We followed our instincts when we saw the billboard after declaring we were ready to eat. This established has a lovely gift shop in front on way to large dining rooms with ample seating from 2 to a dozen guests. The decor was homey and inviting, decorated nicely and noise level was quiet for a large venue. Our server, Ryan C, was very personable and attentive to our beverages, satisfaction and clearing used plates. I asked his opinion on the pie selection that was available and he shared, "The blackberry can be 'seedy' according to some diners, and the whole I don't like bananas, the banana cream pie is a favorite of many. They're all good it depends what you like." The banana cream pie was The best I ever tasted: strong banana flavor, perfect graham cracker crust and their whipped cream alone was creamy and delicious. My sister had chocolate cream pie and said it was also very good. The buffet itself was very nice with: 1 soup choice, large salad bar and 2 large hot food bars. Salad bar had nicer greens and romaine options, nicer salad fixins and 7-8 dressings. Plus crab salad, cottage cheese. The homemade rolls looked amazing but I avoided, at first, because I knew I would be eating too much of them. But I had a bright idea of making a fish sandwich with the battered whitefish, a dollop of the tartare sauce and it was perfect! I highly recommend doing this! The Broasted chicken was hot, juicy and tasty. Sides of corn, dressing, mashed potatoes, seasoned wedge fries, green beans, hush puppies (yum!!), chicken and noodles. Also had shrimp options: scampi, shrimp w/ baby scallops, fried shrimp. I'm listing what I and my sister had but I know I'm forgetting about 5-6 other options. Definitely stop by and have a great meal/ experience here; very affordable too. $18-20 a person but the quality of the food, homey ambience and high customer service attention is worth every penny. Within walking distance of the restaurant is something for everyone: a petting zoo, ice cream and souvenir shop, a little market and deli, a craft store (people have their wares displayed for purchase) and a glassware shop (replacing missing pieces from dining sets- judging by the sign as I did not go in that one.) read more

Reasonable food but overpriced trying to be another tourist trap. Not much to say about service as we had to wait a decent amount for refills for our larger group. I brought up the issue of Ants at our table in the Oak room and the lady refilling salt and pepper shakers didn't seem to have a care in the world about them. If you see bugs at your table who knows what else if crawling around here. Wouldn't recommend and will likely not go back anytime soon. The quality has definitely went down over the years from when they first came into town. Tourists pay the bills but you won't likely see too many locals here. read more

Got served inenediibly cold mashed potatoes. . Asked for a 2nd order; ALSO inexplicably cold. Everything else was ... suffient, but not special. In addition - it took the server a weirdly long time to realize that i was ordering from the menú, unlike others in our party who chose the buffet. Usually this place has flavorful and a varied buffet. But for the last two times (under their new management) it has been lacking. The Broasted chicken is still good but their roast beef went from flavorful, fatty slabs to lean little cubes with little flavor (hint: the flavor is in the fat people...stop cutting the fat). They were also missing the pork options. In general, they are cutting the meat options and filling with more carbs (cheaper). Instead of bring the customer a free slice of pie heated with an optional scoop of ice cream, they now place all the pies on a self-serve table. Super clean and organized, everything was kept orderly on the buffet line and you could tell it was fresh The dessert table was my favorite! The coconut crème pie was ridiculously good. Olde Dutch Restaurant is clearly a favorite in Logan, Ohio. It's just of US Highway 33 between Athens and Lancaster. The major attraction is the buffet, including salad bar and dessert bar. We elected to order from the menu. I had the Meatloaf Sandwich, made with their Amish recipe. I also added a Salad Bar. The salad bar was very fresh with a good variety of vegetables and dressings! But as we were leaving, we overheard two other servers, talking about a customer night that was very unprofessional, very rude remarks, because this gentleman large. I overheard them call him fat. Could not have asked for a better experience!! While there my wife had her service dog with her which is very necessary for her every day life and a HUGE customer and her rotten husband made nasty remarks to her about her dog. She ended up in tears. Our waitress talked to my wife about it and made her feel better and then the manager came over and made sure we knew that we were welcome in that establishment at any time. I was in Hocking Hills for a extension of a weekend. Within two days, I ate here twice!! I was in the mood for a home-cooked meal-- and this restaurant did not disappoint. You don't have tons of options in Hocking Hills (truthfully), but I was thrilled to find this restaurant nearby. It hit the spot!! PROS: they have an extension of the dining area in the back of the restaurant, so they can fit a large crowd. They have a Buffet, as well as a salad bar. Let me tell you that the salad bar alone is worth the price of the Buffet! You can order off the menu, and I did consider it. It just is so much more cost efficient for the Buffet (and you get dessert). Not going to lie, I loved hiking all day and then filling up with good food here at this restaurant. If you like buffets, this place is for you! You enter through a gift shop, which actually has some cute things worth taking a look at. Just as you start to leave because you think you're in the wrong place, you see the reception desk. They have a regular menu, or you can choose the buffet, which has pretty much anything you could want. The quality of the food was WAY beyond what I would have expected. The corn chowder was very good and very hot. Nice selections on the salad bar part, including some fresh fruit. The turkey was thick slices of roasted turkey, and the brisket was also thickly sliced. The broasted chicken was delicious -- way better than most fried chicken The cheesy potatoes were very good; they almost tasted like mac & cheese. They even had roasted brussels sprouts which wee also delicious -- and I don't often like brussels sprouts. For dessert, there were all different varieties of pies and self-serve ice cream. This restaurant's owner and the Christian Coalition told me I can no longer rent their facilities due to religious reasons. Put me out of business as I held a small community vending show once a month. We didn't break any rules or damage any property, but the final word was basically due to fear of "psychics." Theresa Caputo is a famous Catholic psychic, I bet they wouldn't turn her business away. Most of my people went upstairs and ate afterward so we brought in more business to the restaurant. I spent money on signs for my show that has the restaurant's name on them. I was able to do 3 shows. By the 3rd show, there was an issue with the Christian Coalition. When I tried to book for 2025, they refused my business. I've reported them to BBB, OCRC, and ACLU over this discrimination case. They're infringing on my civil rights to freedom of religion, I am an all denominational person and a hesler wanting to help others. Not a small minded rich business owner with a superiority complex passing judgment on others. read more

We rented a Hocking Hills cabin and had 15 adults and two babies. We picked Olde Dutch because we thought it represented the area well. They did a great job accommodating us, ie, had a nice back room for big parties that had a view of the cutest petting zoo. Both the food and service was excellent. I especially liked the pork roast, brussel sprouts, and coconut cream pie. The restaurant also includes a gift shop with other shops, ice cream. And mini golf in walking distance. Visited the Olde Dutch after a long and sweaty Hocking Hills hike and got the job done. If you need a carb overload, please look no further. It was very busy for a Saturday afternoon. Seems to be a very popular biker gang restaurant in fact which surprised me some. We were pleased that we were still able to get the lunch buffet pricing At 3:30. It was about $12 per person which really is a great price for a buffet meal. We were too full for dessert but were able to take some homemade chocolate crinkle cookies for the road. We had a really great experience for dinner on Sunday night. We hadn't eaten at a buffet in over a year and this one was full and tasty! I was amazed at the extensive selection including shrimp and grilled salmon which were both very flavorful. The staff was attentive and upbeat, but very conscious of COVID precautions.
