After reading all the good reviews we were excited to try this place. It was very disappointing. The fried calamari was soggy and lack of flavors, I just wish they could have at least seasoned it or added some salt. Tried a few different kinds of pizza, tasted like the ingredients were just thrown together, also lacking in flavors. I would not come back again. read more

This is my go-to spot for buffalo chicken pizza for almost a decade now. If your soft pillow-like self thinks otherwise and you're ready for some fisticuffs, my house is adjacent to the block down Croxley's. The Grandma slice is definitely comes in at a very close 2nd place, but this has always given my wife and I our Buffalo chicken pizza fix hands down. Love the pizza quality in general. I have been here four times.. first two times was a job party. Food was delish and service amazing! Wanted to see if they were on their game being a regular customer. Not disappointed at all!!! The staff welcomes you and is so very attentive!! Was there today for lunch and there was one waiter. At one point he had about 8 tables! He was amazing!! The pizza is pretty good. My biggest complaint is that often the boys at the counter will handle money then touch your pizza no gloves or washing hands..... kinda gross... the last time I went the guy at the counter was eating with his hands, handled my money, then touched my food. We have been coming to olivetto for years and have never been disappointed. The penne Ala vodka is a family favorite. Everyone requests it, we haven't found another that even compares. They're very good with special dietary requests (vegan, vegetarian). Staff is always friendly and helpful, they always recommend great dishes. Could not recommend them more. read more

How has no one mentioned the SHRIMP PESTO slice of pizza? Simply put, THE BEST SPECIALTY slice of pizza you'll probably ever have (of course, if ur not allergic to shrimp..obviously).... their marinara sauce actually tastes homemade, not like some jar of hunts with garlic powder in it like some places just lazily dump on....their regular/plain slices arent the best, i'll admit, but that's not why you come here. You come here for specialty slices, entrees, and even desserts. Their meatball parm hero is the closest thing to my mom's homemade stuff i've had at a takeout/restaurant. If you eat here be sure to compliment everyone, smile and nod, and say that everything is delicious. If you don't, you'll receive angry staff, dirty looks, and an aggressive manager/owner. Not to mention cold, tasteless food with an attitude. The house wine will give you just enough of a headache to forget how unappetizing the food is. I cannot comment about the pizza because I haven't tried it, but I gather that it wouldn't be any better. This restaurant is mediocrity at its best; so, if that's what you're interested in, they will most certainly entertain you. Back in town and noticed the name changed from vitos to OLIVETTOS. Once inside this is NOT The same restaurant.. Beside the restaurant making me feel like I was in a small town in ITALY, with all the beautiful hand-painted murals. The food was beyond amazing .. I love Olivetto's. I really do. The penne a la vodka is amazing. Tonight my husband and I ordered a meatball hero, chicken roll and penne pesto. The meatball hero was great. The chicken roll came without a side of sauce which was kind of annoying but tolerable. But the pesto...oh dear god the pesto. It was literally a puddle of oil. I took one bite and had to spit it into a napkin. It was so disappointing to waste the money. Been dining here for a few years. They have a nice mid week price fixed menu. On average, we always found the food to be adequate and we found the staff friendly and it had a decent environment for a pizza parlor. However, as time went by, it became more crowded which caused significant wait time. we had noticed a severe decrease in food quality and customer service. For instance, when we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation. I asked, "since when do you take reservations?" The hostess answered, "oh! Of course you need a reservation." She acted As if it were Peter Lugers steakhouse. It's just a simple pizza parlor. There were plenty of empty tables, but she would not let us sit at one because we did not have a "reservation". We had to leave. We went one more evening after this incident. I ordered broccoli rabe with sausage. When it arrived, it was dry as a bone. I asked the waitress if she could have the cook add some liquid to make it moist. This dish is usually prepared using garlic and chicken broth. She took the dish back and did not return until the people I was with, completely finished their dinner. When she returned and I tasted it. All the cook did was add a ton of oil to it. It was completely inedible. It was swimming in oil. It was quite obvious that the cook didn't like criticism. They refused to correct the problem and refused to adjust the bill when I was forced to leave the whole dish uneaten. It seems success has gone to their heads but they fail to remember, what goes up, comes down just as easily. This is New York where there's great dining places every other block. I keep trying to give this place another chance because it's my closest pizza spot but I had the Worst eggplant slice I've ever eaten here. It tasted off and sour. Most places don't know how to make a good breaded eggplant that's fine but don't pretend you can and make people pay good money for some soggy mess. Well just left there for a group of 15 for a Birthday lunch. We called in the order for a sit down 1.5 hrs earlier to make sure we had time to eat since we only had an hour. Well we waited 1 hour for the pasta to come, some of guests had to leave without eating because it took so long for the food!. Then to add insult to injury the manager had the nerve to try to rip us off on the order. We ordered 5 plates of penne only 3 came. They told us that they added more pasta to the other plates. Who does this!. We called them out on this. We were just there not to long ago and the portions were the same! We will never return. Bad service and lies. We've only ordered pickup from them so far. Their regular and sicilian pies are excellent. The sicilian pie is HUGE, feeds at least up to 6 people. I like their sauce (not sweet and not too salty). The sicilian also has little crushed tomatoes and i believe some minced onion. I liked it a lot. Service is friendly and fast. We will be ordering out again soon. read more

Terrible customer service. I called last night at 7pm to order a buffalo chicken pizza pie and a Nutella pizza pie. The girl that answered the phone said "We usually don't start making those until 8pm" I said "it's 7pm" She said "let me check" then came back on the line and said "Yeah we're too busy we can't make it" I just hung up without saying anything. NOT SAFE for people with nut allergies... I used to love this pizzeria and after recently being diagnosed with a peanut / tree nut allergy, they assured me multiple times that they did not use any nut products anywhere near the pizza. They assured me that they understood how serious a concern it was. However, I walked a few weeks to see one of the employees who had repeatedly assured me of this using a nut spread on the pizza counter. It was right up against the trays with the regular pizza and he was doing it quickly and rather carelessly. When he saw me standing there, he sheepishly apologized and I left. I returned later that week to explain to him how dangerous that is and why and I expressed my disappointment but he really did not seem to understand the seriousness of nut allergies. From what he said, this happened because they were rushing and it sounded like it may have happened before. I am not confident that it would not happen again in the future. I would not recommend this pizzeria for anyone with a nut allergy. (I didn't want to give this review any stars but couldn't figure out how to get rid of the one star.) read more

This is our go to place for take out slices or a sit down dinner. The food is excellent and the stratiacelli soup is the best I've had. For a specialty slice - try the chicken broccoli rabe but get it early as it is usually gone by late afternoon. Also look for the pasta nights or the chicken nights .
