You can't beat being right on the main street *and* right on the water, which you can see from a few different viewpoints. When you enter at street level it's a shop, with wine and a selection of vintage cookbooks for sale. There's a big open room with comfy chairs and huge windows that look right out over the harbor, which I can imagine being a cozy vantage point in the fall or winter. In summer the main action is actually downstairs--yes, that steep staircase is the right direction--where there's a bar and more tables, a corner for musicians, and a wonderful outdoor bar setup where you can perch on a stool and gaze right out at the water. And you're not going to want to leave, because friendly owner Laura knows her stuff and will help you find the absolutely *perfect* glass of wine from an inventive selection of bottles and glasses, as well as daily specials like sangria. I appreciate how she asked what I like and then came up with something I hadn't had before that was delicious. You can nosh on charcuterie boards, olives, quiche, chocolate, and other little snacks like that, which to my mind = dinner, so why go anywhere else?
