    Mac-Nut Pesto Avocado Toast
    Jordan F.

Macnut pesto great flavor and enjoyed the calamansi squeeze. That was different but cut the richness. It worked well. Lox Bagel surprised me. Carrots instead of Salmon. It was tender and soft. I enjoyed the smoky flavor infused into it. Onion and capers always complement the dish well. And the cashew cream cheese spread so yummy. Açaí bowl was great and always hits. Really enjoyed my lemongrass and mint tea cold. Always love trying new things. Parking is available in the next parking over pass the ramp that leads to the condos. The cafe had a great vibe to it. I could sit and chill and people watch all day at this place lol 4/5 I enjoyed this place.

Peppy, local music playing in a sunny, clean, modern, air conditioned cafe... Could a healthy breakfast in Honolulu, Hawai'i ever get any better? Yes! Add in free parking! (Red Cafe next door doesn't open until 6pm. Park here and also in the stall marked for 'Olena Cafe.) Yessah!!! My friend, Donna O. told me about this place a while back. I went once and had a wonderful experience! My photos are buried in my phone, so, I decided to go again and get more delicious vegan cuisine! What I got today: 'Olena smoothie - very healthy because it's made with pineapple, banana, strawberry, orange, 'ōlena (tumeric), and alkaline water! 'Olena Bowl - the granola had real, WHOLE macadamia nuts! It was topped with fresh papaya, strawberry, blueberries, banana, and honey! The base was yellow because it's made with 'olena (tumeric) and banana. Yum! BLT sandwich - It's not your average Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato sandwich! The toasted whole grain bread was complex and filling! The dressing on the lettuce (garlic aioli) was a pop of flavor along with the bacocon (made from coconut)! Delicious! How do they make coconut taste so good? Now that I know they use vegan cheese, I'm going to return and get the Grilled Cheese sandwich next! Oh... And the Grilled Pesto Panini!

Everything, and I mean everything about this wonderful restaurant is wonderful. We felt fortunate that we found this place during a recent stay on Oahu. Olena Cafe is the single best place to have breakfast & lunch anywhere in Honolulu. It just is. Their food is outstanding, all plant-based and filled with love. You just can't find another restaurant like this anywhere on the island. It was about a 20 minute walk from our hotel, one we made every day to dine here for breakfast. Most days we'd order a couple of salads to have later for lunch. We tried as many things on the menu as we could in a relatively short period of time and everything we tried was fantastic. This place does not disappoint. It would have been worth a 2 hour hike to get here, yes, it's that good. The restaurant has ample seating, very clean and tidy. Great outdoor seating as well. We walked here everyday but noticed there was easy parking nearby. Service here is something else to be noted, they're delightfully friendly and helpful with suggestions or food allergy questions. It was just such a wonderful experience each time we visited. It felt very much like home restaurant, one you've been going to for years. The kindness and quality of their food really spoke to my wife and I and we're really grateful for our experiences here. We plan on returning to Honolulu again soon and Olena will be the first stop from the airport. Love, love this place. Whether you're near or far from their location, give them a try. It's worth the effort.

Delicious, fresh, local, vegan, everything your body needs and your heart didn't know it desired! This little gem of a salad and juice shop is located around the corner from the Convention Center, with a tiny bit of a walk. We ordered a crisp, crunchy salad and a hummous sandwich, both of which came with this tantalizing honey? and olena (tumeric) dressing. Outstanding food and very pleasant service. I would definitely return next time I am on Oahu.

Service is super slow here and it doesn't seem like they really care about that. They were very friendly to some and not so much to others. Food was okay and the prices are reasonable. Parking is scarce and it's better to park at ala Moana and walk. The ingredients are fresh and the place is clean.

Such a cute space! I came to grab a reusable bag and love the vibes of this lil coffee shop. They have lots of drink and food options available. I also grabbed an espresso over ice (they were out of cold brew) but the staff was super perky and nice. I was able to park under the Ala Moana Tower nearby. Olena is definitely on my list to check out as a future lunch & work space! I don't get out much anymore but I'm happy I get to support small local businesses when I do.

Whenever I visit a place, I prioritize those with toilet facilities available, so Olena Cafe was disappointing to find out they didn't have any. Additionally, the drinks were pre-packaged in bottles rather than made fresh on-site. Although there were seven options available, none offered a good balance of fruits and greens. I ended up purchasing the two drinks shown in the photo. I was further disappointed when I had to pay more because they didn't have the smaller size advertised. Typically, I only consume a quarter of a bottle of green juice so it was already too much. However, the service for everything else was good, and the ambiance was pleasant.

