Yum yum yummmmm. This place is magnificent! The staff was all super kind, the inside was beautiful, and the outside views cannot be beat! We started with the bread, gyro fries, and calamari which were all fantastic. For mains I had one of the best dishes of the last year. It was the sablefish with fried rice and was just fantastic. The flavors worked so well and the fish was just perfect. The food and atmosphere was all perfect and really was an incredible place to eat dinner.

If I could go here for the rest of my life, I would. Food was incredible, service was top notch, and WOW what a gorgeous view we had. We had a reservation for our anniversary, and I must say, I highly recommend this place. We arrived right on time and were asked where we'd like to be seated. When we requested a table by the water, they were more than happy to accommodate us, leading us to a beautiful waterfront spot. When we first went over to our table, they had this roll down screen over our window and the staff kindly rolled it on up. The staff the entire time was amazing. Very friendly, felt like I've known em' for years. We started with drinks - a chest warming whiskey for me and a Sauvignon Blanc for my girlfriend. For our appetizer, we chose a tomato bisque type of a shrimp, served with rustic bread, greens, and lemons. This dish was absolutely divine. Every bite was delightful, and when we ran out of bread, our waitress kindly brought us more so we could savor every last drop of the delicious sauce. For the main course, I ordered the Sablefish, and let me tell you, it was the best fish I have ever eaten in my life. The combination of miso, honey, and citrus glaze was nothing short of incredible. The flavors melded together perfectly, and the fish was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. It was so exceptional that I insisted on swapping plates with my girlfriend so she could experience it too. The dish also came with amazing fried rice and some decent bok choy. While I'm not familiar with bok choy, it was an interesting addition to the plate. My girlfriend opted for the Cacio E Pepe, a pasta dish made with noodles, pecorino romano, pepper, and roasted tomatoes. We both enjoyed this dish immensely; it had a comforting, home-cooked vibe. The roasted tomatoes were a highlight, enhancing the noodles perfectly. However, as good as it was, it simply couldn't compete with the Sablefish--but honestly, I doubt anything could. In the end, the bill came to around $115, and it was worth every single penny. Anytime I'm in the area, I'll be dining at Rock's Landing. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Food was fantastic-we shared Brussel sprouts, dined on halibut, shepherds pie with lamb, roasted corn pasta wit shrimp, and shared tequila key lime pie. DELICIOUS! Service was superb! Ambiance - who doesn't like sitting by the shoreline as the sun is setting! No misses here-a walk off home run!

absolutely lovely experience. My boyfriend and I traveled from Chicago to Frankfort during a rainy weekend, initially reserved an outside table at Rocks Landing, due to the rain the restaurant had to be creative to accommodate all of their outdoor reservations, upon first arriving Julie and another owner (I didn't get his name) were outstanding. Went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and went above and beyond doing what they could to make us comfortable while waiting for a table. The food was delicious and the view from the patio was definitely worth the wait! Will be back next time we visit northern Michigan.

The $30 charcuterie board was not worth $30. The Rock Burger -best burger I've ever had. My Bruv got it medium, per the restaurant's recommendation. The branzino fish was as tasty as could be. Man I love some good pan seared fish. I was a sucker and got the steak frites. And although it was good & the fries were top notch (almost like steak and shake good mmm mmm mmm that duck fat be splashin') I think the way to go was the burger here. I'm still thinking about it. My girl got the ragu something something- nothing to write home about. Five stars for the burger, the wine, and the friendship.

Albert Caymus once said "I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live as if there isn't and to die to find out that there is". God is at Rock's Landing, I know I met him in every bite I took, with every mention of the staff, and with every glimpse of the view. Yes, I thought it was that good, Rock's Landing just plates class. It's artfully done and each dish has a signature richness about it. It's sport casual, yet you still feel underdressed when you view the menu. I ordered the chicken thighs with zatar and tahini. Plated beautifully, very rich taste, lite, yet very filling. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was spot on. Now not everything can be so complimentary. My host had the skewered pork medallions. It was a large plate, yet the pork was visibly dry. The accompanying sauce was said to be out of this world. However we all agreed that her husband ordered best. Ahi Tuna, a truly jumped up version of a Nicoise Salad, only 100 times better. So Chicken thighs five stars, Ahi Tuna five stars and five moons, Pork skewers....eh, if not over cooked four stars. This pejorative in no way reflects on my review as I ordered excellent items had excellent service.

