Went back here last night and the people are just rude. We were there on the later side, ordered food and drinks no problem. Was told the kitchen was closing around 9:45 and asked if we needed anything else. We didn't. Promptly at 10 then turned the lights up, started sweeping and putting chairs up on the tables. We were finishing our beers, and not camping out by any means. When we left I said sorry for overstaying our welcome and the bartended made some snarky comment back. Regretting leaving a 22% tip. I won't be back, even if the burgers are good. read more

This is my favorite burger place right now, and my husband agrees the fries are the best! They're attached to a microbrewery so you can drink a good beer while you eat and they have delicious milkshakes. The vibes here are super chill/ sports bar and the service is always friendly and fast. I'm pretty sure they don't take rez but you can call ahead if you're worried about being seated. Upon entering the establishment, we did notice that the ambience is very basic, and there is not much decor on the wall besides the back wall, which is filled to the brim with wall art. The rest of the establishment is very basic nothing on the walls, nothing very inviting. The outside of the place definitely doesn't look like it is a food establishment. It reminds me of a space that somebody would be temporarily renting. Upon entering, we were told by one of the waiters to sit wherever we'd like. The waiters were standing at the front of the establishment, and they looked more like bouncers or security. We sat down and our waiter came over and we did ask questions about the menu to which the waiter told us to scan the code on the table. We asked if they had a specific type of grapefruit beer and he had absolutely no idea about anything on the menu.. We did end up ordering a beer which he had forgotten to bring and we did have to ask about it again. When the beer finally came, it did taste good. We ordered barbecue and buffalo wings as appetizers, which come only on the bone. These wings were very delicious. For dinner we each ordered a hamburger. The blue cheese hamburger as well as a regular bacon cheeseburger. The fries are not included so you do have to order a side of fries if you are going to want that. The burgers are all made on the premise. I wasn't crazy about it and I've definitely had better. The blue cheese hamburger was enjoyable and did taste better. What I didn't like was that the french fries were brought out well before the burgers. A pro however, is that the price is very reasonable! Overall, food was good but we did expect more considering this place is known as the burger loft and the reviews were very good and high. The service was not good as the waiter wasn't familiar with the menu and it was not busy AT ALL in there and we felt like we did have to wait a while for anyone to come check on us. read more

The food has always been on point, except for the Mac and cheese. It's pretty bad in my opinion. However the fries and chicken cutlet taste like they use fresh oil! I've only had one bad experience with the service. If by chance you're not feeling a burger, I recommend switching out the burger patty for their chicken cutlet, it's delicious. "Huge mistake, huge!" The famous quote from Julia Robert's character in the 1980's film "Pretty Woman," comes to mind when thinking of an incident that occurred today at this restaurant. We are visiting the Nyack Street Fair, and it is very hot out so I sent my adult teen daughter into the Burger Loft to get a drink and cool off since she is a heart failure patient and needs to stay hydrated. She sat down since she was feeling a bit like she might have a little bit of heat exhaustion, and was feeling a little woozy. She was trying to decide what drink to purchase when two employees approached asking if she was going to buy anything, to which she replied, "not yet." They said she would have to leave if she was not purchasing right then. She told them she was having heat stroke and they said she'd have to leave and walked closer. She repeated the same thing that she was having a medical issue and they said she had to leave "right now." My daughter left, came over to me and explained what happened, so I sent her to another local restaurant called "My Father's House," where they left her cool off, were kind, and provided her with a giant watermelon drink for free. I work in communications and in public service and there are two ways to do things. You can be crass and only think about the dollar signs OR you can be kind and caring and provide a good product and when your customers walk out the door, they plan to come back (see you tonight Your Father's House.) So, Burger Loft, thank Heavens my kid did not pass out in your restaurant from dehydration and suffer heart failure or hit her head. Thank Heavens because not only would it have been an ambulance ride, it would've been a helicopter ride to CHOP in Philadelphia so the transplant team could evaluate. I'm so glad that she is okay. You should remember this review not because of us, but because of future customers who walk in your door - every person's life is like a book with unseen chapters, and your presence in their story could be the turning page that alters their future. I know for a fact that today affected yours because as frequent travelers (and food lovers) to the Nyack area, we love to give our money, our business, and our support to restaurants who treat the people who walk in their doors like friends and neighbors and not dollar signs - like you did today. The food here is always amazing! We always order a burger and salad. All of the burgers are delicious. Definitely recommend the butterfly burger. The salads are also delicious. They serve you enough to fill you up and the salads are hearty. The chopped and green salads are my fave so far. The place is nice and clean and spacious. Great place to go to grab a quick dinner. First time at Burger Loft and it was great! Good juicy burger, (not dripping with grease,) fresh mushrooms and really good fries. Fish tacos also very good with homemade coleslaw. Tried the Mac and cheese as a side and it was exceptional. Creamy cheeses and cooked on grill so nice crunchy outside. Lots of beers to choose from and cocktails looked amazing.
