Glad I stopped in I stopped in yesterday for some pizza for lunch. Giannis offers a lunch special, 2 slices and a drink for a reasonable price. I instead opted for their Meat Lovers personal sized pizza, and that was an excellent choice. To begin with, their personal pizzas are 11", larger than what you usually find. I like larger. I'm quite impressed with the information of some of the other reviews, I just think of NY style pizza as thin crust. The other reviews got into crispy and chewy as other criteria, and they were right, my pizza was a little crispy with a slight chewiness of the bottom crust. This was a great lunch, a little too much food, all delicious. For lunch you order at the counter and they bring the food to you when it is ready. It took about 15 minutes, good for a made to order pizza. My interactions with the staff was fine. The place looks like an Italian restaurant with checkered tablecloths and pictures of food and other Italian things on the wall. Convenient parking. Definitely glad I stopped in. read more

Gianni's New York Pizza is a fantastic pizzeria that brings a great pizza down here to Florida. The Bradenton, Florida community are very fortunate to have Gianni's New York Pizza. I grew up in New Jersey and just took it for granted that there were great pizzerias on pretty much every corner. Imagine my surprise and dismay when I moved to Florida back in 2001 and found that great pizza (or even good pizza) was not found on every corner here in the Sunshine State. In fact, you might not find great pizza (or even good pizza) in a particular city or town. Great pizza was somewhat we needed to seek out and when found, it was indeed a moment worth celebrating and what better way to celebrate than with a slice of pizza in hand? The staff is friendly and the ambiance is pleasant enough. Gianni's New York Pizza is a place that is indeed worth celebrating. I would definitely recommend here and I give it five stars. read more

Truly impressed with this Italian pizza spot. Seeking NY style pizza in Florida is a very tricky quest. But when you have the nerve to include it in your name, you know I'm coming to try it. The restaurant is located in a Publix plaza and it has plenty of seating with traditional Italian decor. We went on off hours like 4:30 pm on Monday, and turns out we were the only ones dining there. Server was friendly and quick. We ordered the small Caesar salad and the Philly cheesesteak pizza. Happy hour is 3 to 6pm, Monday to Friday for certain draft beers and house wines. Singalong music was playing and several TV were tuned to NFL updates. Hubby and I were relaxing when the salad comes out. Check the picture, deep bowl of fresh salad, cheese, and croutons. Generous portion for 2 and our server placed the salad in the pizza stand and gave us two plates and tongs to serve the salad. Excellent!! We both ordered beers and they were cold and perfect. Then as soon as we were done with our bowl of salad, our server took all the used plates and brought us both fresh plates. This quality of service and attention to detail is rarely experienced in a Florida pizzeria, so needless to say we were impressed. As we waited for our pie, we observed a steady flow of phone calls and folks picking up orders. They have a steady strong business which only sparked our taste buds even more for our early dinner. Then our piping hot cheesesteak gooey delicious pizza arrived. A medium for 2 is huge, especially after eating our bowl of salad. Unlike other pizzerias, this cheesesteak pizza has a smooth tomato sauce base, with real fresh ribeye shaved, onions and completely covered in cheese. Oh my, it was superb and very filling. You will not leave hungry. We did notice there are some full dinner options, garlic knots with Yelp, and a host of other Italian favorites that have us intrigued to come back and try them. Door Dash delivery in under 30 minutes. Terrific! This started with me and a craving...sausage and peppers. I needed a sausage wedge. So I searched Yelp for an Italian restaurant that had it on the menu. Wasn't easy. Bingo - Gianni's! This ultimately led to adding a chicken parmigiana wedge and a personal size Alfredo chicken pizza. Everyone should enjoy, no? The sausage itself was so fresh and tasty, to the point we need to have some here for grilling! The sandwich was delicious, fresh bread, toasted, fresh sliced peppers and the perfect solution to the craving. My wife enjoyed her chicken parm. The white pizza was delicious, and delivered as ordered with light sauce. We will be sure to do this again after I run 5 miles :) read more

