25 years in Morris County and today was the first time at Olde Towne Deli. Saw TeamTaylorNJ post about it and we were in the area so we stopped. We ordered two TECs and a TEEC (IYKYK- Taylor Ham, Egg and cheese and a Taylor Ham double egg and cheese) and on a whim we grabbed a small container of macaroni salad. While prices have gone up since TeamTaylorNJ did his review in Instagram, the prices are still pretty good - $6.50 for the TEC, $7.25 for the TEEC. This place is a little out of the way for me, HOWEVER, the sandwich was better than my go-to place. They cooked the meat until there was a little char and it seemed like two slices of cheese vs one at my normal place. If this place wasn't in the opposite direction of work for me I'd be here once a week. Don't expect flashy here, this is an old school NJ deli...(seriously, WHY is this my first time here?!?). No bagel sandwiches here, only Kaiser rolls. They only take cash, but they have an ATM. The folks behind the counter get were super friendly and helpful. I will 100% be back here soon. read more

The day we went here was the first day they did hashbrowns on a breakfast sandwich which was incredible, but needs hot sauce! Im only basing my review on their bagels since that's all i ever usually ordered from them. The staff is very friendly and care about their customers. The bagels are probably the least expensive in town but dont quote me on that. They're not really a bagel shop though so they only carry a limited supply every day so make sure you get there a little early if thats what you're looking for. Also if you dont have money at the moment, they usually let you pay another time. I only wish they didnt have that $10 minimum on credit cards but Im not going to ding them for that. Heard a lot about this place and their pork roll (mostly from my wife) and finally tried it today. They have a parking lot but you can park on the street and walk there. Service is excellent. It's pretty decently priced. $6 for the sandwich. I've never seen so many pieces of Taylor ham being made at the same time. It is very very good. We got one with the roll and one with bagel. We like the roll better. By the way it is cash only. For $6, I don't know if I would want to eat anywhere else. Can't believe we have lived here for 17 years and never tried this place. read more

This is a very old and well established business. It's also a very dated business and you can tell just by all the accumulated fixtures and how tight the spacing in the store. It's standing room only. And every price of equipment is old, and the griddle the cook on is this small grill top. But the churn out some breakfast sandwiches in record time from scratch. I was looking for a place to grab a quick lunch while in Boonton the other day and landed at the Olde Towne Deli. It's an old school sub and sandwich spot with a lot of character. Fantastic staff that are proud of their establishment as they should be. They serve a very well constructed sub. I ordered the #10. Ham, capicola and salami. Good bread, just the right amount of meat and toppings. They told me that they are famous for their Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwiches. I look forward to trying one the next time I'm in the area. Order 4 different 4ft sandwiches. 4 pounds of cookies, salad, macaroni salad and potato salad. The food was for a VERY large party. All the sandwiches were amazing. I had to try each one, the bread was off the hook. The macaroni salad was one of the best I have ever had. Now the service. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the people and service. You know I've been living under a rock until my boyfriend took me to this place and OH MY GOD I can literally burst with how obsessed I am with their BEC on a hard roll with some mayo and hot sauce (don't know it till you try it). He's been coming here since he was just a kid and now we go almost every Sunday. What he really likes is how authentic this place still is, such a humble owner and staff and the prices are literally the best part (and in this economy?????). The place is mostly for pick up so you can't really dine in but thats okay NO ONE NEEDS TO SEE HOW I DEVOUR MY BEC in less than 20 seconds. I think I would have preferred more "meat" in the bagel, but I think it's not different than the other bagel places in the area. We ordered a Taylor ham egg and cheese on a roll, scrambled egg potato and pepper jack cheese on a roll, and over easy egg potato and cheese on a roll - all were made perfectly! I love that the rolls are extremely fresh and perfectly sized. There is no seating inside so you have to take your food to go, but everything was packaged well. We were visiting my wife's cousin in Boonton and some friends of hers said we had to try the Taylor egg & at Olde Towne Deli. The day before we had some absolutely amazing TH & egg sandwiches from Road House Deli so I was excited to check out Olde Towne. Apparently this is a Boone institution with families coming here for generations. It definitely looks like it has been around for a while and could probably use an update. It's basically a deli counter with not much room for dining there. The staff were very friendly though and efficiently took the orders from everyone in the place. It's not very big but it was pretty crowded and it seemed that most of the people were local since the staff knew many of them. Very inconveniently though they only accept cash. With even food trucks accepting credit cards now via square I thought this to be extremely odd. We took our sandwiches to go and I anxiously unwrapped it when I got home. Unfortunately I have to say that the tayor ham, egg, & cheese sandwich i had the day before was MUCH better than Olde Towne. It wasn't bad but perhaps if I hadn't had the one the day before I would have thought it was better. I teach in town and have had lunch sandwiches from here (excellent) but never their world famous breakfast sandwiches (I don't eat Taylor ham but my husband does!). Came here to try out a Jersey classic, taylor ham egg & cheese. Officially hooked. Ham adds an element worth driving into NJ for. The sandwich was perfect, I am sure they'd do a standard BEC right as well...this is a 5/5 deli. Ratios were on point, cheese melted, good ingredients. Not sure what all the hype is about this place. The food was mediocre but the place itself is quite disgusting. Everything, and I mean everything is dirty whether it be the countertops, the display glass for the egg salad / macaroni / etc. There's an old fax machine to the left of the cooktop that has a layer of dust from like 1990. I really wasn't impressed by it. Not to mention that while they do wear gloves, they don't change them between handling money or cooking and touching all the dirty surfaces - what's the point of the gloves then? Thrillist agrees as well, and you know what? I agree, too. The TH is super thin sliced and fried until crispy, then piled on thick, and has the perfect cheese/egg ratio as well. I prefer mine with just black pepper, and they're not shy with it, which I also love. The hard rolls they get are perfect too, hard on the outside and just a bit chewy on the inside. The people are warm and welcoming, it's your classic jersey deli. Coffee in white styrofoam cups, crowded, and cash only. You know it's legit as soon as you walk in.
