I have been a loyal customer for 30 years, but after today's experience, I will not be returning. My family and I came in for dinner and witnessed another table send a plate back because the order was incorrect. A short time later, our server brought that same plate to our table. The food was cold and had clearly been sitting out. We had watched the other table handle and pick at the food before it was taken back to the kitchen, making it shocking and unacceptable that it was then served to us. As a long-time customer, I know the food here is normally served fresh and sizzling hot. This plate was anything but. What made the experience even worse was the way our concerns were handled. When we brought the issue to our server's attention, she was rude, offered no meaningful explanation or apology, and largely ignored our table for the remainder of our visit. Serving food that was returned from another customer's table is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about food safety and sanitation. Combined with the poor customer service, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have ever had. Food is good; portions have gotten smaller over the years. Bbq chicken is my favorite. But the service is terrible. Was 3 minutes ahead of my party of 4 as they were taking the elevator. I walk in and ask for a table. Only one table is taken in the whole restaurant and they tell me to wait for the rest of my party. Then they bring the food out on the trays. We ordered family style so we took the food off the first tray while they brought out the rest of the food. Two waitresses come back with our other two trays of food and I'm holding the first tray off to the side in the walkway, waiting for them to take it and they drop down our food and walk away. So I have to get up and put the trays on a neighboring table. They're rushing away to go watch TV or eat (in view of the customers). Just really poor customer service. read more

This place is my favorite Japanese place since the first time I ate here when my mom took me on 2009. We've been coming here so often that the previous owner became our friend. She always treat us nicely and gave us extra food whenever we dine-in or take out. The food taste so good and the serving is big. Money well spent. I took my wife here and she's hooked. A perfect hole in the wall place in J Town. The place looks small with a narrow walk in but it seats many people. I had the short ribs and it was served deliciously hot on a bed of shredded cabbage. My friends, bf and I decided to eat lunch here before having to catch our flight back to the bay. It hit the spot and calmed their hangry-ness. It sucks to be in a group of people who get hangry and you're the only person who isn't -everyone was snappy and irritated We got there before the lunch special ended and the big lunch crowd hit around 1:30p. My group thought the prices were average. ~$18 a plate w/sides I didn't have high expectations for a Korean spot in a Japanese area, so it was surprisingly good. We all ordered BBQ plates to share. Cuttlefish, short ribs, beef (can NEVER go wrong with bulgogi), and chicken. I have a suspicion that all of these used the same marinate just with different portions of gochujang, but they were all good. Flavor wise, it tasted pretty similar, but with a slight difference because of the types of meats/seafood used. We also ordered a couple bottles of lychee soju. I ordered a beef bbq bowl with a request for spicy level (there's mild, medium spicy, spicy, very spicy), something a little lighter in order to continue my stroll in the city afterwards. The meat and the portions were good, however the sauce was a little sweet and salty for me. While at the restaurant I noticed most patrons ordered the entrees serving with the sizzling plate, which seems to be a more popular choice. One thing I can say about this place is that we all really enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance! We ordered the galbi Korean short ribs and the salmon. Both entrees came with little side dishes of seaweed, bean sprouts, mini potatoes in a really yummy sauce, and of course...kim chi. The marinade on both the galbi meat and the salmon were delicious!! While visiting Little Tokyo, specifically the Japanese American Museum, the family and I were looking for a place to eat. All of the Japanese restaurants had a 45-60 minute wait and we were too hungry to wait. We ended up at this Korean restaurant. Holy cow, was it a great meal that I was not expecting. Pros: The Food. We ordered the bi bim bop, beef and chicken teriyaki, and of course all the ban chan. I can't say enough about the teriyaki dishes. Both meats were tender and grilled with great BBQ flavor and a nice char on the meat. This has left me wanting only great bbq from now on. So good. Service was nice and attentive. Prices were on par for the area if not a bit higher. Cons: The place is a bit small and not that perfect for large groups. There were 8 of us bit fit nicely in the back room. Anymore though and it would have been too much. Other seating is mainly for parties of 1-4. Will go back when I am in downtown/Japantown Los Angeles. read more
