Cottage Industries is such a neat outdoor food hall! What stood out to me immediately wasn't even the food--it was how thoughtfully they designed the entire space. The property itself seems relatively small, but they utilized every inch of it so well. There are cute little areas tucked throughout where you can eat, relax in the shade, or just hang out without feeling like you're sitting on top of everyone else. The decorations are unique and thoughtful, and there were little design touches I honestly haven't seen at other food halls. I especially loved how they created a sense of privacy despite it being an outdoor communal space. It feels comfortable enough for families but also has plenty of little tucked-away spots that would be really cute for a casual date. Whoever designed this place definitely put some thought into how people would actually use and enjoy the space, and I really appreciated that. My only negative, and I don't even know if I can take a star away for this, is that I feel HORRIBLE for the residential neighbors surrounding this place. There are homes next door, behind it, and across from it, and I can only imagine the traffic and noise pollution when this place gets really busy. I shudder thinking about living that close to a popular food hall...but at the same time, SO glad it's not me. Right now, there aren't a ton of food options yet. When we visited, there was basically Smoke Queen and Junbi, so I think this place will become even more interesting as additional establishments move in. I would definitely come back once more vendors open. The atmosphere and design alone already make Cottage Industries worth checking out. I'm really curious to see what this little space turns into once it's fully occupied! read more

I discovered the Cottage Industries area when I came for Smoke Queen. GPS got my to the parking lot on 9th, which was full but I found parking on 8th street. There were also signs that said they have additional parking on 7th street but that's a bit farther away. My first impression was WOW this area is so cute!! I believe it's a newly developed area. They currently have Smoke Queen and Junbi as permanent shops, and then the other "Cottages" have some businesses coming soon and occasional pop ups. It does seem like there are limited spots for businesses or just really small businesses will fit in the future cottage spaces. They have a lot of seating for large groups throughout the area, so I imagine they plan to develop the area to a foodhall-like area. There are also a lot of play areas for kids and family to come here and enjoy. They also have a garden, that I didn't get to look at too much. Definitely a hidden gem in the Garden Grove area. I would love to come back for Smoke Queen and more of their businesses as new shops move in. read more

Actually a very cute and great idea for a small plaza full of smaller shops and a play area. Downside, parking isn't as plenty, you have to street park most of the time and the neighbors might not be happy. One started putting out their trash cans and spaced them out so cars can't park. My uncle ended up parking a block away even though they have a handicap placard. Inside is really nice, there's areas with just dirt so be careful if it's windy and if you have little ones who happen to like playing with dirt or sand. They have a separate section for sand playing near the restrooms. Plenty of seating areas around the playground, ranging from 2 seaters to 6 (or 8 if small enough and grab extra chairs). They have very cute camping decorations like tents and fire pits, so it feels like there's a theme, the bus was an outlier but kids liked exploring it. There's a community garden and I saw someone inside tending to their plants. Very nice. Many of the shops are not open yet when I was there but hope to see them open soon! read more

Cute place in the area, parking is small, so expect to park nearby and walk. As of now, they only have a bbq place and a matcha place inside. Hoping they will have more shops/stores there soon. The backyard set up nicely and perfect for families to hang out. read more

I love this concept and it has such amazing potential especially once more vendors come in. The design is super thoughtful with many different play areas next to most seating areas. We had kids aged 1-6 and they all loved running around here. The bathrooms are clean, there's a changing table, and there's someone keeping the areas clean and tidy even in the evenings. The only thing I'd improve is that many of the open eating areas don't have good visibility of the play areas, especially after dark. It would be nice to have more seating closer to the play areas. Another idea is to switch the location of the sandbox with one of the teepees, since kids seem to congregate there but the view is blocked unless you're sitting in the teepees. It would also be great if the view from the long tables on the deck near the teepees and sandbox wasn't obscured by bushes. Finally, it would feel safer to have the overall area fully gated instead of an open entrance where kids could potentially slip out. Cottage Industries in Garden Grove is such a cute and charming little spot! It is located in a residential area and looks as though they had taken a couple of homes and created this outdoor space. The shops have a fun, artsy vibe and it's a great place to stroll around. There is also multiple kid play areas with tables everywhere so that parents can grab food/drinks and the kids are able to play around. My daughter really enjoyed the sand pit area as well as the outdoor playhouse. The bathrooms are also clean and well maintained. The place was very well kept and there was no trash or dirty plates lying around. There's also a little garden next door which made it nice since there were so many butterflies flying around. I just wish there were more restaurants open -- Smoke Queen BBQ was the only one running when I went. There will also be a matcha place coming soon but was not open yet. Still, it's a great place to hang out and take some pics. Looking forward to seeing it grow! read more

