Amazing little bar in the San Clemente triangle district. Great atmosphere inside! The bartender was doing a great job getting everyone's order and drinks out in a timely manner the music was awesome. Parking isn't the best but it's worth it!

This was a bar that we walked by on a Tuesday and it happened to look pretty hopping, so we went in. To our delight they have a taco Tuesday deal-free tacos with drink purchase! We had the house margaritas and they were good. Sports were playing on the tv and it was a college football bar, so my fiancé was excited. They also have a variety of bar games available. The best part is PBR ON TAP! I think I'm the only person I know who loves PBR this much, but it's safe to say, I'm in my happy place.

The ID situation makes zero sense. Went to meet friends and was told my NY REAL ID usually isn't accepted because it's a military town. We were also told my boyfriend needed to go back and get his passport because his international ID wasn't valid. We finally made it inside 30 mins later (to meet friends) but such a hassle. If you're from anywhere but CA..good luck. read more

They don't allow any military in this bar. Not sure why, but seems a little disheartening. The military community does a lot of hard work to provide a service for the community and country, and this establishment doesn't seem to respect that whatsoever. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There are much better bars in San Clemente than this one. I wouldn't waste my time with this place. read more

I have been here a few times with friends, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. The jukebox that you can pay for songs you'd like to hear is pretty cool. My only complaint is the space. When this place gets packed, it gets PACKED. There's some pool tables in the back and a couch on one side by a window which is great. Obviously this place gets busy on weekends, but the bartenders are great. I haven't tried the food here, but beverage prices seem fair. Again, it just get cramped fairly quickly. read more

Ole's is an amazing iconic bar in San Clemente with some of the friendliest people and amazing bartenders. There's free pizza at night if you're ever hungry which I've always loved. The drinks are cheap they have pool tables to relax and play with friends and also a great jukebox. read more

This bar is amazing! I'm from the Midwest and Ole's is like home on the west coast. We met the owner and told him it's a tradition for us to come up here every few months or so. He was so sweet and got my friend birthday shots on he house. Whether you're with friends or on your own looking to watch a game this is he place to be! read more

So I want to rate this bar as well. I met some really awesome people here. Elysia, jade, Kate, and tank. They are always on top of there game. They definitely know what the customer wants. Pool tables are fun. They have popcorn and peanuts for your munchies. The bouncers dam and Dana are bad ass. Even for marines. Lol. read more

Best bar in San Clemente. Went in for a drink and stayed for the night. The bartenders are awesome. Niamh is a sweetheart and kept the drinks coming. Super friendly staff. No food, but they have popcorn that was really good. They do offer food on their football games though. If you like the Packers this is for sure your spot! Ole's did me well and will be back for sure read more

I use to go here every time I'd record in town from Texas with my bud's from SC and enjoyed it. I came into town a few weeks ago and they wouldn't let me in cause I was from Texas and My ID is too. I understand being close to age 21 and it possibly being a fake or what not knowing the look of out of state PROPER ID's... but I'm 30 and been to this place probably twice a year for the past 7 years prior to this. Sucks when you have people coming to your establishment to spend money in your business by playing pool and get a drafts. Figured I'd post it up here that clearly the owner doesn't want anyone but the locals in his spot, so don't waste your time or energy here and go use your money on drafts/drinks along with free pool down at Mulligan's. (friendly welcoming atmosphere) I work at a bar in Austin, TX and we'd never treat people due to where they are from and or not being a local. read more

Oles is my go to bar whenever I'm in San Clemente. People are great, bartenders are great, drinks are great... what more could you ask for?! The perfect blend of neighborhood bar meets dive bar. The closest you will get to Waterfront Tavern here in the OC. Drinks are poured strong and the company is even better. Partners Mark & Greg have owned Ole's Tavern since 1994. Both originally from Green Bay Wisconsin, Greg and Mark can be found rooting for the Packers at Ole's whenever there is a game. Since taking over the bar, they have made constant improvements to transform it from a dreary stagnant beer bar to a full liquor sports tavern by day and a thriving San Clemente hotspot at night!

I really love their food and cocktails here (especially the…read moreMexican Candy!) and while I've had some things that weren't my favorite, everything I've tried has been delicious. One of my favorite appetizers here are their bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers served with a blackberry jam and pickled onions...I get this pretty much every time. Lately I've been coming on Tuesdays to take advantage of their all-day Happy Hour, which is one of the best in town. Crispy carnitas tacos and the hibiscus margaritas are my go-to's, and the fresh chips and salsa served gratis are always delicious and hot. I wanted to take a moment to shout out their fantastic team of servers and bussers especially. Luna, Lindsay and Cesar have all been exceptional servers; their knowledge of the menu and their genuine kindness makes our visits that much more memorable. I don't often catch the name of the bussers, but they are extremely good at what they do. There's a few restaurants in town that hire staff and don't seem to train them well, so they struggle and it's apparent... but that's not the case here at Asada, where everyone is professional and really go above and beyond. It's easy to see how well their service flows (although the host stand could benefit from having people who are more outgoing; they seem to have timid people up there a lot, and it can be awkward when they're too timid to properly greet guests--just something I've noticed, having worked in restaurants before I tend to be hyper-aware of such things). My favorite section to get seated is the booths near the back which tend to be quieter, and also offer a nice view of the sky during the sunset and evening hours especially.

Each server has multiple helpers, so it really makes the whole experience lovely. We had all the things. The steak board, the seafood, the starters, the salads. Each one was prepared in a really nice way. We didn't have one thing that wasn't truly spectacular. The sommelier was cool and friendly and approachable. The staff wasn't stuffy or pretentious. They were all just helpful. The setting is gorgeous. Very modern with mid-century touches everywhere. This is a great place for a date, for a nice night out, for an occasion worth celebrating.

