Consistent great food and service! I opted for a cheeseburger and unsweetened iced tea. Our friendly waitress came with a smile. Ordered the big cheese: basically a cheeseburger with your choice of cheese and comes with fries, coleslaw and pickle. The place was busy on a Tuesday evening. The bar was full and tables were mostly occupied. This is a great place to go if you want a delicious meal, drinks and/or apps. They do have specials and the menu covers both pastas and other various ethnic eats among the traditional Irish fare Le olde village inn serves. The Dublin fish and chips is pretty authentic, a single huge portion of battered haddock and fries. You can also get it baked. Wings, nachos, French onion soup, pizza, pastas, they have a good selection of items for whatever you're craving. Our orders are always correct and the food is at the right temperatures. Other than the solid delicious food, they make you feel welcomed and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. It's a pub where locals and tourist come to visit. OVI is a Nyack staple. It's an Irish pub that's been around for years and for good reason! I stopped in here today after walking the Nyack Street fair for a drink and a quick bite. I ordered the chicken fingers because I was going for simplicity. Let me tell you - these "chicken fingers" were not the ordinary chicken fingers you'd get at any other restaurant or bar. My plate had 4 big chicken cutlets. They were hot, fresh and perfectly breaded and fried. Zero complaints. I ate them so fast I forgot to take a pic. If you're looking for an authentic Irish pub, well here ya' go! The waitresses are quick and friendly and they make sure your glass doesn't stay empty too long. (They have a bunch of good beers on tap. Including many Irish faves!) We walked in on a Wednesday night around 6:30pm, by 7pm the tables were all full. Note to self. It's got a nice bar where you can sit and feel like you belong here or find one of the booths and get comfortable. We went with the booth. We ordered two Specials, the Corned Beef on rye with Irish nacho fries (fully loaded) and Shrimp over Penne. Now why would someone order Shrimp Penne at an Irish place? I don't know. But he did, and let me tell you, it was sooooo good! My corned beef came with a side of homemade coleslaw. Really good, finely chopped, a little sweet but refreshing too. The server brought sour cream to go with the nacho fries. Good idea! We ended it with the fresh bread pudding (as if I needed more of anything!) WARNING, it's got a strangely large amount of fruit. Like bananas, peaches and apples. Nice. A little strange. But I never met a carb I didn't like. All in all, I was happy. It's a little noisy, loud music and everyone shouts to be heard above it. What a horrible experience I had at this place. I arrived and sat down and no one said hello. Maybe it's because the entire place is WHITE. So I sat down waiting 10 minutes for someone to approach me, during the 10 min wait two WHITE men came in and right away was asked " hey what can I help you guys with from another waitress with brown reddish hair." I was really close to leaving this establishment a minute later, until a white blonde bartender said "do you think I am ignoring you" I responded back saying " yeah you are I am waiting for a drink." I was referred by another restaurant called 1840 Tavern in West Nyack. This gentleman that worked at the restaurant told me to go check out this place. So I did, and this is the experience I've had. The reality is money has no color, I also am a different skin color. I still pay my bills and pay taxes, but DO NOT TREAT PEOPLE DIFFERENT THAT IS NOT WHITE. Oh by the way I even gave the blonde older woman 25% tip off of 1 beer, because we all work. I do not have hate against anyone, but if you are NOT WHITE do not come here. You will get treated differently. By the way isn't Nyack full of Non white people? We should all love each other at the end of the day, because this world sucks and we all should be treated equally. Visiting Olde Village Inne back in December with some friends. It is located in the downtown area of Nyack. It is a dive bar and since we had visited in December it was all nicely decorated for the holidays. Their menu had a variety of bar food. I had ordered the shepherds pie-- first time having it and it was delicious! My sister had ordered the fish and chips and she had enjoyed her meal. We had a great time while at Olde Village Inne and service was good. The World Cup was also on and it was exciting to watch with all the other people at the bar! The traditional Irish dishes served here are like no other place in the county. The Dublin Fish and chips are perfect. I even ventured to the Calves Liver, Bacon and Onions, which was great. The OVI is a local pub with a good sized fully stocked bar, with well prepared cocktails, several draft beers and a full dining room! When we first came in, we saw a few patrons at the bar as we were ushered inside to our reserved seating - which was a number of tables pushed together - in the otherwise empty space. By the time we left, there wasn't an empty table! The server - Leone - took very good care of out group. She was helpful, patient and very efficient. There was a "Specials menu" available as well as the regular menu that had great options. Mostly we chose from the regular menu: French Onion Soup. Shepherds Pie, Chicken Pot Pie, Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips. Excellent all around. And it's easy to get to - so we expect to be returning! read more

