Always drove past but didn't bother to check it out thinking it was specifically for Octoberfest-type events. I was looking for a sandwich shop i had gone to years ago & noticed they had relocated to this place over 8 years ago. Free parking, charming decors, cute murals of European cities, & clean. They had some soccer watch going on for the World Cup finals & there were many people going to that arena. Looks like there's a working church as people were going in there for service (it was a Sunday) & the church bell rang on the hour. There are a few stores and restaurants in there. It will be nice to help them liven up this place and bring more stores & restaurants in there. You can pretend you're on a mini European excursion.
Went to the Spring Fest event held at Old World Village. It's such a cute place to walk around and explore. At the spring fest they have food stalls, things to purchase and of course alcoholic beverages. They also had a band playing when we were there as well. This place is also a great place to take out of town friends and family.
This is such a cute place to walk around and eat. I come here for the French cafe that's located here and came to a Christmas event. I want to try the chocolate shop that's here! The people match the place, it is culturally diverse and amazing!
I have been here many times. I come for the music . There is a stage and a large dance floor in front of it. Today there is a Beatles band called hard days night. I have seen them before and every song is good. The band just wore their regular clothes and sneakers. They didn't get dressed up in beetle suits at all. The postedhours were 11 to 3, however, it opens at 11. We were the first ones here. Music finally started at 12:30. Sound is set at 95-100 decibels. Of course, I know all the songs, and they were all done well. I ordered chicken and fries. It was a really big portion with four big slices of chicken and lots of fries on the plate. It was very crispy and it tasted really good. Everybody here was having a great time, and a few people danced. The people that came are very friendly and everybody's chatting with each other A really fun afternoon..
I only recommend Old World Village in Huntington Beach during the Christmas season. My boyfriend and I came here off season and thought the area was depressingly dead. When we saw a lively video of the area on YouTube, we decided to come back to give them a second opinion. They have a small private lot, or during Christmas season they also have parking in the nearby area. It gets really busy, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk. In the outdoor area, there were many vendors who came to sell goods like you would see at a street fair. The highlight to me is the Christmas Market and Biergarten at Old World. There were stalls of food, snacks, and drinks from the European countries. We had made the mistake of eating lunch prior to coming here, but we still made room for desserts. In the inside there were festive Christmas trees with themes and goods from the European countries. It was so sweet Santa Claus was even walking around, greeting children and their families. There was arts and craft stations, and the cutest was a station for writing letters to the north pole. Such a sweet spot for the little ones. Having gone to Europe earlier this year, a lot of these snacks and treats brought us back to our trip. It is reassuring to know we can come here for treats if we crave some of the treats we found abroad.

Great looking items in their case but never taste as good as they look. I usually give them a try though! Today a tried a Koug Amman. Definitely not fresh, cold and a dry. Baked good don't do well refrigerated as they get dried out. When you buy baked goods from.a bakery, they expectation is they are fresh. Recommend not giving into the temptation! I did get a good coffee drink to go with and that was made to order at the bar! This time of the year they have their very festive Holiday Market set up. Itxs a must to walk thru. Great decorations to feel the Holiday cheer! About 30 different brands and sizes of Stolen, lots of chocolates; Marzipan, and Nougats. They even sell Lederhosen and Dirndls! Don't get she'll shocked by the prices) over $200 for a Dirndl) as that is what authentic ones sell for without paying for shipping! Service is wonderful, they greet you on thevway in and out. Very nice staff!
This was my first time visiting the old world village beer garden, and I had such a good time! I came during Oktoberfest, so they happened to have a lot of little festivities going around the entire area. I love how the place looks like you have been transported to another country. They have a lot of of different shops, selling pastries or chachkies all around. They even had a little area for wiener dog races! It's was so cute to see all the little puppies walking around. The beer garden was really cool, because they had a really nice outdoor seating area as well as a indoor grand hall type area as well with a stage and a live band playing fun music! I also liked that you were basically surrounded by bars. You could order a drink from almost every window you approach. Super cool experience, I would definitely come back again next year!
