list, cocktail list, and mocktail list which I appreciated as a lady on her baby moon trip :) best Shirley temple I've ever had with real homemade grenadine made from real cherries! Staff is attentive, kind, and always checking to make sure you're taken care of. Overall, yes it's pricey, but for the delicious food, view, overall fanciness - I think it's justified and worth it for a special occasion! We would love to come back in the future.
