When I tried to ask a staff member for the restroom location, she gave me an annoyed look and snapped, "Your food is coming," before I could even finish my sentence. Blue Tree is located on the ground floor of Pacifica building. Not sure if there is parking available anywhere, but i went on a Sunday and there was free street parking all day. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of guests that were sitting inside were busy studying or doing something on their computers so we opted for outdoor seating. They are also dog friendly and have pup cups upon request. I ordered the Ube latte ($5) and lobster toast ($18). You can also do yelp check in which i forgot for 10% off. Both items that i got was very underwhelming. I probably would not order either items again, but i don't know if i would go here again since its a little bit of a hassle (parking wise) if there isnt validated parking. read more

I needed a spot to hang out and chat with my aunty, and Bluetree Cafe was a cute find in the Kaka'ako area. I wanted to try it mainly for the strawberry matcha latte, which was really nice. They offer 2 hours of free parking in the Aoki Group lot at The Collection condominium. The entrance is on Keawe Street. Just don't forget to register your car using the QR code. There's seating both upstairs and outside, but it can get a little loud, and the tables are pretty close together. I noticed a lot of people hanging out with their laptops and headphones. It seems like a popular spot for working or studying. Next time, I'd like to try some of their food too. One helpful tip: they mentioned that they tend to run out of menu items toward the end of the week (especially on Sundays), so if you want the full menu experience, it's best to visit Monday through Wednesday after they restock. In fact, many moons ago I had a small party here and so coming back here years later brought back fond memories. My bestie, Kyra K., needed to do some remote work, and since we were in the area, I suggested Bluetree Cafe since she never tried it. Bestie agreed and since it was a Sunday morning it allowed us to park directly on Kapiolani Blvd. Sadly, the parking was probably the best part of this visit as to be perfectly honest the Bluetree Cafe vibe I'm used to just wasn't there... I'm not saying have Steve Aoki DJ his EDM Jams, I'm just saying it was an odd visit lol. Bluetree Cafe is still a very cool place to visit and be seen. Lots of areas to work, study, or just chill. Inside or outside tables. Counter space and just a very artsy twist for Coffee Shop. The odd part started when we noticed only one employee being the Cashier, Barista, and Server too. Maybe two others before us, so we thought hmm can't be that bad, right? Wrong. Back to ordering: I chose the Ube Latté and Bestie chose the Latté Flight. And we waited. And we waited lol. Lucky in a way that Bestie had lots of remote work or we'd be gossiping about others like Gossip Girl! The decor is another IG worthy photo op as it's quite eclectic with lots of wood, dial telephones, bicycles, and even a vintage Vespa parked near the restrooms! Indoor and outdoor seating and lots of area to work, play, or just chill. Outside is a great area if sunny. And we wait. *sigh* The wait was probably 15-20 minutes which is eternity for just coffee, but finally the drinks are ready and brought to our table. The presentation was nice, the Ube Latté in a nice glass jar, and the Latté Flight of Earth Matcha, Sky Latté, and Ube Latté (Soy) displayed on a wooden tray. Long story short the taste did not match the visuals lol. It was definitely not worth the wait. Dare I say... like dirt. In the end, I'm sad to say I'm no longer a fan of Bluetree Café. I honestly don't know why it went off the train tracks from years ago. Don't believe me? Read the earlier reviews of constant 4-5 stars. The cafe being understaffed, the long wait unacceptable, and even some of the drinks being "earthy"... almost a nicer way of saying taste like "dirt". Still kudos to the lone Barista who managed to survive the morning. I'm a member of the VIP Aoki Rewards program and loyal to several of it's restaurants. I wanted to like this so bad ! Very mixed feelings, I ordered the toasted coconut late a vanilla cold brew the potato bowl, croissant sandwich and the oatmeal. The coffee for the cold brew was ok, the coconut had actual flakes inside and although it was pretty it was so unpalatable. I thought there would be more coconut flavor but there wasn't and to be fair they were out of coconut milk . The crossing was so soggy and I only walked to the port with it . The potatoes had so much flavor but they weren't cooked all the way through which made me so sad . The oats were great although that no sweetness to them they were topped with banana chai and peanut butter . My food and drinks took about 45 minuted which was well over what I was expecting and they apologized and gave me a free bag which was very kind. Both the gentleman working there were very nice, but honestly there's too many coffee shops in Waikiki that take the cake. We met our boss at Bluetree Cafe. It's located on thebottom floor of the Kapiolani Hotel. It's very quaint. The staff working are really friendly and welcoming. It's like a mini work hub area. You get your coffee, tea or latte and enjoy working in a clean, quiet environment. The menu had more organic offerings. There's outdoor seating if you prefer as well. Our team ordered coffee and lattes. They also have organic peanut butter balls. There is a 2nd flavor option as well. They have sandwiches, smoothies and Açaí bowls. There is a downstairs area