We came on the last night of the Christmas market and only giving a 4 because the vendors were all packed up way before the end time posted online. HOWEVER, overall...this place is great. It reminds me of Leavenworth, WA, if you've been there. The bier garden is huge, there are lots of little shops, a bakery, a deli that includes dry goods, meat counter, (excellent selection of sausages and meats!)bakery, and liquor area where there is samplings of their offerings on weekends. Lots of parking, conveniently located right off the 405, and there is even a hotel onsite! (Rooms run about $110 per night)
We always have fun here! Oktoberfest every Fall is a great time. The buildings and atmosphere really make you feel like you're in Europe celebrating. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. The food is on the expensive side but honestly delicious. Kind of typical for any destination like this. They have a bunch of bars with tons of drinks to choose from, and women walking around with shots to buy for a fun experience at your table! There's a few souvenir shops if you want to get some items to take home with you. There's events throughout the year too so there's always something to experience. If you haven't been here you gotta check it out sometime!
Oktoberfest review: Weekday tickets are free if you sign up online ahead of time! Drinks and food are pricey, about $150 for 3 beers, 3 brats, sides and a pretzel. Even on a weekday, there's still a good crowd and good vibes.
What a great little get away. Located on the north end of Huntington Beach this place is a great place to spend an afternoon. It's amazing how this place looks like it belongs on the other side of the world and it's right here in our backyard. During October they hold an Octoberfest which is pricey but still a lot of fun. There's a great selection of sausages in many flavors and plenty of beers. Later in the day there are live bands on weekends and lots of dancing. During the rest of the year there are plenty of shops to browse. I look forward to going during the Christmas season where it's supposed to be beautifully decorated. See you there !!!
Was on vacation and found this little Bavarian spot. Reminded me of an area close to home so we visited. It was during the week and we showed about mid day so most of the shops were closed unfortunately. The restaurant and market that is attached were fun though.
Great German menu, food is excellent! Lots of seating and live music on select days. Great Service, large Selection of beers and specials. Good prices on meals.

Very cool place, looks just like a European village, the food is just as good. Really interesting place to visit, people watch and photo ops because the novelty of decor. Came to watch a sports game, get there early if you're attending an event. Parking fills up, but luckily they provided a parking lot across the street. Inside is cool, lots of TV's, patio is cool too, they have different drink options, big beer menu, drinks for the girls, patio for the pups, service was great and the vibes are too! Will be coming back thank you! read more
Fantastic food in their beer garden. The beers are terrific. The service is quick. I cleaned off my plate. My husband had a bratwurst. I had a Polish sausage and our granddaughter had the beef goulash stew with mashed potatoes. For the amount of money, It is worth coming here. It is festive with many televisions on for all the sports. There is a large selection of beers too! This place holds the Wiener Dog races here throughout the year! There is a bakery, a clock shop, coffee shop, and a crepe restaurant! There are other merchants too! Cobble stone pathways along the walkway, but please do not disturb the residents that live there! read more

Christmas is my favorite holiday so when I heard about this ... of course I had to go! We came here for the Christmas Market. It was really cute! A lot of Christmas decor and goodies! They have live music and Christmas drinks. We wander around looking at all the Christmas trees and ornaments, then got Christmas drinks. We tried the Winter Wonderland and Not Your Grandma's Peach Cobbler. The Winter Wonderland was delicious! The Not Your Grandma's Peach Cobbler tasted like lemonade and did not look Christmasy. I do not recommend this one. Then we wander outside and listened to some music while having a sample of their mulled wine. I like this! It was warm and tasty. Then we got more drinks and tried the German Chocolate Martini and The Polar Expresso. These were super good especially the martini. We ended up buying some sweets. All in all ... it was a good way to spend an afternoon and start with the Christmas activities. read more
