The place has a relaxed atmosphere with the order counter towards the back, potted plants, framed pictures on the walls, mounted buffalo head, and a few toys (Kidrobot, rubiks cube, stuffed plush toys) high up on a wall shelf. There's long "conference" table with chairs in the center of the room, soft sofa with coffee tables, and stool seating along the front window. They also offer free wifi access too. The drink menu is straightforward offering hot & iced drinks including coffee, espresso, cappuccino, machiatos, lattes, tea (cup or pot to stay), iced tea and cold brew (coming soon at the time of posting). They also have a few baked goods for sale to go with your drink. I stopped by Black Cat Coffee recently for coffee. I got a Medium 12 oz Hot Coffee ($3 plus tax) which was very very hot and definitely needed a cardboard hot drink sleeve from the creamer & sweetener station. The service here was prompt. The coffee was brewed just right and no bitter taste, even drinking it black. I took advantage of the free wifi to catch up on news while enjoying my hot breakfast food I picked up from another cafe with my hot coffee.

Such an adorable place with really good food. Unfortunately, the service we experienced today was…read moreextremely disappointing. We ordered three sandwiches, and at the time my husband placed the order, he was the only customer there. While we were waiting, two other customers came in, clearly friends of the cook and spent time chatting with her about everything from yoga classes to NYC's Mamdami. After their conversation, they placed their order and received their food before we did, as well as before another couple who had also been waiting. It was frustrating and honestly disappointing to see others served first despite arriving later. We've visited before and had a lovely experience, which makes this even more unfortunate. I believe the woman assisting us at that time may have been the owner or a manager, which makes the situation more concerning. It's a shame because the space and food are wonderful, but today it felt like you need to personally know the cook to receive timely service.

The cutest little cafe & market we ever did see! "We would come here all the time if we lived in…read morethe area!" ... Is something I said out loud multiple times during our visit. They market side of the business stocks hyper-local produce & products from arugula to heirloom tomatoes to ceramic mugs to creamed honey. We picked out two perfectly ripe peaches & a bundle of garlic scapes to take home. The cafe portion has options galore. We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw a gluten-free fried chicken sandwich on the menu. The very sweet cafe worker told us that it was the best fried chicken sandwich she's ever had, gluten-free or otherwise. So we had absolutely no choice but to order two sandwiches, for science. I also ordered an iced latte with oat milk. While we waited for our order, we sat inside at one of the tables by the window. This allowed us some time to appreciate the vibe of Random Harvest. We were sitting, essentially, right in the produce section of the market, but it was still comfortable & warm (literally & figuratively.) I noticed quite a few posters on the bulletin board for upcoming events, local artists, local music, etc. It seems like there's a really great community there. When our sandwiches arrived, we had to snap a few photos. It all just looked so good - & it was! The latte was smooth & balanced. The sandwich was delectable. The pickle was the perfect touch. It seems like a very random place for such a cool business to be situated (perhaps the reason for the name) & I'm so glad we stopped. If we're ever in the area again, we will absolutely be back for another gluten-free fried chicken sandwich! Also - I sautéed the garlic scapes at home a few days later in butter, salt, & pepper. They were phenomenal.

The sirloin patty is juicy and beefy, nestled in the softest of brioche buns. The bacon jam just takes it next level. Pricey but worth it. The fries are hand cut and chefs kiss. Note they put salt and pepper on their fries so if you have kids who may not like spicy black pepper, make sure to let them know. Love the side of the road burger shack vibes and there is lots of outdoor dining space and picnic tables. Very kid friendly and open fields for them to run around. It can be a bit of a wait as the food is cool to order but worth it. A must try!

It rained halfway through our meal and they were nice enough to give us trays so we ran into our car to finish the meal. We had the best fries I think I've ever had. They have many choices and we chose the garlic. Crispy, slightly chewy, sweet garlic all over the fries with the addition of very small edible flowers. This addition made them truly special. I don't think I've had fries like that before in my life. There were crunchy bits and soft parts and perfectly cooked. I had a hotdog and the bun was split and grilled. My hubby had the Cubano Panini. He loved it. It was just a great meal. The addition of raspberry mint iced tea made to order. Was stupendous. Seriously. We are going back again today.
