There's street parking or a large parking lot across the street. Free after 7. Everything I've had here is delicious. We came recently with colleagues to celebrate a special event. My favorite cocktail is still the port Old Fashioned... possibly because I won't try others. Wines are good here too. The hamachi, tuna and gnudi appetizers were outstanding. So flavorful, fresh, balanced. All three were different and simply so good. At the table this evening, we tried short rib, steaks, Brussels sprouts, beet salad, lentil pea soup and my favorite, the Berkshire pork chop. OMG, that chop is unlike anything else... and they consistently execute it. Crisp, seasoned exterior, amazing juicy interior. Served on a medley of assorted beans, peppers and chorizo. It's hard to order anything else when it's this good. With 7 of us at the table, we ordered 8 desserts. They're that good here. I tried a special this evening, which was a blueberry pudding something with a crust and ice cream on it, and I don't know. It was yummy and creamy and blueberry yumminess. We all know how much Ketile One is pour the extra ounce. And when you bring the wine caraf, fill it to 5he top. As the apps came, I noticed there was no bread, so I asked for some. This place has the full package: food, service, and ambiance all came as the holy trifecta. The gnudi were insane and the polpo was the most tender I've ever had. The strip steak was incredible but the duck was a little dry and overcooked especially for medium rare but the dish was well crafted. We had such a great dinner here last night. The restaurant is super cozy with a small bar right at the front, making it feel both inviting and intimate. The tables are spaced out so well that you're never on top of other guests, which I really appreciated. On top of that, the playlist was on point, adding to the relaxed but stylish atmosphere. The service was on point the whole night, making the experience even better. We kicked things off with bone marrow for me and grilled Spanish octopus plus the chef's special carrot parsnip soup for my date. Everything was delicious. The bone marrow was rich and buttery, exactly how it should be. For the entrée, I had the chef's special lamb chops, and they were fantastic. Perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and so tender. My date ordered the grilled hanger steak, which looked just as good. Judging by how quickly it disappeared, I'd say it was a hit. Dessert was a little all over the place in the best way. I had the sticky toffee pudding cake, which I really liked. We also tried the crack pie, but I wasn't a huge fan of that one. Not bad, just not for me. Then there was a mystery dessert. I tried looking it up, but nothing on the menu matched what we had. Whatever it was, it was really good, so I'm guessing it was another chef's special. Solid meal all around. Dear Yelp, PLEASEEEE allow me to rate Hudson House with more than 5 stars because 5 stars is just not enough to rate the quality of food, service and ambiance of The Hudson House. I have been going to Hudson House since I was 12 years old and the quality, creativity and passion for elevating seasonal ingredients has never changed. It has been a Nyack NY staple for as long as I can remember, even some of the servers are the same! They truly take the time to perfect each dish and are very attentive to each customer. The locals are like family at Hudson House, they remember small details about their customers. Hudson House has heart and soul. The ambiance gives quiet luxury and a rustic charm. It's not pretentious, it's intimate and remains with its humble charm. I usually go for dinner and get the braised beef short rib with creamy polenta and baby carrots. It's a rich, stick to your ribs sort of meal, would 100% recommend. The butternut squash soup is creamy, sweet and light. My friend had a half roasted chicken with pickled peppers and asparagus which was also equally as tasty as the short rib and juicy. I am a sweets girly so I obvi ordered more than one to try. The sticky toffee pudding IS A MUST. The banana cream pie was okay but if you like banana cream pie, you'll enjoy it. The orange cake was so flavorful and surprising. They also gave a tasting sample of an apple dessert which was amazing. The pastry chef is usually inspired and tries new recipes all the time so they give a small sample of a new dessert that would most likely make the seasonal menu. Anyway, if you have read this far then you have must be interested in trying the restaurant and now you have to go! It's a great place to treat yourself, special occasions and more. Was looking for a dining experience and came across Hudson House. Went in for Mother's Day as their menu was excellent. We had a reservation and got seated immediately. We had our drinks and our server came, his name was Greg! Greg made our experience amazing. He not only explained the menu but was also very attentive. He also cleaned our table every time we get our food/drinks. We started with drinks, it was fantastic but a bit pricey. We had an amazing food! (Chefs kiss) for apps we got some salads and soups for entree, we got hanger steak, scallops, branzino and beef braised short ribs. We tried mostly everything for dessert (some pictures were not included) Ambiance was also good and the place was clean! The owner, Mr. Hudson was great and thanked us for dining with them. He was also very nice and helped servers clean up! The total of what we ate was a bit pricey, for 8 cocktails, 5 apps, 5 entrees and 5 dessert came to almost $750 including the tip. Excellent!! after roaming around the fabulous Nyack street fair yesterday we popped in for a Perfect pint at Olde Village inn, we asked the bartender for a recommendation for dinner and Caroline recommended The Hudson house. The menu looked amazing and we're excited but we're worried we weren't dressed appropriately, Caroline insured us we woke fit in just fine. I personally love to dine at the bar when possible especially with a great bartender like Izzy. We were the first ones there by accident which can feel funny but Izzy was so warm and welcoming and very eager to meet us and tell us about the epic menu and the show stopping desserts. We told Izzy our drink preferences and he nailed it each drink. We started with a dozen oysters that were incredible and shocked perfectly. Then followed that with the bone marrow which had a tasteful amount of chimichurri sauce and a side of crunchy salt to use for your liking. It was delicious! We were temped to next get the octopus but needed room for the "bar only specials" which is a brilliant idea very unique. It was a wagu blend cheese burger with arugula and a delicious black