I really like the curbside pickup service. I order online. My order is ready in about 20 minutes and don't have to wrestle the baby in and out of the car seat. Eating inside I've found they've had some inexperienced waitstaff. They are across the street from a university so that doesn't surprise me. But they've always been polite and willing to please. The menu has a big variety of sandwiches, sides, some soups and appetizers. There are many nourishing items. This is a family favorite and a good value. read more

Olga's is homegrown Detroit. It has several locations around the Detroit suburbs and now other locations in other states. The food is good. They serve an "Olga Original" which is a version of the gyro sandwich. The meet is a bit different than a typical gyro meet from Grecian Delight, Kronos, or Olympia. Probably less filler, which is a good thing. The yogurt sauce is a bit thicker and sweeter than typical too. Finally, the most important difference is the pita. It's handmade at the restaurant and is much more soft and chewy than your typical pita. The sides are good as well. Curly fries with some season mix sprinkled on it. You can also choose from a pasta salad, side salad, or soup. If you order a soup, you get snackers with it. It's fried pita slices sprinkled with some seasoning that is hard to stop eating. It comes with some type of flavored butter. If you really like those snackers, you can get a whole side order! For drinks, their lemonade is house made and is good. If you like lemonade. So I sound pretty positive about this place. Typically would give it 3-4 stars. Then why 2? Every time I've been to this location, they've consistently destroyed the customer experience. When dining in, they are very slow in coming to the table to greet you. Once you place your order, it takes forever to get you the food. It's surprising how slow they can get. Sometimes I wonder if they forgot I was there. Tonight, I ordered carry-out. They quote me that it'd be ready in 10 minutes. It took over 25 minutes. How can you screw that up that much? Their excuse was that they got busy with carryout. Then why wouldn't they quote me a longer time? Over 2x the quoted time. They seem to work hard to disappoint even with carryout. It's definitely not an isolated experience based on the reviews that have been posted. I spoke with the manager, so hopefully they realize their issues and will work on their service. I have always loved Olga's but what I don't love is bad customer service. I was staying at a hospital nearby and ordered food delivery off the website. Now I don't know it's contracted delivery because it was done through the website and frankly, I don't care. I ordered my dinner (excitedly) and awaited my delivery. 2 hours later I called to see why I hadn't received my order. I was told it had been picked up but that's all they could tell me. Since it wasn't "their" driver, they had no idea what happened to my food. After almost crying (remember I'm sick AND hungry), I was told they would refund my money and I succumbed to order pizza. Again. However, my refund would have to wait until the regional manager was back from vacation. I should have known then. I have followed up by phone more times than I care to count and at almost a month later, I have to say this is never happening. The food was for more than myself so it's $50. I wish the promise of a refund had been honored. I wish the driver hadn't taken my food. I wish the website was more honest that delivery was contracted out because no one even knows which contractor I could call (I.e. doordash, Grubhub, etc.). I'm not sure this is the best business model. I also don't know why they have this "secret" contracted delivery where they can't track who picked up my dekivery So I wish I could review the food, but the truth is I paid $50 I'll never get back and I didn't get one snacker or a return phone call. Please eat in if you expect food. UPDATE: it did take some time, but I did receive a refund and a coupon for $30 on a future visit. They did stand by their word and seemed sincere about the length of time it took. I work for a corporation, so I understand how that can go. The food is still great. read more

I ordered a salad... it tasted funny, but I was so hungry I was eating it anyway.. I thought maybe it was the dressing... then I tasted something rancid! The salad was literally rotten. It was filled with slimy old greens. I was horrified! The waitress took it off the bill and didn't charge us, but I'm sick to my stomach now hours later from eating it. Came here yesterday and did not receive service to our table for over ten minutes. I had to get up and ask a server to get a server for our table. When our server came, she said "nobody let her know we were there", even though she had a table right next to us and clearly saw us sitting there for over ten minutes. We finally ordered an appetizer and our meal, she brought everything out at the same time so she wouldn't have to check back up on us. We sat down at 1:15 and didn't get food until 1:50. So much so that my 4 year old niece made it a point to tell our waitress that she was a "nice lady". Aren't kids adorable? Any who, I always come to this location when I'm visiting home. It's a must. I start to crave a 3 Cheese Olga as soon as I get off the plane. I wish we had one of these in NYC. Do they franchise? I ordered a 3 Cheese Olga and fries. It was delicious. My 5 yr old niece ordered a hot dog off the kids menu and exclaimed that it was the best hot dog she ever ate. (I think the Olga bread wrapped around it is what made it so good). My other niece is a 4 year old vegetarian so she just had peaches and a salad. The waitress was so accommodating with my little vegetarian's choices. She still charged us the kids meal price. They also enjoyed the ice cream for dessert. My mother's only complaint (she's hard to please) was that they didn't keep the seasonings on the table anymore. When the bill claim, my mother exclaimed "That's It?". Yes, dinner for 4 including dessert was pretty reasonable. So reasonable that I treated instead of my mother. This is not the first time that we visited this location in Lathrup Village, and usually our visits have been very nice. Today 7 of us went there around 2:00 Pm. We were the only people in line and noone came by to help us. Another gentleman lined up behind us and waited a short time and decided to "carry out". Then after 10 minutes a gentleman walked by and asked how many we were. He walked away and after another 5 minutes, we decided to leave and go elsewhere. It was very discouraging. read more