Old World Village is a cute throwback to a quintessential German town complete with a church, pub, and market. We ate at the pub and the food was amazing. They have a kids menu with everything kids would eat and an extensive German menu with great food and drink. Sauerkraut, sausages, pork, schnitzel, and soups they have everything and the prices are reasonable. The service was great and they were attentive. If we lived here it would be on weekly rotation. read more

I love Christmastime and Christmas markets, so when I heard about the Christmas market at Old World Village and realized we would be passing by, we decided to stop in for a visit. The market was charmingly decorated, with beautifully adorned Christmas trees and plenty of sweet and savory packaged European treats. It was lively and full of patrons, adding to the festive atmosphere. Outside, the Biergarten offered a selection of classic European food items. The prices were average. We were pleasantly surprised to find a vegan brat option for my husband, while I chose the Nürnberger bratwurst with sauerkraut. Both were served on rolls and were delicious. The vegan brat had a great texture and tasted very similar to a traditional brat. I had never tried the Nürnberger brat before, and I really enjoyed both its texture and flavor. My husband also enjoyed a draft Hefeweizen, which paired nicely with the meal. After eating, we spent time walking around and browsing the shops and vendor tables. While it isn't a large venue, it is cute, cozy, and festive. I do wish there had been more Christmas crafts and décor available, but overall it was a lovely stop that captured the holiday spirit. read more
Went here for Pretzel Fest and what a disappointment. Parking was full so we had to park in a big structure at the end of the street. The pretzels were horrible, stale and hard and not even warm. We honestly had to throw them away and they weren't cheap either. I don't see the big hype. The only highlight was this random grocery and food area where they had different alcohol on display on a cart and we could sample anything. I would actually get it if i ever go back. Other than that, there was nothing else to see, just walked around with all the stores closed. Was gonna stay for the concert but I just wasn't feeling the vibe. read more
My husband and I wanted to check out the Christmas market here at the Old World Market on a Monday and were disappointed to find out the outside market is only open on Friday- Sunday during the holiday season. We were looking forward to experiencing both the indoor and outdoor market together but we were only able to browse the indoor market, which was still nice but next year we will come on a weekend for the full experience. Our overall experience today is a 3 1/2 since we were not able to see the outdoor portion of the market. We did eat at the Biergarten which was very good if you like German food. read more
Visited during the German Christmas Market and it was so amazing! Indoor/ outdoor area filled with holiday revelers and Christmas sights everywhere, including Kris Kringle - the German Santa. So worth the visit! The actual center has several boutique shops, restaurants, a church, tea time a plant store and other retailers. This place also hosts several cover bands and is known for the German beer. read more

Christmas Market at Old World Village in Huntington Beach is a wonderful holiday tradition. It's free to park and enter and appeals to all ages. Upon entering, you're overwhelmed by beautiful & bright Christmas lights adorning a global collection of themed trees and international food displays. The music and festive holiday treat displays fill the space with Christmas spirit and the pop-up bar serves Mulled Wine and other holiday cocktails. There's a German deli and market and a restaurant if you're looking for a German meal. We came home with fresh baked strudel and some European Eggnog and Spiced rum that we'll be able to enjoy throughout the season. Old World Village holds various festivals during the year and features a European experience without leaving Huntington Beach. Highly recommended! read more

Went to see the Christmas market. Not impressed at all. Was at a German Christmas market in Cambria last week and it was amazing. All Old World offered was lots of food gifts in the market, and a handful of ornaments. Stopped in the restaurant for an appetizer and drink which was pretty good. I hadn't been to Old World in maybe 30 years when I was younger and did the Oktoberfest. Don't think I will be back. read more