where there are a few tables outside and inside, along with the counter for ordering. There is also an upstairs with more seating. It is a very peaceful setting that could be good for doing work or meeting with a friend. The specialty drink options are unique ones that I have never seen before such as an earth matcha and a dark cloud latte. I opted for the dark cloud latte because I wanted to have a drink with black sesame in it. It was a bit gritty, as can be seen in the photo. Possibly due to the espresso. Besides that, it was good and the black sesame came through nicely. There were smoothies and other drink offerings that I am hoping to try next time. As well, food such as breakfast sandwiches and acai bowls were available. We got the Hangry Morning and Bluetree Acai Bowl. My friend liked the Hangry Morning and said it was tasty. Needed a cafe with wifi and found Bluetree Cafe on Yelp. I glanced at the menu online and thought, okay I know I'll find something I like. Street parking available on Sundays. Otherwise idk where to park. The cafe had a couple of people. I ordered the Almond Dream Smoothie and the Choco Banana Smoothie. I also ordered the Namaste Curry Wrap. Check in for 10% off. We sat at a table and sadly we couldn't connect to wifi. I tried for about 10 minutes, restarted my computer, etc. Nothing helped. We ended up using our own hotspot since we already ordered. Our food and drinks were brought to us. They looked really good. The smoothies were thick and creamy. A bit sweeter than I'd like, but the overall taste was good. The Almond Dream Smoothie was my favorite from the two. The wrap was another story. Almost $11 for a vegetarian tofu wrap. It didn't have cranberries like it said on the menu, lacked in taste and texture. I wasn't impressed. There was a group of people who were also so loud the whole time. I've seen their location/business before when I have eaten next door at Doraku and have noticed how busy they have been while there. If you didn't know - "Restaurateur Kevin Aoki and his brother, Music Producer/EDM Deejay Steve Aoki, created Bluetree Café, a calm oasis for guests to grab a healthy snack, fresh juices, coffee, and tea. The inspiration for the indoor/outdoor cafe was their grandfather, Yunosuke Aoki, who was the first in their family to open a coffee shop in Nihonbashi, Japan. Yunosuke would travel four miles on a bicycle to Tokyo to collect sugar, return to his shop, and offer it free to enhance his customer's coffee experience. The variety of vintage bicycles that decorate the walls of the café is a nod to him and his entrepreneurial spirit." Now you know. We got lucky with easy parking directly in front of their business. We were able to parking directly on Kapi'olani Blvd, along the curb. I'm not sure if they have a dedicated parking area for these businesses, however, here are a couple options depending on the day of the week you visit: - Curbside parking on both sides of Kapi'olani (Verify M-F). - Garage parking several businesses right after Keiki and the Pineapple on Kapi'olani (Read Garage Warnings). - Parking on Waimanu St. (One block south towards ocean). The staff was friendly, but they did seem pretty busy/preoccupied with work or orders. There wasn't a lot of people so I just assume they were preparing food/drinks for future orders. There is plenty of seating - whether indoors or outdoors. They have regular tables that fit groups of 4, a handful of 2 seaters, and two lounge chairs. If you choose to sit outside - be mindful that Kapi'olani is a very busy street with large amounts of vehicles passing at approximately 30mph - making the cars passing fairly loud. For food/drink, I ordered a cortado and a Bluetree Blend Acai bowl. It was absolutely delicious. I wish my cortado was served in a glass container as intended. My acai bow was beautifully served at my table their staff. It was served a medium-sized ceramic bowl. The acai itself lacked a little flavor but I was able to add some more honey complimentary. Literally one of the worst experiences I've had on the island. Store was staffed by 1 overly enthusiastic, yet complete untrained server and their bitter, mute, eye-rolling "veteran" barista. Asked what chai they serve and after a look to the silent one, discovered they had none in stock...at 9am... Ordered a basic lemonade instead, and either they have the strongest lemonade ever squeezed or they just poured straight, unsweetened lemonade concentrate in a cup and added ice! Bluetree Cafe was the cafe of choice per my bestie, Eric R. I told him I wanted to find a place to work that offered caffeinated beverages, small bites, and a spacious place to work. He's talked about this place before and since I had never been he decided to take me. I've passed by Bluetree Cafe numerous times since it's located off Kapiolani Blvd. Since we came on a Sunday, street parking was free and readily available in front. If not, you'll have to find street or garage parking elsewhere. When we arrived in the early morning, the cafe was just opening up. The interior was spacious with tables and chairs perfect to work, study or chat at as well as high-top tables and chairs. It was very roomy and not cramped at all which was nice. The vibes were lowkey and relaxing--as a coffee shop should be! The only thing is that it isn't brightly lit as they rely on natural light. So, it was a little dark which made it a bit hard for me to work. Their menu is displayed on the screen which offers coffee, tea, smoothies, and various bites from pastries, acai bowls, and toasts. Since I was working, I needed a pick-me-up. Their specialty latte drinks