Being a local morning bagel spot means filling a very specific role in your community. This place misses the mark. Bagel House often doesn't open on time. When it does, good luck quickly getting out with a bagel or even coffee even if it is more crowded behind the counter than in line. Also, you're not getting a bacon egg and cheese here. They don't do bacon. I respect their personal views on that, but if you're going to maybe keep competition for a specific type of cuisine out of an area, you should probably make the cuisine. While waiting to have lunch with my wife at a local diner, I found this gem of a place: a quaint bagel/bodega joint! Very clean and welcoming ambiance. Their everything bagel was served nice and soft, freshly seasoned with a good amount of whipped cream cheese! Their service was great too; the cashier walked my order over to me, a delightful surprise to me who's big on customer service! Most places like this, you pay at the counter, save your seat and then grab your food at the counter when they call you. Their selections are top notch and plentiful! You could spend a day deciding on what deliciousness to eat! You know it's good when there's a steady flow of people coming in and out your entire visit! Went in asking for a bacon, egg and avocado on a bagel. As soon as I got home and took a bite I knew something was off, as I wasn't getting that amazing bacon taste. When I looked it was clearly turkey bacon, I was severely unhappy as not only as it wasn't what I asked for but I hate turkey bacon taste ( plus I was deadly hungover) This was my second chance with this place and it's a no going forward. My neighbor also mentioned a bad experience here with a moldy bagel. I just read two other reviews that also say this has happened where they were given turkey bacon when they didn't ask for it. I work in hospitality so I understand sometimes things can get backed up - totally get that. Called at 1:45pm and spoke with a very rude staff member. Was told delivery guy was already out and would be there in 5 mins. Another 20mins later and still no food - mind you I live in the neighborhood and is roughly 10 blocks away. Called restaurant and they kept sending me to their voicemail to avoid talking to me. Canceled order and received a full refund. Stay away from this place...there are far better and more reliable places in the neighborhood. The best bagels in Park Slope! The bagels are super fresh and delicious. Their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich is amazing and so tasty. The eggs are cooked the way you like it, they put double cheese, and perfect bacon. The only thing that would make it 10x better (personal opinion) is the option for beef bacon. Also the iced coffee is always made perfectly and bonus points that they dilute the sugar with some hot coffee first so you don't have a mouth full of granulated sugar. This is my go to place for bagels every-time I'm home visiting my mom. They always toast the bagels right and never leave me disappointed with the amount of schmear they put on them. Their ice coffee are great as well. They have a friendly staff and the flow of traffic is always good. This place for sure gets a recommendation all day. They have some benches outside so on a sunny day you can eat your bagel and sip your coffee in peace. When in Park Slope make sure to get your bagel from here. Went with an Everything Bagel with Lox Spread.. The counter man asked if I would like it toasted, which I politely declined. The bagel looked great, tons of toppings.. However, upon eating it, the crust was extremely crunchy, akin to good Italian bread.. Tasted good, but not quite what I want my Non toasted bagel to be like.. I came in here this morning for a whole wheat bagel, lox, and cream cheese. I haven't had a bagel in quite some time. I must say, this was an exceptional bagel. It was airy, not too doughy. My iced coffee was perfect. I really liked that they had soy milk as an option. At first, I was hesitant because I like to have coffee a block away. I didn't want that "instant" tasting bagel store coffee. Definitely not the case. The price was affordable, and I was able to sit down at one of their pretty, clean tables. I will be back! read more

Boyfriend and I had two bagels that were not tasty; too soft and everything bagel onions were burnt. Eggs were okay but had a slightly off taste, perhaps from the griddle, that I didn't enjoy. Only saving grace was the scallion garlic cream cheese and that the prices are reasonable before the 4% credit card service fee. Only came here because I was dog sitting at a friend's house. Won't be back--there are much better bagels about a 10 minute walk away (Bagel Hole, Bagel World, even Bagel Pub, although they're overpriced). Also not a fan of the service. Bagel Factory is home to my favorite bagels in all of NYC! And that means a lot, considering I travel all five boroughs for work constantly and have tried almost every bagel NYC has to offer. They are always freshly pumped out, but I guess their sheer volume forces them to constantly make them throughout the day. The staff is always pleasant and gets to know many customers by name (or at least face) and will greet you as you walk in. I used to live down the street from their other location (Prospect x 5th Ave) and thusly was so a constant presence here. Now that I live in Harlem, I try to stop by whenever I am in the area which is not often enough, unfortunately. On the outside it just looks like a regular deli, but the inside is just bagel and cream cheese heaven. They have every single cream cheese that you can ever think of. Everything is so clean, organized and fresh! I got a pumpernickel bagel with lox and scallion cream cheese. It was the best sand which I have ever had! The bagel was super fresh (being that it was the last one), the cream cheese was so fresh, creamy and perfect. The lox was real not just a flavoring and fresh scallions. I can only attest to the quality of the bagels as any kind of dairy or fish based spread would not have held up in my all day airport adventure. I was excited to try this place but was disappointed. The coffee was really bad. It tasted like sugar water with a shot and the cream cheese on the bagel was literally stuck in a huge chunk on one side of my bagel. I couldn't even smear it because it was so rough. :( I don't live in NYC but if I did, I probably wouldn't return here and that sucks because this place is located right by the subway.