When our favorite Alpine Village closed we decided to go to this smaller, more local spot for German food. We found that though the bakery and deli are not quite as spectacular, the food in the restaurant is fantastic! We sat inside the restaurant on a previous visit where they had live music, which was fun but the atmosphere was very loud and a little claustrophobic for us, so we sat out in the Biergarten this time. It was also busy and tables are packed close together but with the nice weather and view of the surrounding little "village" it was quit pleasant. We ordered the variety platter of sausages to share. The mustard and the obatzda (beer cheese dip) were perfect with them. Had to get the huge pretzels as well. They are addictive, soft and chewy with a little salt. Their specialty is the Schweinsaxe (pork shank), a little pricey but so succulent and smoky. Worth every penny! The Beef Rouladen was tasty, but not a favorite. The sides were delicious - red cabbage, German potato salad, spätzle, sauerkraut. We were stuffed! They have a great selection of beers and special ones for Oktoberfest. Took home a few pastries from the attached bakery/deli shop, then strolled through the village to see the shops stopped by the Gourmet strudel shop to nab one of the last little apple strudels! This is a great spot if you like authentic German food, and though we are not "partyers" they always have a lively bar crowd and live music events. Such a cute little mini town to walk through love.How the streets are like little cobblestone pathways. There is a ton of charm here.Though I did arrive at ten thirty doesn't look like anything is open. It appears to me by signage that most of these things come to life around noon. What's like?To have places for live entertainment, food, drink, and shopping. Adorable coffee shops and tea rooms It was a quick walk for us because not many things were open.But those places we did encounter had kind customer service and we're pretty neat to walk through. Definitely more than a couple spaces to catch a drink in good vibe. Wish we could have stayed longer but looking forward to coming back when it is all open and thriving. Shoutout to The German Deli! You were my favorite the baked goods and groceries were fun to look at and eat! read more
Visited during Oktoberfest. Lots of unique shops when you walk around and a fre places to eat and some coffee bars. There are special events on the weekends and sidewalk sales. It's interesting to walk around and look at the architecture and the different variety of shops. read more
A Stroll Through Southern California's German Village - Old World Village, Huntington Beach When people think of Huntington Beach, the first thing that comes to mind is probably the beach. But hidden within the city is a charming German-themed village called Old World Village, built in 1978. The area is conveniently located near the 405 freeway, making it an easy stop if you're in Orange County. Even though it's just a street away from Costco, the village maintains its own unique European charm, almost making you feel like you've stepped into a different world. Aside from its beautiful Bavarian-style buildings, the village is best known for hosting Oktoberfest, an annual German beer festival in the fall. During the event, the entire village comes alive with: - Traditional German food (think sausages & sauerkraut) - Authentic German beer - Live music & dance performances featuring traditional German attire Beyond Oktoberfest, Old World Village also hosts Easter markets and Christmas markets throughout the year. During the holidays, the village is beautifully decorated, transforming into a cozy, festive wonderland with twinkling lights, handcrafted goods, and seasonal food stalls. Old World Village has its own small church where weddings can be held as a I saw, which explains the presence of nail salons, bridal shops, and beauty salons nearby. There are also several German restaurants serving signature sausages, sauerkraut, and German beer, along with a small boutique hotel called Hotel Europa--a tiny but well-equipped European-style getaway. My friend and I spent the afternoon at The Coffee Tale, a Turkish café inside the village, before taking a leisurely stroll around and snapping photos. My friend wanted to watch live band performing the 80s music and it found her this place. I have been here before for a birthday party with bands performing songs from Bruno Mars and the Prince. I had so much fun so this time I was really excited to come back. The was a huge group celebrating high school reunion for Cypress High class '82. Man, they were loud, lively, and fun! A few ladies went up the stage and took the microphone from the vocalist and started singing and dancing, and they were actually pretty good! The village is comprised of many small shops selling European style merchandise. We arrived around 6pm and didn't venture around except the few at the entrance. One of the shops has an assortment of German traditional dresses and outfits but kind of pricy ~$100/piece. If you are able to buy the tickets for the concert in advance, it's only $5! Such a bargain for a great venue and the awesome music/band. On day of the event is $20, still a deal considering the