impressed me and they offered the option to order a flight which was super cool as I'd never seen something like that! I ended up getting the Latte Flight which came with three of their specialty lattes in a miniature size. I chose the Skye Latte, Ube Latte, and Earth Matcha all with Soy Milk. All of the lattes presentations were stunning--colorful, cute, and creative! Out of the three, the Ube Latte was my favorite since it was the creamiest. I didn't get many hints of ube though. The matcha latte was okay--subtle and a little watered down in my opinion. The Skye Latte was fine--very strong and I ended up giving it to my bestie to drink. For the price point, the quality of the drinks was just okay but it got the job done. I wish they were creamier as they lacked flavor. We came around opening time and there were a few customers inside the cafe. Service was extremely slow but understandably so. Only one girl was running the whole cafe! She took the orders, crafted the beverages and food, and delivered them to each customer. Kudos to her but it did take over 20 minutes for our beverages to arrive. If you're in a rush this probably isn't the place to go for a drink since they're short-staffed. The Açai bowl is just a standard Açai bowl, nothing outstanding or special about it. My Bluetree latte was way too sweet for my taste (especially because the Açai bowl comes with A LOT of honey. Thankfully, the young lady who was working made me a tea latte drink that I also didn't like :/ I ended up drinking a quarter of it and throwing it out. SERVICE: Friendly! Very friendly. The young lady working was helpful and patient when helping me choose what I was craving. LOCATION: Located on the busy street of Kapiolani. This is such a conveniently cute cafe. Parking is easy in the Pacifica - enter via Kapiolani Blvd and park in the BlueTree/Doraku designated stalls. Great pet-friendly establishment with outdoor seating. I bring my doggo here to work on the tables outside. The service is like drastically different based on the workers and that's my biggest problem... so just an FYI you'll get stellar service from some, meh from others, and sometimes they'll be closed randomly without notice. **For COVID** Max 5-guests per table, same household, and fill out the dine-in form. Pros: -Super convenient and ample parking, plus dog friendly! -The food is AWESOME!! Try the Avocado Toast - some people make it better than others.. one girl puts pepper flakes (YUM!), one guy cuts it and has excellent presentation, another will let it sit on the counter while you're outside for over an hour without notice. -WiFi is pretty great and reliable.. I may not know how to log into the "BlueTree" network but Doraku's is open and very reliable. Cons: -They do share their parking stalls with Doraku guests, so it may get crowded and you may not find a parking stall. -Inconsistent service.... ONCE (on October 29,2020) the cafe was closed. No signage or anything and I stopped by at 8:15 and again at 10am but they were still closed- we ended up at Nordstrom's eBar. ONCE (Referencing my Avocado toast comment above) I sat outside waiting for the Avocado Toast I ordered at 10:55am... It's currently 12:08pm as I'm writing this and still no food. The policy could totally be that they will not bring you your food BUT every other time I order stuff they bring it to the table, which is THE BEST service from a small cafe. -The bathrooms don't use paper towels, which is totally fine, but then I'd probably recommend like a "foot opener" or something so that I don't have to touch the actual door handle on my way out. read more

The latte was well made and the coffee flavor tasted delightful. The lemonade was a bit watered down from the large amount of ice, but still refreshing. When I first arrived, I waited about 15 minutes to order because there wasn't anyone behind the counter. When the barista/cashier came, they didn't even make eye contact with me or smiled.. I ordered the 16 oz Lilikoi Passion smoothie and the Caprese toast, which came out to $25. The smoothie tastes more like coconut and banana and not lilikoi at all, and the chunkiness of it left me quite disappointed since I expected it to be fresh, smooth and light. I didn't end up enjoying the toast either due to the overwhelming balsamic and pea greens. I couldn't taste the garlic either. I don't think it's worth $14 for the toast and $10 for the smoothie... I also went to this cafe because I needed a place to work with WiFi. When I asked for the password, they told me to use the free guest wifi of the restaurant next door. Trying to do work at Blue Tree was so frustrating because the WiFi kept disconnecting, so I left about after an hour trying to make it work. There were plenty of seats though and outlets to charge. There was also free parking in the garage and a back entrance to the cafe through the garage. Left feeling disappointed for the price I paid, will not be coming back. 3.5 stars I was looking for a place that had free wifi and outlets and I found this place to do some work in the morning. This is not a huge place and only has a couple tables. The outlets are against the wall so if you don't get a table by the wall you don't have an outlet to charge your laptop. They serve their coffee and tea in 12oz, 16oz, and 20oz sizes. I ordered the bluetree latte 16oz ($4.95) which I thought was just okay. Parts of the drink were grainy and I am not sure what it was. Maybe it was something that they added but I wasn't a huge fan of it as a whole. Overall this place was just okay but not the best coffee shop of the places I went to during my trip. read more
