The best view of Lake Erie is from this restaurant. The food is premium, service was excellent. Make sure you get there early if you don't have a reservation on a weekend.

Beautiful location! Great views from the rooftop. This was my second time visiting the restaurant. Made a reservation for dinner; when I arrived they said it was canceled. Luckily they were able to accommodate our group. One thing I love is how they bring a pictures of the dinner specials over to view on an iPad. Chef does a fantastic job with presentation. Ordered the halibut special and it was delish.

Came up here on a Sunday evening at 6:30 for a sunset view dinner. We were given a table with a reasonable enough view. I wasn't a fan of the black screens that were pulled down on the windows: let's be honest, people are there for the view. And it does get crowded in the evening, so make reservations. We had a server who was friendly, although I probably prefer a bit more quiet service than fun jokes. I really liked that they had their specials with pictures on a tablet. The servers all show the specials on the tablet very competently giving you enough time to look with detailed verbal descriptions. They don't however mention the prices for the specials. That wouldn't be an issue elsewhere but this place is oddly very pricey.... with $70 steaks and $60 mains. It's interesting how they've positioned themselves. In any case, there are some other dishes more on the affordable sides, so you can still come in and not have a $200 dinner. The starter we ordered was good, but the mains weren't as great. I ordered a burger which was just okay, bit dry. I did appreciate they served it separated so it wasn't soggy. Steak fries were decent with good presentation. My partner had the Walleye and rice, which was fine. We got the basque cheesecake and that was really good. It came with blueberries, candied nuts, etc. A crowd starts building up near the windows at sunset and that's not fun. Some people just came and stood there blocking the view for everyone else. So from some angles you see the black screens and from others you see people standing. So much for the best view in town :-) The Hampton charges for parking. I don't think in general they should out there, but I get it that it's near a touristy spot. The restaurant makes up for it by validating your parking. Ultimately, it's a bit too expensive for what it is. I may try the other hotel restaurants more on my return visits. I'd like to give this 3.5, but going with the 3 that Yelp allows.

The service was fantastic, the food was amazing and very filling! Ambiance was great. Depending on where you sit, you can look out and see Lake Erie!

What a great place for a Saturday evening dinner. We were able to find a seat at the bar while we waited for or friends to arrive. Food was great and service was great even though they were packed. I highly recommend.

Four of us celebrated our cousin's bday today! We chose a light dinner and dessert! As always, reliably delish, attentive service by Maizy, relaxing and quiet atmosphere; the open windows overlooking the bay added to a perfect early evening!

Fantastic restaurant with an unbeatable view of the Bayfront! The atmosphere is both modern and relaxed, making it a perfect spot for dinner or drinks with a view (especially when sunset happens). This restaurant is located on the top floor of the Hampton Inn & Suites Erie Bayfront Hotel, allowing for these beautiful views. As beautiful as the views are though, one star is taken off because of how they sometimes lower the black screens, preventing people from getting those views they likely came here for. It didn't ruin my experiences here in any way, but still. The food was excellent and beautifully presented and full of flavour. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell the staff here really care about creating a great dining experience. Yes, the prices are quite steep but that's what you'd expect when dining at a high-end restaurant from here. Whether you're staying nearby or just visiting Erie, Oliver's Rooftop is a must. Great food, great service, and that gorgeous lakeside view -- can't ask for much more.

Stopped here for an appetizer during happy hour. Ordered the crusted tuna and the spicy banana peppers. Tuna was really good, but a cut a bit thick for my liking. Was delious tho! The spicy banana peppers were enough for two (if not more), but we both agreed they were just "ok." They were stuffed w a mix of cheeses and it was just too much inside. Not enough chorizo and way too much of the cheese mixture (which was similar to a ricotta texture). Bread and sauce was great. Atmosphere was great and bartender's were attentive.

Nice service, nice view...my favorite part though is the food! This particular item has to be one of my top 3 favorite things I've ever eaten in a restaurant. Ordered it last year and again this year during our Erie trip. 99% likely to order it again if we come up that way next year as well.

Walked in at 230 and there are more than 2/3 tables empty. Asked if we have a reservation and said no and they said sorry reservations only. Hmm okay look at all the online reservations available which tells me they have tables available at all times. Shocked they actually turned away business. Won't be back

Absolutely a must. Such a great dining experience and our server Melissa exceeded every possible expectation. Customized lunch recommendations, guiding us through the menu, timing of courses and check-ins. She was perfect. The location and views are spectacular. We dined on Oct.12 so the rooftop had the glass up and closed but it did not take away from the view. I did the cheeseburger but had it done Philly style with the aioli, mushroom, onions, and peppers. We had the lobster deviled eggs for an appetizer and my partner went for the Walleye fish sandwich. Delicious food and exceptional service and would love to come back and would definitely recommend.