Almost just guesstimated and threw money on the table and walked out. I have eaten here several times since the above review. There is one good server at this location. When she is not there you get to sit and wait for food and drinks while the employees loudly talk in the kitchen or hang out and talk to another customer for an extended period of time while they ignore you. I'm writing this as I'm sitting in Olga's in Bloomfield Township. We placed our order and were brought dirty plates and dirty silverware to use. This place isn't doing well today. Everything is usually pretty clean here, but just not today. Also, our food is taking a lot longer than usual to arrive. It's just a couple simple salad orders. Drink refills, which have always been pretty automatic, are non-existent. I finally called for a manager, literally. I called the restaurant using my cellphone from our table. There appears to be a lot of angry yelling going on in the kitchen. Hopefully, this isn't an indication that this location is going downhill. I'll start of by saying the food is decent and it sucks to that this location is closest to me, only because the service for both carryout and dine in is always horrible. I heart Olga's. I used to dream about this place when I lived in Florida; no Olga's to be found within 1200 miles! I don't understand why people compare this place to traditional Greek fare... they're totally not the same! I love Greek food and I love Olga's. Olga bread is unlike most Greek pita... it's soft, chewy and slightly sweet. Olga's sauce is not a tatziki at all... it's a tangy Greek yogurt sauce. The Olga Snackers are to die for... crispy with a mix of seasonings and tangy Swiss almond cheese to spread on! Olga's has been a tradition around the Detroit area for decades and hopefully continues to be so! I love Olga's food and all but this service is a hit or miss. Anytime i come to this particular location it takes forever for you to even get acknowledged by your waiter. For example our waiter has gone to the table right by us three times before even saying anything to us, we are not the type of people to be impatient but when it comes to poor service it's not okay. I would like to see improvement for this location especially because this area is growing in business and will most likely become busier and busier within time. My cousin called for the waiter several times and he didn't come but continued to be on his phone. This is the only decent location since the one in Rochester sucks terribly. The staff here are ok in terms of niceness, but are definitely slow. Do not come here if you need a fast lunch. I order salad and fries and snackers usually and of course I ask for extra cheese and never get it until 30 minutes later. The snackers and cheese are the best thing and I only come here for them. I'm rating it lower because ever since they changed their orange cream cooler recipe, it tastes like shit. Awful and nasty and I don't know who decided to mess with it. I would strongly suggest the owner of the company visit the store more often. The staff that was there on 11/25/18 at 8pm was absolutely horrible. They cursed the whole time we were sat. They talked about fucking and sucking in the back! The completely ignored the customers when asking for refills. No regards for customer service. They didn't watch the takeout area. The only person I saw working was Heidi. She stayed busy and they treated her as bad as the customer. I would suggest the owner fire the entire staff except her including the cook. It took 30 mins to get snackers! I also believe they are stealing. They wanted cash only. I heard them talking about taking it and saying they refunded the customer. Basically telling customers the cc machine was down Owner if your out there you need to come to your store and validate your staff!! I understand that this is Olga's and not some fancy, 5 star restaurant, but my server touched down on my glass (during the process of pouring a cup of water- when the funnel part of a water pitcher touches the cup of water which is known to transfer tons of germs), and there was a hair in my cheese for my snackers. When I told her she just said I'll get you a new one; no remorse, no, "I'm so sorry about that". Idc what anyone thinks, hair in food is nasty. I asked my waitress if the label 1000 calories for 25 snackers included the calories in the cheese and she literally said "look at me, I'm fat I wouldn't know", then politely told me to look it up. I always liked Olga's every since I was a kid. There bread is to die for.. That is what makes Olga's so special. I am old school and love the regular olga's and of course the Curley frie's rock. Well recently I tried there new Greek Style Olga Sandwich and was kind of bummed out. No flavor at all and the bread that I usually rave about was dried out and very stale. The Service was good, but can tell she just started and she gave it her best shot. The only thing is that usually soap comes first not at the same time. The food was hot and that made up for that. Got at table and took out food for my co worker and I. And to my disappointment I had no soup that I ordered or the 3 snackers that come with it. So there went my lunch.