It appeared to be a sports bar and restaurant from how it was decorated and the TV sets playing Tennis. Our server seated us, quickly took our drink order and got our breakfast menus. I ordered the Two Egg breakfast (eggs over easy, Sourdough toast) and my wife got the Big Breakfast, (eggs medium) which she wanted for the pancakes. The meals took a while even though the place wasn't busy. We soon found out the eggs had been switched. Her's were easy over and mine were medium. So we switched the eggs. My easy over eggs were not fully cooked before they were flipped. My wife's medium eggs were cooked perfectly. However neither egg dish was salted or peppered while being cooked. The pancakes were perfect however. Light, fluffy, and delicious!' She shares one with me and I agreed, delicious, light and fluffy. Her hash browns were not cooked except on the surface. Mine were cooked nicely. However again the hash browns were not salted or peppered during cooking as far as I could tell. All and all the food was good for a breakfast place and the serving sizes were adequate for what we ordered.

We spent a…read morelong weekend in the Manistee area and got a recommendation to eat at The Glenwood which was just a short drive north from where we were. I called for reservations the day before and found that only very early or very late was available. We also were given an option of seating in the restaurant or on the porch. We chose the porch and early reservation. We were seated at a nice table with a view of Portage Lake. We started with wine, (even though we bought copious amounts of wine on our trip, the wine list couldn't be ignored) my wife enjoying a glass of Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc and me a glass of cab. It was recommended we try their Almond Battered Shrimp. This appetizer was served with a cherry mustard sauce that was wonderful. The menu said jumbo shrimp and yes, they were jumbo with that nice "steak like" texture and flavor. For dinner my wife ordered the Whitefish special (Whitefish is on the regular menu but the special preparation was a bit different). This presentation had wilted spinach, onions with a light Parmesan crust. She let me try some and we both agreed this was the best whitefish either of have ever had. I ordered the "Everything Tuna". This was yellowfin tuna with light and dark sesame seeds, poppy seeds. onion, garlic and salt. I ordered it extremely rare (so rare a good vet could resuscitate it) with wasabi. This was a taste sensation. Dinners included broccoli and an excellent salad. The dressing was so good we bought a bottle on the way out. A "loaf" containing four rolls was also included. Our server was Cyrillia and her service was as outstanding as it gets. Often when I'm enjoying service of this calibre, I look around and see if we just got lucky or is everyone getting great service. It seemed that the service standard at The Glenwood is high. On the drive back to our hotel, we tried to come up with restaurants we've enjoyed as much. The list is slim with The Glenwood at or near the top.

The smoked whitefish dip looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. My entree came with a wedge. The lettuce was turning red, so it was obviously not fresh. There were about two bacon crumbles in the salad and a teaspoon of bleu cheese sprinkled on it. I ordered the halibut. It came out dry and tough, and I could tell by the film on the hollandaise sauce that it had also been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile. They also mixed up our sides. This place charges haute prices but offers mid dishes and service.

The restaurant is a house in downtown Traverse City. They only have space for 22 seats, and it was never full during our visit. It is intimate and welcoming. I made a reservation three months ahead, and obtained a seating for 8pm. We were welcomed warmly, and immediately seated. A complimentary mushroom broth "tea" was brought out. My friend who does not like mushrooms even enjoyed it. The service was perfect. Our server understood how to facilitate tasting courses, and the one very small misstep (under down steak for the member of our party that is pregnant, so it was not a being picky situation) was immediately handled without needing to be asked. The wine sommelier did a beautiful pairing. She offered the right level of presentation. Our group of four did the tasting menu. As they are farm to table, and the menu is constantly changing, it is not beneficial to discuss specific menu items. I do want to say the celery soup was representative of the experience, something I would not think to try or sounded amazing but was.
