Food was excellent, lots of parking, service was perfect, a great experience top to bottom

Went to this location for a late lunch so the place was nearly empty. We waited for over 20 minutes for biscuits to be done. They were overly brown when we finally got any. Our entrees we small portions, even though we ordered from the dinner menu. I got surf and turf, but couldn't even cut the steak because it was so tough. The waiter was condescending and asked if I'd like a filet at an $8 unchanged! Was snippy as he told me he'd take it off the bill. Bill came and only $11 was deducted. Hadn't been to a RL in 20+ years, so I thought I'd try it. This location hasn't been updated since the last visit. Lobster dip app was good. The crab carbonara was excessively salty from the bacon; too salty to taste the crab - and the dish was swimming in oil. Needless to say, it was disappointing. read more

Upon entering this restaurant, the seating hostess immediately greeted my husband and me and seated us in a booth. The waitress soon introduced herself. She was very nice and prompt in her service, and I appreciate that she wore a face mask and brought us a drink refill. Menu items included starters such as coconut shrimp and shrimp rangoon, entrees such as wagyu cheeseburger and linguini, various combination feasts, and desserts such as cheesecake and brownie. Here are my reviews for our foods: Bacon-wrapped scallops - 4.5 stars - These scallops were hot and juicy and wrapped in tasty bacon strips. Sesame-soy salmon - 4.5 stars - This salmon was tender and juicy and covered in a flavorful sesame-soy sauce. Sides included brussels sprouts, quinoa rice, and edamame, all of which were cooked well. I also appreciated that this meal was one of the healthier options in terms of calories and fat. Ultimate Feast - 4.5 stars - My husband ordered this feast that included snow crab legs, lobster tail, shrimp, a Caesar salad, and french fries. I did not taste most of his food, but my husband seemed to enjoy the food, and he devoured it all. Used to be one of my absolute favorite places to go out for dinner. The place has changed so much, portions have shrunk, an up charge for the salad that used to be included with your dinner. I went to my local Red Lobster today and was told after requesting my almost $4.00 refill in a to go cup, that next time I would be charged extra. Seriously..... I have paid almost $4.00 fir one small cup of diet pepsi, filled with mostly ice. I could literally go to the grocery store and buy 2-2 liters of soda for that. The place is really going downhill. not sure how this place can bounce back to its former glory. read more

First off I haven't been here in months, too expensive. Decided to treat myself! Opened silverware it was all dirty, food stuck on it. All three pieces. Got my drink and biscuits and when my entree came which was Crab Linguini Alfredo, there was little no sauce and what there was, very runny and no taste. Asked for more sauce and when it finally got to me my food was cold and sauce wasn't very warm. The plastic specials holder was sticky and covered with food on both sides. Entirely different menu than a year ago, and not for the better. was hoping for the Crab Alfredo which was my go to favorite but now not on the menu. I ordered the Crab Carbonaro and was totally dissatisfied with this dish (they now use crab that appears to be grocery store out of the can and really nasty tasting).. They also have replaced the breaded butterfly shrimp with a cheaper variety. Appears the entire menu has taken a dive, explains why the place was almost empty. read more

Our meals were amazing... but what I appreciated the most was that our server was wearing a mask. I'm immunocompromised, so I have high anxiety about going out in public these days. So when I see a restaurant going above and beyond to still be safe about COVID, I think they deserve to be recognized. I also appreciated the layout of the restaurant... the tables weren't close together and the restaurant wasn't packed with people. I felt comfortable here. So thank you, Red Lobster. Stopped into the Red Lobster for the first time in a while. It was early on a Friday afternoon (5:30) and we were seated fast. The waitress and staff were great. I can't complain about the service at all. I had a bowl of lobster bisque which tasted great, but was a bit pricey. For the entree I had the linguine with shrimp. This was a bit disappointing. The linguine was very dry. All the sauce was on the bottom and the pasta was just dumped on top. I had to mix it in but even still it just wasn't that flavorful. There were plenty of shrimp, but again the flavor just wasn't there. Just kind of bland. It was a bit disappointing. Overall it was an OK experience. Nothing bad, but nothing that great. Considering the price tag for the soup, linguine and a beer was just about $35, the meal just wasn't what I was hoping for. read more

We went here on a busy Friday night. The tables were all full but they were spaced out well so I didn't feel crowded. The service was efficient, we had a very pleasant waitress who was attentive without being annoying. Both my wife and I had dishes with different combinations of seafood including lobster, scallops, shrimp, Alaskan king crab and mussels. Although certainly not gourmet they were all cooked well and tasty with large portions. Considering this is Central Pennsylvania and no where near the ocean, our experience definitely deserved five stars. read more