hundreds and thousands people pay to go and watch the big names. The food comes from the Biergarten German restaurant that serves, yes, you are right, German cuisine. The world's biggest pretzel according to my record, LOL! It's a must try. I had one of their hot dogs before and it was delicious. I love the Sauerkraut and my friend didn't because she is afraid of the after gas, I did have to put up with it but it's all worth it, the rich probiotics are good for the digestive microbiome, seriously! My friend had a glass of white wine, I usually skip the alcohol, but a lot of people are drinking their beers. They also serve small pretzels with different flavors which I think is a tried failure,usually they cost ~$11 and it was on promo that day for $5. Please just stick to the traditional plain butter and salt pretzels! Everything is a little pricey but still cheaper than the sports stadium foods with better quality. I can't seem to take my eyes off the good looking men serving the food, LOL! The band killed it!! The guitarist, the base, the keyboard, the drum, and the singer! Just epic! They are just as good if not better than the big names! The sound is just loud enough for the crowd, the lighting was perfect, and if you want to kiss your sweetheart under the disco ball, you will have it! Big indoor seating area with a decent stage and dance floor. You can reserve your table for your party on its website. Great outdoor seating areas with wooden long table and bench. Two food stations and two bars and you never have to wait too long. Appreciated the free ice water at the bars so much! Hearts and hearts! Last but not least, lots of free parking! I've been here a few times for the Weiner Dog Races (adorable) and the Pretzel Fest. I love walking around the village, there's a lot of cute little shops here. Parking is easy and there's overflow lots too once the main ones fill up; I appreciate the extra signage to direct you to the right spot as well as the folks who are directing parking during big events. We ate at the Old World Biergarten on our first visit for the races and loved it. The sausages are delicious and they did not scrimp on the peppers and onions. We also split a huge Bavarian pretzel and when I say huge mean HUGE bigger than your head kind of pretzel. I had high expectations for the pretzel fest and felt it was a bit hit or miss. The regular food menu was definitely more promising than the specialty pretzels and I think it was because the regular food they were keeping warm and serving hot but the speciality pretzels seemed to be all premade and they just plated them immediately before serving. That means the pretzels were a bit hard/cold, not the best experience. But the sausage dog, that was the highlight for me. The sausage has a great kick and the pretzel was delicious and buttery and paired so well with their German mustard. First time stopping by Old World Village even though it's been a staple in the area for years! We were excited to see what their festive Christmas Village had to offer as well as browse the shops in the village. To our disappointment most shops were closed Mondays, which is when we found ourselves there. We did enjoy walking through the restaurant and little German deli, the Christmas village was open near the Biergarten area but can be easy to miss if you aren't looking for it, you can enter through the parking lot or deli. They had various themed sections and decorated Christmas trees. Pricing was pretty high for the items being sold, you can find similar of not the same products at your local Cost Plus and homegoods stores, so this was a little disappointing. Overall, we spent about 30, minutes here and although many of the stores were closed I can't say we feel a need to return. From what we did see on the village the area itself is pretty old and run down, including years old window displays and chirping faded paint. It almost felt abandoned. If I was a tourist visiting, I would say skip this stop there's so much more to see in Orange County. read more

I see a lot of stairs in the photos. Are there any restaurants in old world that are wheelchair accessible?
Oh yes! Old World Village is basically all street level, except for the apartments or hotel built within the Village. Plenty of eateries and the main restaurant .. all easily accessible.
Does anyone know if it is ok to come in costume to take some pictures in the area?
Yes of course!
Is there a nail salon in the village?
Yes and here is there name The Upstairs salon. Hair nails and skin care.
Are they open today? What they have to show today?
Hi, yes the Village is open today. Each store has their own hours of operations. The Old World German Restaurant is open and has live music. Not sure what time the live music starts but I want to say around 4 or 5pm. There is more information…