Pretty easy and convenient online ordering. I placed a carry out order around 6:40PM it said it would be ready around 7:25PM and it was. It gives you the option to pay with your cc online or just pay when you pick it up, they also have the option for delivery but I believe there is a minimum and might charge you a fee. I was very surprised about how organized they are when you walk in to the restaurant. They have the host desk as soon as you walk in and to the left are two registers to pick up & pay. The establishment isn't too big but decent size. Pretty big parking lot since it's in a decent size plaza. We placed an order of their chicken parm dinner with ziti, and calamari rings. Both very good portion for two people and it was pretty good and fresh. They also gave us complimentary garlic knots which I prefer instead of a slice of bread that most placed just give you. Stopped in for a bit to eat before one of the kids sports events in town. We were immediately greeted and sat at a large table for the 5 of us. The menu has just about everything you could want - pizza, sandwich, Stromboli, pasta, chicken, etc. One of the kids had a pizza - margherita - and one had buttered pasta. The portion sizes were larger than expected and a great price. I tried the Philly Cheesesteak. I asked for extra mushrooms and extra cheese. I did get the extra mushrooms and it seemed like they put the 2 kinds of cheese I requested, but I could have used more cheese. It was cooked good and the roll was nice and soft. We loved this place!!! and that's saying a lot considering we are in the industry and can be extremely picky about food.... especially pizza. Giannis' did not disappoint. Pizzas came piping hot in about 20 minutes...good condiments like pepper flakes and fresh grated parmesan already on the table. I started on the meat combo and couldn't stop. The crust was delicious and thin where it should be, substantial, chewy, crisp on the ends. The selection and amount of toppings was spot on and the sauce was balanced - rich enough to compliment but not overpower. 10 minutes in, my friend Melissa asked if I wanted the last piece of Burrata. I was hesitant to move away from the meat combo but she gave me a look that said "you won't regret it". The Burrata was unbelievable. The crust seemed even thinner, crisper making way for the more delicate and nuanced flavors of the marinara sauce, burrata cheese and fresh basil. So so good. My mouth is watering two weeks later thinking about it. I have two regrets - 1. Not ordering a large Burrata 2. Not discovering Giannis sooner on our visit to Brandenton. I literally would have gone every night.... the food was that good. Misc: Dessert - order the Lemoncello Cake - it is absolutely delicious. I was not crazy about the cannoli which is a hard one to pull off unless eaten super fresh. Once they hit the frig the ricotta can get heavy and sticky. The new owner is a gem. She's Italian heritage, passionate about food and providing a warm and welcoming experience to her guests. Her staff also seems supported, friendly, helpful and outgoing. Such a good vibe in there. So far from NYC in distance but spot on in NY style pizza. The cheese is right, the sauce is right, the crust is right and the toppings are sure to please everyone. They offer three sizes, the personal being 11 inches. This is great for families with different preferences. Online ordering was flawless, easy to build your own pizza (start with the cheese pizza for this option) and a fast pick up. You do need to call for GF crust but I am assuming it is so they can be sure they have it on hand. The Works was filled with big slices of pepper and plenty of meat. It wasn't oily like you expect with pepperoni. The rest of us built our own pizzas. Eggplant is different than what I am used to and I really liked it. It doesn't have the skin on it and is cut in thin squares. Mushrooms are fresh and meaty. Peso sauce is amazing. Goat cheese is very mild and closer to feta in taste. Red onions are flavorful not overpowering. I got a side of marinara, it was creamier than what was on the pizza. I prefer what was on the pizza but it was amazing too, less "tomato" more cream so it was great for crust dipping. read more

Well, maybe it was due to it being March season...maybe it was due to it being a busy Friday...our most recent visit this month missed the mark in both poor service and inedible salads. This visit, the server was clueless never checking back, not checking our food prior to bringing it over, not refilling water glasses, etc. Calamari small portion and bland...we had never tried it before and wouldn't order it again. Ceasar salad was a clump of too much dressing and the Greek salad was a bowl of inedible white bits of iceberg, dressing had not been stirred so all oily, special requests not completed. Pizza was still good but not enough to cover these mishaps this time. Maybe time to move on... Sad.... read more

We popped in later on a Saturday and even thought they looked like they were ready to close a little early for the night the staff was very gracious and accommodating. French fries were very good; hot and crispy. Personal Pepperoni Pizza was crispy and good. We also had the Gourmet Veggie Deluxe pizza but swapped banana peppers for the olives. I'm now a lifelong customer at Gianni's NY Pizza!! Thank you, Rich!! (P.s. I will be calling next weekend to order again! It's tradition at our house!!)*** Their pizza was great as usual. We got "the works" pizza (minus green peppers and extra mushrooms) which was excellent as usual. Plenty of toppings, nice fresh crust, and cooked to perfection. The mozzarella wedges were also very yummy! Nice big golden fried pieces of cheese. (Fry was a little off I'll explain in the French fry section) Reason for the -1 star: So, I'm not sure if it was an off day or something, but I ordered chicken tenders (tossed in buffalo) w/ fries because I just wanted the buffalo chicken, but I did try the fries. However, I'm not sure if the oil used to fry the French fries, tenders and mozzarella wedges was maybe a little old or overused, but the tenders soaked up a lot of the old oil and gave them a not so great taste. I didn't care so much about the French fries, but same thing... very saturated in over used oil so they weren't so good. The unfortunate part was that the same oils were used to fry the buffalo chicken which gave them a weird taste as well. Lastly., I don't think the garlic in the butter that was brushed on the garlic knots was cooked because they tasted quite strongly of raw garlic. I'm sure some people like that but I wasn't a huge fan. I won't let that take away any more stars because the pizza is always so good and I think that's the most important thing. They have CONSISTENTLY well cooked pizza that tastes great. In Florida , that's rare.
