wait staff is super nice. but the portions are super tiny for how much you pay. for the price of the shoyu chicken plate i expected a regular sized plate. but no. i got one single piece of chicken, a scoop of rice, and a small side salad. the chicken was dry as was the rice. and i mean, i like grainy rice, but this was supposed to be sticky rice and it was def dry/undercooked got a burrito salad once too. that was also sadly tiny and disappointing. the acai bowl is almost $20, and its just frozen hard acai sorbet. the toppings are ok. but definitely pricey. will not be going back unless they have something i absolutely want that no one else has

It's so nice to havens super healthy lunch option on those days you are feeling you need the boost. Times you feel like you have been eating so bad and need place to have something light and refreshing..here Alo is to offer a yummy something. The açaí bowl is our favorite with lotsa granola, bananas, berries, seed and honey utop acai. So good. The cafe is cozy with chairs and couches to lounge upon. The music is soothing and this is a relaxing atmosphere to wait while your foods are being prepared. I tried the banana bread and it's healthy tasting. I think I prefer a little more butter and sugar. Food is made to order so things take a little longer to be prepared. Servers all look very healthy and fit. Think it's more incentive for customers to order something good for your body to become more health conscious.

I've ordered the açai bowls, avocado toast, and a few of their juices before from Alo Cafe via Grub HUB and Door Dash. All were very good, and I must have ordered again becuz at the time I had foot surgery and wanted to check out the places around downtown that offered vegan, healthy options. I was glad for the opportunity to try these places in spite of my limited condition at the time. Most recently, last week, April 2nd, I was literally in the area, walking around, and decided to have a late breakfast. I am so glad I walked in! The 2 ladies there were very nice and friendly. I had the mushroom burrito, vegetarian, becuz this usually comes with chicken. I also had their Love n Peace smoothie. The burrito was flavorful and I enjoyed it very much. Nice and filling. I actually saved half of the burrito for an early dinner later that day. My only complaint is I wanted it grilled, becuz I dont care for a soft tortilla, but it was still good. The smoothie was a bit too sweet for my taste. So, next time, I'll just stick to the juices. All in all, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and relaxed vibe of the Cafe. You will see from the pictures I took, it was a chill sorta spot you can hang out with friends, or if you want some alone time to just relax and have something healthy. There was also some cool merch for sale. Great experience!

The owner is super nice and I really appreciate the service. Definitely a business I'd love to support. Their chicken burrito is huge so I couldn't finish. It's pretty tasty and they got a lot of healthy options. A little side story- I ordered my food and was waiting inside and an elderly came in and asked me to pay for his food and I did. The owner initially insisted to give him free food, but I did pay for him. Weeks later I went back, she remembered me and gave me and my coworker free blueberry muffins they baked. They were so big and packed with blueberries. It was delicious!! This business carries Aloha and I think people should check it out!

Cute place for a bowl on a hot day! There's a good amount of seating comfy seating for while you wait/eat. The two ladies at the cash register were super sweet and helpful in recommending me a bowl. Got the pineapple juice and lilikoi bowl - both super refreshing!

I get the small acai bowl that says $14.98 and they charged me to large for 16.50? and i added tip and come out my bill to 17.50

Fix your pricing, how much is acai bowl the small ? Is it 14.98? But they charged like i order the large which is 15.98 so i paid the larger acia bowl? Disappointing

    1. Over priced, mediocre food in a city with lots and lots of amazing choices. 2. Weird vibe. One worker was hanging out on the couch. 3. Espresso served in a plastic cup. Not delicious and also Yuck. Avocado toast was on Costco bread,NOT toasted. Super pathetic presentation that matched the quality.

Finding myself trying to kill some time I stumble up on this place. I wanted something savory and the panini sounded like something different so I went with that and a Hawaiian ginger lemonade. I would put the panini up there with one of the best ones I've had, the mushroom confit is just as good as any meat maybe better. The Hawaiian ginger lemonade has a good balance, not too much ginger where it's overwhelming. I don't know when I will ever end up back here again, but if I do I will definitely get another panini.