I have never been disappointed with this location of Red Lobster! We were seated promptly and our server Eric came and took our drink orders immediately. When we were ready to order he took our orders and when the food came out our food was delicious and hot and exactly what we ordered. The restaurant was immaculate and as soon as customers left the staff was cleaning up the station thoroughly. They didn't just do a quick wipe down it was cleaned and the floors were vacuumed as well. We will continue to visit! Thank you for the wonderful experience! read more

Creamy anchovies waltz with translucent Parmesan cheese atop a verdant and inviting substratum of crucial support provided by our friend, Romaine lettuce. We feel Caesar himself smile on each aureus when we bite this salad. It truly contains a history of great empire. Nearly sated from the salad and biscuit buffet, the main courses arrived just in time to rejuvenate the hunger and lust that first drove us to this locale. Let the band play says Salmon New Orleans, orchestrating a beautifully arranged, yet cacophonous symphony of piquant lush you'd find only on Royal Street. If only the foil had come with the baked potato, I would have dove directly into the pool of alabaster cream and called it quits right there inside the spud. This is sublime goodness. Supple and forgiving flesh resisting before yielding to melt from corporeal to fluid cascade. Please, no more nectar. Colossal prawns crunched confidently under the weight of my partner's weighty jaw. Her hips began to revolve at the taste of the piña colada accompaniment as if the pig had been resurrected from its steamy pit and our luau had commenced. At last. As we stood, awestruck from a hormonally delightful onslaught, the reality of leaving our shrimp and fish palace fought to survive. Oh my!! I can't say enough words for this pick, well my husband's pick. I eat at the Red Lobster in Longview TX and 30 years ago it was great, but now I hate the place. But this 2nd largest Red Lobster is off the chain. The food, service by Patrick and the atmosphere was beyond great. Thank you for restoring my faith again. This was our first meal out since Emperor Tommy Wolf shut down restaurants. Strangely, at 5:30 in afternoon on a weekday we were either the only diners in one room or 1 of 2 tables in that room. We had quite a good meal: mine was 3 kinds of shrimp and was all I wanted. Wife had just coconut shrimp & again serving was plenty. Drinks were large & refills free. Service was no better than average, maybe below [example: we had to ask a different waitress to get us 2 items-- which is why 4 not 5 stars]. Salads were fine in taste + size [altho wife asked: no crotons, no onions, which was ignored]. Indeed we plan to eat there again atho it's 40+ miles away, but if assigned the same waiter will ask for replacement. I had given Red Lobster a lower rating a few years ago, based on food. Allow me to preface by saying that for two decades the Altoona Red Lobster has always been one of my top 2 favorite eating establishments in the area. My most recent visit on 2/8/20 has caused me to question my loyalty. My wife and I arrived at approximately 5 PM. We expected a long wait, but the wait was actually much shorter than expected. We were seated and our orders for drinks and appetizers were promptly taken, and they arrived in a very reasonable time. For my meal, I had ordered the snow crab legs. When they arrived, they failed to bring shell crackers or the melted butter. The meal was delivered to the table by someone other than the person we placed the order with, and by the time we could flag down our server to get the butter and utensils, my food was very cold (not good). About midway through the (cold) meal my waitress came by and asked If I needed anything, and I requested a refill on my beverage. It took 20 minutes to get a drink, and in that 20 minutes the server told me twice that "your drink order is in". Excuse me??? It takes 20 minutes to pour a beer when the place is not even busy??? I really think that my loyalty to this establishment has been misplaced. I eat out alot, and nowhere else in the Altoona area have I experienced this. I guess now I know. It's a shame. Had a bad experience here. Dated surroundings, very overpriced compared to what you can get in metro areas. The drink menu is vague at best. Anything past lobster is bland. Its clear they are hiring local talent and not into repeat customers. Cheddar biscuits are nice but can make your own better at home. I would avoid it like the plague and drive a little further where you will actually get quality service AND food. And to whomever from red lobster keeps asking me to contact them i truly am not interested. You have asked 3 times said you will work on it. Thats great. I already stated i dont want a free meal. I want a website with honest reviews and opinions not excuses and buy outs. Out of 42 reviews all 3+ this is my only 1 star. So i do not think I am overly critical, when i can honestly say this was a terribelexperience start to finish. Subpar in every way. 30 yards i would dine at olive garden 100 percent of the time of this establishment. The 3 people who havent had lobster that you impressed will make you feel better but this place is in need of a rescue. Walked into the restaurant and the hostess didn't even notice me till I asked if it was ok to sit at the bar. She wasn't asleep but may have been close. Ordered a beer and the grilled shrimp. The salad was good but a little heavy on the dressing. The sides (wild rice & steamed broccoli) were good but the shrimp was a little dried out and light on seasoning. Jenny the bartender was very friendly and attentive until I was about 2/3 done with dinner and my beer ran out. She then kind of disappeared when I wanted to order a second beer but I could hear her talking with another patron in the dining room. When she reappeared, I was finished with my dinner by then and skipped the second beer.