I had to squirt some lemons on it to balance the taste, and it was still not a good balance because it was too sweet. We both ordered the Beach Fire Cheeseburger. The fries were frozen, and they definitely tasted frozen, which was probably also the case for the calamari. We both finished half of our burger. They were okay. There are definitely other spots you can try in this area.

A very strange experience. Got thrown out along with my girlfriend for standing up for our privacy and sexuAl assault that some of the local affluenza infected child-men exhibit. A local drunk , who is looks like a homeless crack smoking golfer thought it would be funny to give me a lap dance by plopping down his poopy looking white slack shorts right on top of my crotch. I simply stood up and flipped him onto the floorand walked over to the other side of the bar with my girlfriend. It didn't end there and when my girl went to the restroom she was approached viciously by this peon who in a very aggressive manner attempted to grope her as if his intention were to rape. As soon as I realized what was happening I grabbed him and pinned him down on the ground. He started screaming and crying, begging me not to hurt him but I j held him down and pleaded for someone in the bar to call the police which the only one to do so was my girlfriend. Two guys, either working for the bar or someone closely associated jumped on top of me, pulled me outside and onto the ground. They twisted the story all around. That is just the tip of it. We were sitting right next to a family A mother full of plastic surgery, a burly looking man with a body builders body and thier daughter who was around 23 or so talked openly about their incestual relations while the father occasionally intimately touched and kissed his daughter. Oles is known in San Clemente as the locals bar. Of the four bars in the so called "triangle" it is the MOST SAFE. During the day until 8 pm you can catch a $3 well drink throughout the week and the bartenders have other cocktails rotating on special. Oles has the best bottled beer selection of any full bar in San Clemente. No one comes close. On tap they rotate a few beers of the 12 available. The liquor selection is top notch and even includes moonshine! Oles has recently upgraded all of its coolers and extended the bar nearly 9 feet in length. They added a third well and have even more capability to serve the crowd. They are the only bar with foosball as well. The pool tables are re-felted regularly and the popcorn is one of a kind with their secret recipe. Peanuts are available as well and like a true dive you throw the shells on the floor! Year-round sports subscriptions with Direct TV keep each and every fan happy! Last but not least the staff is beautiful and skilled and very knowledgeable of the town. I was blown away with the amount of ignorant views thrown out there by a little lady who recently visited this bar, and honestly would not have been invited to this local gathering place in the first place. As a proud, born & raised San Clemente local...i was compelled to write a rebuttal of her rude,disrespective, remarks about a place I've grown to love over my 23 years in San Clemente. Ole's is a friendly place to relax with a cold brew, play pool, darts, and fooz ball while making friends with down to earth people. true, we have plenty of ink and unforgiving spirits, But behind the cover many of Ole's regular customers are very kind whole hearted people to those who are respectful of our bar and city! I recently visited Ole's Tavern in San Clemente and was blown away by the fun atmosphere and old-style pub yet updated sports bar feel. This place has everything you could want: great drinks, delicious free peanutand popcorn, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The bar tenders, Elysia, Jade, Jess, and Rachel, are simply amazing. Not only are they incredibly skilled at making all of your favorite drinks, but they are also some of the friendliest people around. They always take the time to make sure you're having a good time, and their warm and welcoming personalities are infectious. Another thing I loved about Ole's Tavern was the local old guys that sit by the front door. They were so friendly and welcoming, and their presence helped create an atmosphere of community and camaraderie throughout the bar. Overall, Oles Tavern is an amazing place. Discriminatory bar: Opposes out of state / military patrons: Unsatisfactory given that this is a military community. Would give 0 if it was an option. I enjoy going to this bar for the most part when allowed to enter. The one thing I disagree with is that they feel so strongly about marines. This bar will let you in if you are a lady by yourself no matter where your ID is from. But, if you are a male they automatically assume you are a marine if you have an out of state ID. Bouncers blame it on the owner and specifically say they do not want marines in their bar. I'm not sure how this discrimination against marines is legal. They don't ban certain races or religions just certain lines of work. It's a shame I will never be allowed to go here again because of what I do for a living. The ironic thing is, a few of the bouncers are either active duty Marines or former Marines! Thanks for your service! read more

I have never been to, or worked at a bar quite like this. Ole's is actively involved in their community and are always looking for the next opportunity to give back. I've been to Ole's quite a few times and every time, its been an experience. It can be somewhat intimidating the first time you walk into that dive bar as the stench of stale beer fills the air. There are definitely some characters that hang out around this joint. I'm pretty sure the local homeless alcoholics chill here. I'm not too fond of the crowd. Man. Their rule of California IDs only is the stupidest thing I have ever encountered. I was in town visiting a friend and couldn't get in cause I had an out of state ID. What kind of business sense is that? Never, in all my travles have I encountered such non-hospitable people. Supposedly, the ID rule is in place to keep military out cause they fight, I guess? *Liberals only* Military members aren't welcome. To begin, what American would even deny a military ID? Second, having incompetent bouncers isn't a good idea for any bar. Please educate your bouncers on legal ID's since they apparently have no idea and therefore cannot complete their job fully. Just because an ID isn't from California doesn't mean it isn't valid. To conclude, not accepting military Id's basically means you're as supporter of ISIS and hates the armed forces. read more

Definitely my favorite bar in San Clemente! Travel here often for work and the bartenders are always very attentive(especially Harley) They always make sure your drink is full!
