    Pup Cream!!!
    Dawn V.

I'm late to the PotBelly chain but I just heard about their Pup Cream and I love my dogs so I placed a mobile order and picked it up just minutes later. Everyone working was very friendly and very efficient! I was surprised my custom order was ready so soon and done perfectly I really like their tuna, better than Panera's actually. I love that it's not too wet and I added banana peppers, subtracted the cheese on the custom online order form I also love that they sell shakes in two sizes! I always want a shake or smoothie but I don't need a giant one like other chains sell, and I customized it!!! (Coffee tip shake, added Oreo as second flavor and malt for free!) And of course, the pup cream! (The reason I came, lol). They LOVED it! * masks and social distancing required* Hand sanitizer by the door/pick up table

Made with fresh ingredients and made with love. This was well worth the drive. The soup was fresh.

Today I tried something different! Potbelly! The resturant was very clean, the gentlemen working were friendly and walked me through the process. I ordered the chicken and cheddar, 2 oatmeal cookies that are irresistible, chicken noodle soup and a vanilla shake. Customer service is a plus for me and I wil be back. The price was in my opinion less than I expected. And did I say the oatmeal chocolate cookie is great!

I WAS TOLD THIS IS A STRAWBERRY SHAKE....... where's the rest of the shake? The whip cream? The cherry? On top of this looking very poorly made & bubbly for whatever reason. A joke.

Cookie ice cream sandwich. The brownie chocolate chip cookie is MUCH bigger than the oatmeal cookie. Both are very large, though.

I wanted a sandwich for dinner & remembering that Potbelly just opened, I decided to stop here. I ordered a Wreck, minus the ham. I had also seen macaroni & cheese advertised at another store, but there was no such signage or any indication that they offer it. Too bad, because I might've gotten som The first problem is that, unlike with other chains, the counter is so high that I couldn't see over it. I am very short, but it seems that if food is being made to order at a place like this, the customer should be able to see it. It also seemed to take a very long time, considering I was the only customer in the place. Before my order was rung up, I asked for an ice cream sandwich and was told "No problem". Um, it SHOULDN'T be a problem -- it's their JOB to give the customer what s/he asks for! But that's a semantic issue that always gets under my skin. Then, another counterperson asked how I'd be paying & I said credit card. He ran some card for the register, and then the young woman who waited on me asked me again, so I told her again. (She was standing right there when he asked, so I don't know why she felt the need to ask again.) Then she slid HER card through, handed me the sandwich and said "Have a nice day". I reminded her that I'd also asked for the ice cream sandiwch, and she said, "Oh, right. Pick the 2 cookies you want." That surprised me, as I thought they'd already be made up. Given the choices, I wanted oatmeal raisin, but they only had one, so I took that and a brownie chocolate chip. She then scooped some vanilla ice cream & put it on the cookies, so I assume there are no other flavors. And, of course, she hadn't added it to the sandwich, so she had to ring it up separately. When I got home, I added some cucumbers to the sandwich, along with some Miracle Whip. Still, the sandwich was VERY salty; it was about the only thing I could taste. Very disappointed.

Service was good, but no meat on the avo turkey sandwich. Too much lettuce without the meat.

Great sandwich, friendly capable staff, could use a decor refresh - but OK. More expensive than most sub shops, but worth it.

They also make their smear (cream cheese) in house and slice their own lox (smoked salmon). The salmon was particularly impressive, it just melts. Their bagels are on the pricier side, but they are large, fresh, and delicious. I've tried my classic order (sesame, scallion smear, lox) and one of their bagel sandwiches (eggs, bacon, tomato, cheese), which are very hearty. They have breakfast and lunch options. They were out of the chicken salad when I stopped in, their egg salad was very good though. The bagel was glorious (as always), bacon was heavenly, chicken salad was exactly right, tomato was fresh, the potato salad and pickle on the side were flavorful and a nice bonus. I saved half for later, yet it was filling and large enough to require two hands each time. The Morning Stimulus (two scrambled eggs, bacon, avocado spread, red onion, tomato, melted cheddar cheese, and I get mine on an asiago or everything bagel) is my go-to breakfast order. Trust me and add a hash brown on it for extra crunchy texture. The staff is friendly. The inside is tidy with a handful of tables if you want to dine in, but they package everything very well if you take your order to go. Everyone I've brought in has been impressed with the deliciousness, quality, and size of the portions. Bagel Spot is a 10 out of 5.

We were warmly greeted and seated by the hostess, and asked whether we'd like table or booth seating. On the mid weekday morning, it was nearly empty. I did note that they do a regular take out business well so there's always folks coming and going. I ordered a glass of Prosecco (~$12) and Shakshuka (~$16). The poached eggs were done perfectly and the spiced stewed tomatoes with a hard cheese wedge were delicious. Instead of crust bread, the dish arrived with a half piece of grilled pita. With all the liquid a bit more bread would have been a plus. The Prosecco was served in a wine glass. It tasted sweet and pretty flat unfortunately. Wouldn't likely order alcohol again here. The spices and freshness of the Shakshuka would however bring me back next time, with a cup of coffee.

There were at least six people "working"--standing around talking loudly with the radio blasting, mainly--and even though I was just getting a single bagel with cream cheese it took forever. And no one else was even in the store. At a certain point, the manager/owner called over to me and said "we're having trouble with the toaster." I had been super clear that I wanted it "not toasted." Then because he could tell I was irritated and it had been, well, forever, he started scolding the workers about talking too much, the music being too loud, etc., to no avail. They just kept going. And when the time came to finally hand me my bagel, there was no apology, "I'm sorry," or any acknowledgement at all that it had been a really inappropriately long time that I had been waiting--again, with no one else in the store. And six employees working. The sad thing is that the bagels at this place are pretty good, about the best you are going to get in metro Detroit, but I won't be back.
