*before they respond, we understand we didn't book gel or a gel removal* that is not what we were upset about, we understand that they were unable to do gel, and never complained about that. We did mentioned we didn't see an option to add either to our service, but that seems like that's the only thing they want to focus on, as they kept saying it in the phone, ignoring everything we stated* This was one of the most unprofessional and poorly handled salon experiences I've ever had. Despite having a confirmed appointment, my friend and I were left sitting ungreeted for 7-10 minutes. When staff finally appeared, they stated they had been in the back with face masks on and still had visible remnants on their faces. Our nail technicians never introduced themselves, never confirmed the service we booked, and immediately began working. The service we received did not match what was booked or what is described on the salon's website. The massage portion lasted no more than a couple of minutes and was so light it was barely noticeable. Complimentary items listed in the service description were never provided. At checkout, we were incorrectly told we had booked a completely different service, despite providing our email confirmation. At no point were we told the actual price of the service before checkout. We were simply rung up and told we were receiving a "20% discount." However, the total charged ($61) does not align with the service we booked, which should have been in the low-$50 range with the advertised discount applied. Instead, we were charged for a more expensive service without explanation or consent. After leaving, we realized our feet were still extremely rough and returned to the salon. I was forced to explain our concerns in front of another customer because a staff member refused to speak with me privately. During this interaction, I was spoken to in a condescending manner and questioned about whether I was "educated in nails." We were told a manager would call us regarding a partial refund. No call was made, and when we followed up, we were informed that our complaint had never been documented. When we finally communicated with management, specifically Greg, the situation escalated further. Greg repeatedly misrepresented our complaint, blamed us for issues unrelated to what we raised, and ignored repeated clarifications. During both text and phone communication, his tone was dismissive and unprofessional. He raised his voice, spoke over us, and accused us of "threatening" him simply for stating that we would be leaving an honest review if the issue could not be resolved. He also implied we should be grateful for a discount that was already being offered as a standard promotion. This was not a single mistake. It was a consistent pattern of poor service, lack of transparency, and unprofessional conduct from both staff and management. I believe the reviews of Olive Juice Beauty Bar management across Yelp and Google are very truthful. I worked with Roxanne Rabasco at Frederick Goldman Jewelry in NYC many years ago (Look at her LinkedIn profile). She had me terminated a few weeks into my role because I stood up to her mistreatment of me in an email. Throughout my tenure, I filed complaints with HR about her mistreatment of me. I believed Roxanne was retaliating against me because I was smarter than her, and because I refused to be her office minion or engage in gossip/join her clique of office loyalists. I am a Black woman, and a few weeks prior to my termination, she worked hard to get an Asian woman fired on the marketing team. She tried to get me to rally against this woman, and I refused. She was very much a Regina George type. After Roxanne got me fired from the company (and was too much of a coward to terminate me herself), she rallied and got a bunch of women in the office and had them block me on LinkedIn after I left. I believe she's a very vindictive person. She went out of her way to attempt to destroy my reputation. She gaslit and stabbed me in the back several times during my tenure. I found her to be very unprofessional, insecure, and I'm not surprised her marketing career didn't go very far. I would strongly encourage women, particularly women of color, who go here for services to be careful. Protect your mental health. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and equality regardless of their race, gender, class, and/or ethnicity. Also, women (regardless of background) do not deserve to be mistreated because of another woman's jealousy and mediocrity. Spend your money where you're respected and appreciated. read more

My kids bought me a $100. Gift certificate for Mother's Day, it was supposed to come with a $20.00 bonus. The shop did not honor that as well as argued with me over that fact. I got about 4 different excuses until I wrote a review. Then they finally sent me a $20.00 credit. I don't want the credit or money! It's the principle! I've never been treated like this before! They intimidate you, but never apologized! A simple apology would have gone a long way. They have a very basic operation. No massage chairs or jetted tubes. They charge $86.00 for a 40 minute pedicure. I tried to pay $99. and get a better one and their excuse was that I didn't request it, when I booked my appointment. I've been coming here since February! It's truly the best place I've ever gotten my nails done at. Bailee is by far the best nail tech I've ever worked with. All of the staff is super friendly and every time I go I feel like I'm home. The ambiance is very inviting and the retreat like feel is my favorite to experience every 2-3 weeks! Moved my dads appointment because his tire popped and they kindly moved it to another day however, I've gotten charged 5 times in the last month the $79 membership granted apparently I needed to catch up so I payed it and now they're telling me they were unable to bill me... I'm confused as to why I'm getting billed another $79 in the first place. Then I spoke to the owner Roxanne and she was incredibly rude as well as her front desk. This place is horrible and I still have a gift card to use there knowing that I'm not gonna get my money back. Please do not waste your time with the poor management and lack of communication and find somewhere where the owner actually cares about their clients rather than just shutting down every concern we have. (Edit they have responded and I caught up on all of my missed payments when I originally called to cancel my membership they kept trying to bill me for months on end and I was unaware of that) so for them to try to try to what embarrass me by saying it's due to missed card payments is crazy considering I caught up on $150 worth of missed payments and they billed me $79 2x in the month of November. This company is messed up and you can tell this is a first time business owner and she is very petty. This completely disregards the issues I had with the rude front desk and the questions I had about my membership in which I received attitude and hostility. read more