The quintessential health cafe. This place exudes healthy eating with a side order of serenity. We've been coming here about once/week for a quick healthy bite. My go to detox drink is the Energizer (kale, cucumber, chard, parsley, lemon). Like a wilted plant on a hot day, this drink makes my leaves unfurl and reach for the sun. The Tofu Salad with a sesame tamari ginger dressing is a generous portion of local greens, cucumber, carrots, daikon and organic tofu. This salad will keep you going until dinner without that after lunch food coma. On those days, when feeling dangerous, I reach for the ŌLENA WAFFLE (house-made waffle topped with local strawberries, banana, blueberries , 'ōlena granola and coconut whip, with side organic maple syrup (Gluten-Free) and chase it down with the Oli Oli Smoothie (strawberry, banana, date). Yeah it may trigger a slight insulin rush but it's what happens when you choose to live life on the vegan edge. They have a couple of tables outside for your COVID free enjoyment. Park at the old Jazz Mind Cafe. Can also phone in your order. Everything's made to order so it takes a little longer but well worth the wait. Happy Eating!!

Great if you're walking. Fast and friendly service. It's a open, bright, planty place.

The food is fresh seems like locally sourced from all the boxes I saw going in and out. Their juices are made daily and sandwiches made to order. I love this place flavorful and fresh!!!! I especially enjoy the olena Orange juice shot

I was introduced to this cafe by a friend and have added this to my regular spots. Parking is located in the old jazz minds lot. You can see a sign while driving on Kapiolani Blvd. I love their pressed juices! I am always looking for a healthy pick me up, and find their juices to be refreshing and good for you. I usually get the glow juice which is a mix of greens, ginger, fruit and olena (tumeric). I've also tried the vitamin sea which is great if you like minty drinks and the keep cool which tastes like fresh watermelon juice! They usually have a bunch already pre made, but they can make a flavor for you if it's not already in their fridge. Plus, if you bring your bottle back, you can get 25 cents off your next juice purchase! Love the sustainability of it. I've also tried the olena sunrise smoothie and the olena bowl. It does take a while to make, so phone order may be faster. However, you can tell how well made and thoughtful everything is! The real winner is the olena bowl which I had on my last visit. I've been a huge tumeric fan ever since the pandemic for its healing properties. I've never seen an olena bowl before and was absolutely blown away. The bowl was packed with fruits on top - bananas, papayas, strawberries, blueberries. The base of the bowl is a blended tumeric juice with fruits and is sooooo good. I never would have guessed, but the combo is just to die for. I'm craving it just writing about it! It's a unique type of smoothie bowl and I will def be back for more! It's super filling and worth every penny. Next, I'm hoping to try some food from them! Please check them out if you have not already!

    Olena Hummus wrap
    Jolene L.

I absolutely love restaurants that support our local farmers. There's nothing better than fresh Hawai'i produce, put together in such a delicious manner. The olena hummus wrap was superb! Stuffed with lots of crunchy greens, cucumbers, carrots, sprouts, onion, and avo. You absolutely MUST try this because it's ALL about their House Dressing! Delish! The olena sunrise smoothie was also very good. Kula grown strawberries, fresh pineapple, orange, banana, and olena of course. This was a nice blend, very healthy, and served in a cup made from plants and a certified compostable straw.....YES! Shout out to my friend Donna O. for encouraging me to try this. Mahalo also for the parking tip! Also, lucky for Victor H. he can get this tasty healthy stuff on a regular :) Congrats Olena Cafe, great job and best wishes!

Located on Kapiolani Blvd, across Papa John's/24hr Fitness, in the new Kapiolani Residences building. Cute cafe, free wi-fi, with a fresh and tasty menu! If you're here to work... apparently there's no public restroom and the WiFi password is on a post-it behind the register. Pros: -Great for a quick work session over coffee or a smoothie. -The food is really good! I'd say $9.25 for 1 slice of Avocado Toast, cut in half, is a little pricey... but still it was delicious! The other menu items are reasonable... like $8 for a smoothie but a BLT is $9.75 and looks way more hearty than my avocado toast. -Totally digging the playlist. Great song picks and I feel myself singing along to almost every one. Haha Cons: -No public restroom. Seriously. My friend said they usually give you a key to the building lobby but I was told "No"... So I guess don't plan to stay for long or drink a ton of coffee while you're here.

This might be one of the only places in Waikiki open at 4 AM which is perfect if you've just arrived the night before from the East Coast. The inside of the shop feels homey. They have a display case full of pastries along with additional baked goods set out nearby. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a coconut latte and then ordered a blueberry malasada while my father went with a custard-filled one. At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

It was less than three dollars including tax, so definitely affordable. The guava filling was great, but the donut itself was kind of bland. If it weren't so cheap, I would have given it three stars. I finished my drink within 5 minutes. I didn't order any food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. The menu is extensive with plenty of options, making it a great place for brunch whether you're craving something sweet or savory. This is the only standing Kulu Kulu and I hope this place does not close, or if it does relocate, come closer to Central Oahu where the rent is cheaper, haha (hint). This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries. I also plan to support this business for as long as I can and make more frequent trips to town just to get these amazing desserts.