garlic spread and perfectly cooked fries. Perfect for sharing! A dinner isn't complete without an espresso martini! I highly recommend this place to any food enthusiast and fan of wine, spirits and excellent desserts. Lastly the decor was also amazing. The chef's not only designs top notch desserts he also did the wood work art along the bar. I also loved the pictures of all the people in the back of the restaurant over the course of there decades of business. Lastly the history is incredible it use to be the village hall and jailhouse! They incorporated the jail into a wine cellar that seats two people for a fun drink before or after dinner. Highly give this place a 10 out of 10 for excellent food, drink, service and vibes! My boyfriend took me here for Valentine's Day. We arrived early but were warmly greeted and seated promptly by Matt Hudson, the owner. The service is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere and lighting is low key, relaxing and just wonderful. The food is spectacular from the fresh oysters to the surf n turf from the special menu of the evening. When you travel, you seek to find outstanding restaurants. Sometimes you win, other times, you don't. The Hudson House is a great find, a winner at every turn! From our initial greeting by the owner, Matt, to the great staff who didn't miss a beat, to the most critical part, the food, there wasn't a moment of regret. We started with a couple of tables shares. We had cheese plate with 3 cheeses, homemade fig jam to die for, fresh thinly sliced honeycrisp apples, delicious grapes, and an oil-infused crustini. Perfect start, followed by the burrata and pumpkin seed salad with carmelized pears and sweet potato chunks. I didn't think it could get better after this. I tried the sweet potato and fennel soup, very warm and hearty on a cold night, and the taste was just as I hoped! A beet and farro salad with radishes hit the mark! My partner had a fresh halibut that was cooked to perfection, served on ramen noodles and baby bok choy, with an array of fresh mushrooms, with a gentle but flavorful broth, but not enough to be called soup. To me, one of the best fish dishes I've tasted in a long time. Our guests, the wedding couple, ordered duck breast confit, and hanger steak. The duck, one of her favorites, was tender, most, cooked properly and seasoned well. It was a hit with her and her mother. The hanger steak was the choice of the groom, a very picky eater. He couldn't stop reaching about how amazing it was! Sadly, we were so full, we couldn't eat dessert. All the desserts are homemade by the owner, and they sounded unbelievable. But I'll have to return another time to speak to them. Finally, ask to sit in the jail cell. The pictures tell only some of the story. Absolutely Fantastic! This historic family owned restaurant (31 years) is outstanding. As soon as you walk in you're promptly greeted by a family member. The menu has a great variety of well prepared foods. On this Thanksgiving night there was a fixed priced 3 course dinner. The turkey was tender and flavorful. I am not one to easily impress this much but a week later and we are still talking not only about the great meal, drinks and service but how the staff made us truly feel like we were in a hallmark Christmas movie ! We were passing through this area on our holiday travels and after traffic we decide to stop for the night nearby. Based on the reviews and menu being very vegetarian friendly with what looked like a great variety and unique dishes, we decided to call for reservations just 30 minutes out on a Thursday night . The gentleman on the phone answered enthusiastically and was very friendly and said they had a spot for two at the bar. When we arrived the same friendly and most welcoming atmosphere was given by a lady that greeted us and the bar tender as well From start to finish this was hands down one of the best dining experience we have had in a long time. We had the gnuddi and Caesar as appetizers Excellent ! I had the gnocchi My husband had the ribeye special by suggestion from a gentleman siting next to him at the bar. Drinks were well crafted and the level of care and detail showed in every aspect of our meal and overall experience. If you know the very famous bistro in NYC Raoul's then who should know that this spot housed Raoul's first restaurant in Nyack, NY also called Raoul's. The servers all seem like pros, not too many rookies in there. The vibe is chill, the ambiance is clean- one open room with small, quaint bar in front. I was looking for a restaurant I haven't tried in Nyack and was going though Yelp to see what popped up. I know that due to COVID several restaurants I've been to up there unfortunately closed. It was a close to when they open at 5 pm so I called them to see if if they had any opening. I spoke with one of the owners Amy who said they could fit us in. Unfortunately when I arrived Amy had left for the day so I could not thank her. In reading the description from the business I was glad that it told a story and it seemed like a journey. The restaurant is located in the former village hall and jailhouse. The wine cellar is located in the old jailhouse which you can see and ask to walk into. The restaurant has outside dining on the street and a few outside tables in the back of the restaurant. There is a good amount of tables inside and by the time I left the palace was packed. This place was a great find! Everything from the food to the decor to the service was outstanding. We spoke to several people there who were extremely accommodating. Our waiter Gregg was awesome and took a great amount of pride in his work. He was genuinely friendly, introduced himself, asked our names and throughout the dinner addressed us by our names which makes the experience more personal. This was a nice touch that most people in sales fail to do. We had the Ahi Tuna Poke which was great! You could taste all the individual flavors. For dinner we had the roasted Scottish salmon which was served with curry flavored roasted cauliflower. Nice spin to make this dish from other restaurants. We also had the the DPNB spinach gnocchi pasta with tiger shrimp. Once again great dish and it was filling. They are know for their deserts as the chef makes his own and has specials as well. The one thing is everyone else says is to leave room for desert. We had the black bottom banana cream pie which I believe has been on the menu for the 31 years they're in business. We also had one of the special deserts which was like blueberry muffin with vanilla ice cream . Both were great. I would highly recommend them and it's great to see that almost all the reviews they have on Yelp Are very positive.