Food here is pretty terrible I've gotten the fish and chips, burger, and beef stew at various (3) visits. I wanted to love this place so bad but the food is just terrible. Small place so seating is limited. Servers were very nice every time. I witnessed a server do something that was mind boggling. An adult came in with his kid (8 y/o) for dinner. They sat them at a table for two. When a booth for 4 opened up they then moved the Adult and child into the booth and turned away a group of 4 Adults who left the establishment. I came here with an old high school chum after walking around Nyack on a beautiful warm October day recently. I have passed this place so many times over the years but never really heard anything about it so I was curious. We were nicely greeted and took a booth in the rear area. OVI has a nice old Irish bar charm but it being early in the day, I didn't try the beer. Our waitress was funny and accommodating, she recommended the bangers and mash, which was a special, over the steak sandwich. She explained that the bangers were new that day and the steak was from the day before so........ At least she was honest! She also mentioned a soup of the day, potato leek I think, but came back to tell me that the chef hadn't made it yet, this seemed strange to me since it was almost 1:00pm by this time. My friend had a turkey burger which he ate quickly but later told me that it was bland. My bangers turned out to be 4 small breakfast sized sausages that were nearly tasteless in a sea of overly whipped up potatoes, almost a liquid with some bland gravy. I make this dish myself at home way better so I expect a pub to at least match it! The kicker was the bill total came to $45 with the tip. The burger was $13, no apps. drinks or sides, so how much could the bangers special be?! We enjoyed our time together so the meal didn't put me off too much but I can't see returning here. Too bad because I really wanted to like this place. Was it just a bad day for the kitchen? Oh yeah, the waitress told me that the soup was now ready as we were walking out the door, funny. read more

PROS: this place was a very nice dive bar. The staff was friendly and the place has a nice layout. The food was great since it was fresh and priced just right with a good variety. CONS: it took forever for the food to come out and it was just myself and one other person eating there. The bathroom also smelt like body odor. Not even a normal bad smell bathrooms have, this was body odor. OVERALL: hold it in and don't use the bathroom and have patience with the kitchen and you'll enjoy it here read more

We tried this quaint Irish Pub for Sunday evening summer dinner. We were warmly greeted, given the cocktail / beer menu by our cheery server Nichol. We sat in a booth in the back and it was comfortably quiet with the jukebox box music playing and two TVs with ladies basketball with no sound but had captions. I ordered a Moscow Mule and he had a half and half beer. Great start! My groom to be ordered the chicken wings and pronounced that they were the best he ever had. He will be doing take out of them in the future. 10 wings in an order with blue cheese and celery. He also had the onion soup and garden salad (very large!) and both very good. I had the Shepards Pie and have eaten that many times both in pubs and my homemade. This was one of the best I've had and so filling! Hubby to be will be finishing that off for lunch. We met the owner and she's a sweetheart, she was cleaning plates and helping to serve table drinks. Very hands on and delightful. Came here for New Years, to ring in 2023. Although it was packed, the security at the door was checking ID and making sure everyone was good. There were two bar tenders, one younger and one older. The younger bar tender was on the move, making sure everyone had what they needed. He was efficient and helpful. The older bartender was just lost. We would be talking to him and he would ignore us. Asked him for a box and he gave it to someone else. Got our wings out pretty quick and they were crispy! Tasted good overall. read more

What an absolute joke. One waitress sits us down and says another will be there shortly to take our order. Immediately a second waitress comes and says they will not serve us because "she is leaving soon." The place is open until 12am and we get denied service at 10:43pm. The kitchen is open very late even during the week and during the weekend. Visited OVI again on my annual Christmas get together with a friend. It was awesome as always. The staff is friendly and welcoming. It's still that small Irish pub atmosphere that I described in my previous review. This visit we had the Irish nachos and the pizza. Still as good as I remember The Irish nachos are a plate of crispy fries topped with monterey jack cheese, bacon pieces and scallions. Then shoved under the broiler to melt the cheese and add a little extra "crispiness" to everything. The pizza is also good. Not a traditional NY style pizza at all. But it has a thin crispy crust and is super satisfying. I totally crave it when I am away sometimes. I recently learned that they have been open since 1994 and is "now Nyack's Historical longest established Pub." Interesting. This place is definitely nostalgic for me as I used to come here all the time after a night in Nyack when I lived in the area, and now I have a tradition of catching up with friends who also moved away during the holidays, but even if you don't have history with the place they have a large diverse menu, serve food till 3am and have a welcoming atmosphere. read more

Marie warms up a little but the rest of the staff is cold and rude and the guy that's been there for a while with longer hair is rude and has no personality as a bartender at all. Only nice to his friend and even then seems weirdly distant. This could be such a good bar and they bank on how long they've been here and not service or treating people well. This comes from someone in the business. It's overrated all a round and they don't care. You could at relax fire friendly bar tenders that make an effort and decide if you're going f to offer buybacks or be a prick if you don't know how often they come. This place is a historic gem of the Hudson Valley. The staff is superb. The food is fresh and delicious. I absolutely love their pizza. It's got a nice traditional Irish pub feel. I didn't notice TVs around, but it's a chill spot to drink. Good prices on drinks. Be careful of the jukebox. I paid to play some songs, and they never came on, and they were not on the list to be played either. The staff couldn't help, and wouldn't refund. I felt like I got scammed. read more