After extensively searching for a classy, upscale restaurant with a rooftop view overlooking Lake Erie, "Oliver's Rooftop" in Erie, PA definitely hit all the high notes for me. This place opened during the pandemic in late-2020 and since then, it has made a name of itself from locals and out-of-towners (such as myself). I made my reservation at 6:30pm (during the evening of Friday 9/15/2023) via-OpenTable roughly a week in advance to assure that everything would go as smooth as possible. I arrived with my +1 around 6:15pm, parked in the lot of the Hampton Inn & Suites (where Oliver's Rooftop is located), and proceeded to the elevator that leads to the rooftop where the actual restaurant is located. This place has a very nice feel to it with natural sunlight in multiple areas of the restaurant. It is an enclosed rooftop meaning that you do not get any of the outside elements when dining here. After letting the hostess know that we had reservations, we were seated within a couple minutes. Reservations are highly recommended, especially during the busier times on Friday and Saturday evenings. You will find booths with window views in every direction as well as tables that can accommodate the larger groups of people. Finally, a very open bar stretches throughout for sipping on a cocktail or even ordering an appetizer or full-on meal. As far as their food menu, they carry standard, upscale American cuisine including sandwiches, burgers, and quite a mix of surf & turf entrées including a seafood medley, 22 oz. cowboy steak, eggplant pasta, chicken piccata, lobster pasta, and filet mignon. In addition to that, they have appetizers such as sticky wings & lobster deviled eggs as well as soups and salads. Since I was technically in Pennsylvania, I decided to go with their "Philly Steak Sandwich" (for $18). This consisted of shaved ribeye steak sautéed with mushrooms, peppers, onions, and finished with provolone cheese and chipotle aioli. I completed my sandwich with a side of steak fries and a "Railbender Ale" straight out of Erie Brewing Company. My beer is brought out in just a few minutes while my sandwich comes out only a few minutes after that. This sandwich was very well-proportioned and tasted absolutely amazing. The perfect amount of seasoning mixed in with the tender shaved ribeye really hit all the high notes for me. When paired up with the onions & peppers and the soft sponginess of the bun, every bite was decadent and amazing. My +1 had their "Gourmet Burger" and said even that tasted great. As far as timeliness of the food, service that was provided, and the overall ambiance, everything in my opinion was very good. I will say that "Oliver's Rooftop" is one of the better rooftop restaurants I have been to. Choices in Erie, PA can be limited when you look at the picturesque view but I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. And if you happen to still be in a drinking mood (or if you wish to drink before dinner), they have a dedicated beer garden on the ground level directly outside of the hotel complete with picnic tables and umbrellas to shield out the sun. All in all, this is a place I highly recommend; perfect for a date or a large group. My rating, an above average four stars.

They had Gary, the owner of Virgil's, making his pizza and I was very much looking forward to having it again. He had my favorite pizza and I missed having it. So when I heard he was making his pizza again, I booked a reservation. Now, for the record, A. Francisco's is my new favorite pizza, Colin is a pizza genius. But I missed Virgil's, so I ordered my go to pepperoni pizza. I was pretty disappointed. As soon as they put the pizza down, I knew it was different. It didn't look like I knew Virgils to look like. The crust was different. The pepperoni was different... it wasn't Virgil's. I've eaten hundreds of squares. I would get 6 squares and eat them for lunch and want more...this time I ate two... just to be polite. The biggest difference was the dough. It didn't look like Virgil's and it didn't taste close to what Virgil's tasted like. My wife had the house made spaghetti with shrimp and it was very good. The buratta balls were excellent. Those were from A. Francisco's menu and we always have excellent food from here. But for someone who loved Virgil's, this was NOT the Virgil's that I remember and loved. I don't know what happened to his dough, but tonight I'm going to A. Francisco's for my new favorite pizza made by Colin. I'm not a fan of their pepperoni, so I go sausage and arugula. If they ever get the old world pepperoni that curls up, I'll go back to my go to.

Crispy on the outside with perfectly melted, gooey cheese inside, and served with a marinara that was flavorful without being overly sweet. For our entrees we tried the OG (added sausage) and the prosciutto e arugula (added mushrooms). Both were delicious, featuring a well-balanced, crispy oven-baked crust that wasn't overly crunchy, elevated by parmesan, red pepper flakes, and a touch of sea salt. I also had an Aperol spritz to drink which was refreshing and perfect. Our server was quick and kind, and the vibe was modern and moody. We definitely see ourselves returning.

We've actually tried to return a couple times since that first visit, but apparently other people have discovered the place too. Both times we showed up without reservations and struck out. Lesson finally learned: MAKE. THE. RESERVATION. This time we did, and Room 33 reminded us exactly why we loved it in the first place. We both ordered Sonny's Short Rib, served over mashed potatoes with roasted carrots. Absolutely delicious -- tender, rich and packed with flavor. Although I gotta give the 2021 version the edge in the looks department. And you can't celebrate a birthday without dessert. Melissa went with the peanut butter pie, while yours truly handled the chocolate lava cake with ice cream. Both were worthy of the occasion. Different band than our first visit, but the same great energy. Live music, cocktails, that cool speakeasy atmosphere and a room full of people having a genuinely good time -- Room 33 just knows how to create a night out. The restaurant is much larger than it appears from the outside. Once you head through the first dining room and down the steps, you're greeted by a warm, homey dining room with a surprisingly spacious bar. It has a comfortable neighborhood feel, and the staff was friendly throughout our visit. Our cocktails arrived in about 10 minutes, and the hush puppies followed about 20 minutes later. They had a nice flavor, but were much denser and chewier than I expected. The bigger issue was the wait for our entrees. With the restaurant not appearing particularly busy, nearly 50 minutes for fried chicken and jerk chicken felt excessive. The good news? The chicken absolutely delivered! Both the fried chicken and the jerk chicken were packed with flavor and easily stole the show. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, while the jerk had a wonderful balance of seasoning and spice. Those dishes alone made the meal worthwhile. Unfortunately, my mashed potatoes arrived warm instead of hot. After such a long wait, I was hoping everything would come out piping hot, and that side just missed the mark. Cole slaw was fresh but pretty boring in the flavor department. I really wanted this to be the five-star experience that so many others have had. While this visit didn't quite live up to the hype, the quality of the chicken showed why Pineapple Eddie's has earned such a loyal following. We'll happily give them another shot someday and hope they earn that elusive fifth star.