    Large Hawaiian Ginger Lemonade

As soon as I walked in the door, the customer service was incredible! Very clean and fresh looking space. The perfect place for a fresh meal! I got the Avocado Toast and Hawaiian Ginger Lemonade. Definitely recommend!

Congratulations on your second location!! Woohoo what a great find on my stroll around downtown is ALO Cafe Hawaii in Bishop Square on it's second day of opening (soft opening on 9/13/23) I actually just missed today by just a few minutes as they're hours are 7am-2pm Monday to Fridays as I noticed a bunch of pink balloons and that familiar ALO in Waikiki I've visited a few times I asked if they moved only to hear it's their second location yay!!! It's a super cute and cozy cafe and the doors was wide open thinking I still could get some yummy smoothie only to be told everything was turned off was sad as they have the yummiest smoothies like Minty Hawaiian but I really was craving a refreshing açaí bowl hoping to get one of their Happy Bowls got me so excited only to be told I was too late made me sad. I will certainly happily be back to visit these ladies and if you go early they're able to validate the first 30 guests parking in the building which is $2 for the first 2 hours which is what's stated on their Instagram @alocafe_hawaii. Congratulations again and cheers times two! Thank you!

Pineapple kale banana smoothie; sorry I drank most of it so quickly, oops
    Edie S.

Got this yummy kale pineapple banana smoothie because I needed to use at least one of my hands to work and I also wanted something quick, and this was SO PERFECT. Delicious tasting; I'd totally get this again. I wish they had more food selections but maybe next time I'll try a wrap if I can spare two hands to eat with. Delicious and healthy; and right next to my office!

    Avocado Toast Matcha Latte

I have tried 3 different locations hoping for a better time, but at two of them including this one (i liked the one in kaka'ako) the food & drink was not good or right. At this one, I order an iced matcha latte with oat milk (which costs extra for the oat milk) & got a matcha tea & then asked if it had oat milk in it hoping it'd be remade because I knew it didn't & she just put a splash of oat milk on top. ... not a matcha latte. (& this is coming from a barista myself) i then ordered the avo toast ... & it was just on bread. not toasted at all. next location by Waikiki did not make an iced latte with oat milk correctly. It just tasted like milk because she didn't put enough ice in it, so the ratio was very off. Also, did not have the most friendly or professional vibe.

i had the minty hawaiian smoothie (pineapple, mint, and banana), although they were out of mint. nice and refreshing drink!

Super late review -…read more I'm sad. I really wanted to love this place but I just couldn't. I don't want to be that person when this place has an overall rating of 4.5 but this is just my honest opinion. I got the blue dream and yes it was very ascetically pleasing, but it was just too icy. Before coming to this place i read a couple of reviews that also said the same thing and i didn't understand what that meant, but now I do. There are a lot of flavorless, just regular, small shards of ice in the bowl. On top of that, the moment I received my bowl, it was already borderline melted. So that got me thinking, how can it be melted and icy at the same time? The only explanation that I can think of is just ice additive/fillers. It's not pure cold acai or whatever is in the bowl you choose, but there's a mixture of ice in it too. Yes I understand, it's Waikiki, everything is more expensive, but the added topping prices on top of the already expensive bowl prices just don't make sense. You want a beautiful looking bowl with a lot of different toppings, yet some toppings can go up to 1 dollar PER topping. I don't know if I've just been spoiled by a couple places in SoCal, but at those places they have unlimited toppings and those bowls are the best that there is. I'm not bringing any bias from other locations, but this is just an honest review based on my experience today.

Parking is super easy with the complimentary structure, and the café is located on the bottom floor alongside other vendors. One thing I immediately appreciated was how well air-conditioned the entire market is--it's nice and cool, which makes sitting and eating there really comfortable. The cashier recommended the turkey pesto croissant, but suggested swapping it onto ciabatta since it's one of her favorites--and I'm so glad I trusted her. It was phenomenal. The flavors were balanced, the bread held everything together perfectly, and it felt like a step above your typical sandwich.
