I got a plain bagel toasted with a little bit of cream cheese, lox, and cucumber from here. It was so so good, perfect amount of everything but did get a little messy. It was Saturday morning so the wait was around 10ish minutes but to be expected(we also did order 4 bagels-i would assume if you were just ordering 1 it would have been less). The only reason I did bump them down to 3 stars is because it is most definitely on the pricier side. You can find a bagel just as good for way less. Mine alone was $11, at my bagel place(on Atlantic) this same order would be around $5.75 and it tastes the same. Have slowly been trying all of the local Brooklyn bagel shops, and was hesitant to try Ye Olde because of the low(er) yelp reviews.  Got a takeout order on a Sunday, and was pleasantly surprised by my bagel! I got a whole wheat everything bagel with lox cream cheese. The bagel was seasoned on both sides, (albeit a bit light on the top) and there was a good ratio of cream cheese-to-bagel. The lox spread had a generous amount of fish in it, which is not always the case.  This is definitely a breadier bagel -- it's one of the most doughy bagels I've ever had. This is not ideal if the bagel is anything but fresh, but going during a busy time on a weekend meant that I got a pretty fresh sandwich.  All in all, not the #1 bagel I've had in the area, but definitely not too shabby! Looking forward to coming back to try the zaatar bagel. read more

Ooh man this should be rated much higher. I go here weekly for fresh everything bagels. If you're buying just bagels (not sandwiches) they are much cheaper than bagel pub and just as good, and staff moves quick. The bagels are amazing! Chewy on the inside, and it had a slight crisp on the outside. That's how I like mine, anyway. My BF is from Manhattan, and he grew up eating some of the best bagels New York has to offer, and he said they were absolutely 2 thumbs up! They have a wide selection of bagels and an even wider selection of cream cheeses, many of which I would not dare try, but the classics are there and they do the trick. The zaatar bagel, which they say they are known for, is interesting, though it eats as if the zaatar was an after thought, so it is very much like you took your own zaatar spice out of your pantry and sprinkled it on your plain bagel. Very delicious bagels and the biggest cream cheese and spread selection I have ever seen. When I asked for veggie cream cheese, they asked which kind as there are four options for just that! The bagels are soft and just right. I love the two benches outside for sitting and eating breakfast in the morning. It is a great way to hang out for a few minutes while eating and can people/car watch, especially during good weather. They also have decaf iced coffee! Not just decaf hot coffee poured over ice but already prepared decaf iced coffee. They have rainbow bagels that my son loves. They are cash only so be prepared. They work quickly so the line is never really long. You first place the order in the back and then walk to the front to order drinks and pay. read more

Ok so my mother in law kept raving to me about this Mexican tuna she kept getting from this bagel shop. So I tasted it and I've been hooked since. It has small dices of jalapeños, red onions, cilantro, a little Mayo, salt and pepper but when I tell y'all omggg it's so good I can't explain it. Three stars (current rating) seems *awfully* low for this place. Is it the best bagel place in New York (or even Brooklyn)? No. Is it one of the better bagel places in the area? Yes. While I wouldn't travel here from across the city, it's a good (even great?) option if you live in the neighborhood. Their bagels are tasty and, due to the traffic on the weekends, often still warm from the oven (I never get them toasted and they are usually still warm). Their cream cheeses are good, as are their egg sandwiches. They also have a nice selection of tofu cream cheeses for any vegans or lactose intolerants out there. For those of us concerned with outdoor dining during Covid times, they also have a few tables and chairs outside. read more

Thursday morning breakfast options are abound in this neighborhood. This particular spot is more of the quick-deli option, where you order from the counter and hurriedly take your items to go. Lots of bagel options up front, yet settled for an Apple Bran muffin and a large coffee ($6 together). I had asked for the muffin to be warmed up, which gave me time to get my coffee at the coffee station (regular drip only, looks like). When I got my muffin I realized they had given me banana nut instead. Didn't have time to get a new one reheated so settled for what I got. Warm and satisfying with the coffee. On the texture side, the dough has a good proportion of simultaneous fluff, density and chewiness. They're also quite tasty compared to some of the blander bagels nearby. Their bagels are huge and delicious and you can get them in so many flavors. I love their Cinnamon raisin and rainbow bagel! Furthermore, what sounded nice on the menu, "fresh mozzarella, tomato, arugula, olive oil and balsamic dressing" turned out not to have fresh mozzarella after all but instead a stack of bland cheese squares (this isn't fresh mozzarella at all!!) and was super soggy even though I ate it immediately because of the sheer volume of dressing they poured onto it.