Not pet friendly, no signs visible. Kid friendly! Lots of kid stuff available like a sand box, teepee areas to play in. It's a cute spacious area next to Junbi and Smoking Queen BBQ. Great spot for food, drinks, and relaxing with friends or family. The atmosphere is welcoming, and I've generally enjoyed spending time here. One area that needs improvement is the restroom facilities for families with young children. During a recent visit, my son needed an urgent diaper change, and there was no changing table in the men's restroom. I had to take him out to the car to change him instead and because of how busy it gets and limited parking options it was a long walk both ways. Adding a changing table to the men's restroom would make a big difference for fathers and other caregivers and would make the space more family-friendly. I enjoy coming here and hope management considers this simple but important improvement. read more

Came here for the first time for a private event and I felt like not a lot was done to ensure a good experience. I understand it is a public and community property but there were so many people in the section that was designated and it was so crowded with lots of kids running around us. There were two signs to state it was a private event. But that's it. I wouldn't book an event or private party here. There's nothing part of the space and party rental packages that gives me any incentive to book. It was poorly coordinated and handled for the amount of money my friend paid. This place is definitely a hidden gem inside of a residential area. From the street, it doesn't look like much, but on the inside, it's a huge play place for kids and spots for food vendors. There was only one food vendor, which was a BOMB bbq place, but it had a lot of buildings that were empty. There was a sign for a boba spot coming soon. It looks like it is newly built and waiting for businesses to come in. This spot is set up for families to come and hang out and enjoy good food while the kids play. I was surprised at how big this place was and how they had a lot of play areas for kids. We spent about 3 hours here and my kids didn't want to leave. It is very well kept with a worker cleaning tables and picking up trash. He also found our lost pacifier and put it on a table for us when we came back. I can't wait to see how this place grows. What a hidden gem! We came here because we wanted to find a place to grab food, a drink and a place for our kids to play - and this was the only non-fast food place that popped up. Smoke queen was open (a lot of places seem to be coming soon or just closed when we came) and they are awesome! The staff is so friendly and go beyond to make it enjoyable. They have beer and wine and great bbq! The play areas are clean, have lots of options for kids- sand box with fun toys, a musical instrument place, chalk board .... My 4yr old loves it. This community space is so awesome! Had no idea it existed until I went to check out the shop, Eco Now. I brought my containers to refill bath bubbles, hand sanitizer spray and dish soap while my husband and two year old looked around the Cottage. When I was finished shopping, I went to find them and saw that the Cottages is this adorable, artistic, clean and fun space for kids to play (and there's a nice, big clean bathroom- essential for families!). There's also like a small amphitheater space- maybe for future music performances? Puppet shows? And then you can grab a bite to eat at Smoke Queen. Which was really good! I got a pulled pork sandwich, my husband got the chili and my little had Mac and cheese and an Honest juice box. Everyone was happy. Wish there was a meat alternative option. BBQ tempeh? Dunno. I can't hardly wait until the matcha tea place opens- Junbi. I need a caffeine fix to keep up with my little. And I'm hoping more cool eateries and shops open up there like the Packing District in Anaheim on a smaller scale. It looks like the Cottage is open Th, Fri, Sat and Sun. ? Not sure. Also, heard from a another family that it gets busy in the summer. Seems like it would get pretty hot too. Also, you can check out the community garden space. You can rent a garden bed. I love taking my daughter here to play while getting lunch at smoke queen. The tables under the trees offer great shade. I love that they made this very family and kid friendly. We've been here a few times since they've opened but today my daughter and a few other kids were playing in the sandbox with what they thought were rocks... My husband looked closer and realized that it was cat p00p. Needless to say our daughter will not be allowed to play in the sandbox next time we come - as it's become a giant kitty litter now! I hope they do something about that. Maybe create a cover for the sandbox when the place is closed so cats can't pee and poo in the sandbox that kids play in read more

This place is so cool for families with young kids. They have great outdoor play area. We ordered food from Smoke Queen BBQ but it wasn't very kids friendly. Super cute place to bring the family! The BBQ place is yummy, and the kids love the creative spaces for playing and relaxing.

One star because we won't be coming back. I see the vision with this place but there's only one restaurant you can get food and that's the bbq place with a long line. We came here with high expectations, hungry and with a toddler and a newborn. We ended up going to Beachwood Brewing company where they had it all! Similar to Anaheim Packaging District but it's outdoor. There are different food options, play area for kids, live music and shade!!! We wished we didn't waste our time and came here instead. Majority of the families we saw at Cottage Industries ended up at Beachwood Company for the same reason. Please don't waste your time! Maybe until more restaurants pop in...
