Came here with some friends after my show. We were seated very quickly. They give you a nice warm jacket of bread and butter. No need to ask for the oil it's right on the table. When I asked for some grated Parmesan we were brought a bowl to keep in the table !!! Love that as I am a cheese feen and hate having to keep asking for it. Got the calamari appetizer. It's lightly battered and lightly fried. Very light and good. I got the chicken parm. Serving sizes are large and definitely shareable. Place is a decent size and cans hold at least one large party as there was one there when we arrived maybe two. Without it feeling crowded. Definetly would come back !

What a beautiful restaurant. The decor inside is old school Italian meets modern. The wait staff is beyond generous and kind. The fresh bread they give you at the table pairs so well with the olive oil. The food was brought out quickly and was hot. Everything was so amazing. No wonder it was packed on a Friday night. A must try if in the area.

Came here Saturday night for dinner with my mom. We were seated right away and they were somewhat busy. The waiter came over and we said we needed a minute. That turned into 20. We ordered drinks and when they came we asked for straws, after about 5 mins my mom went to the bar to get them. We ordered the Russo salad, my mom got the shrimp oregenata and I got the shrimp monachino. The Russo salad was supposed to have celery, it didn't which is fine just saying. It had no taste at all. Super bland. My shrimp dish wasn't great. I didn't love it. The portions are pretty large I will say. It was pretty empty after we got our salad and service wasn't great. It was also super loud but that was the table behind us. Hope that lady has fun on her Disney trip cause she was screaming about it

This location lives up to their stellar reputation of their previous location on hillside. A lot of the staff remains the same so the welcoming feel remains the same. If you are in the mood for Italian and are in the area definitely stop! Many restaurants loose the flavor when they relocate from their original location. This is definitely not the case! Food is still top notch!

This is such a solid place. The atmosphere is very cozy and the staff are all on point. The food is very good. We (3 of us) shared the calamari as an appetizer. It was very good. I got this delicious stuffed pork chop in a marsala sauce. It was very tender. My friends got the chicken franchise and some other chicken dish. they liked it a lot. We got some cappuccino's and a tartufo for dessert to share.

I've never gotten anything but the calamari here but I will say- it is absolutely delicious. It is not deeply fried but still crispy while being lightly battered- basically, just right. They also serve the marinara sauce hot here versus cold which I think compliments it better. All in all, I will return to try other items at Cara Mia- I just hope it's as good as the calamari haha.

Gnocchi asked them for pesto sauce - 5/8/2025

Really good service here they are very attentive. Nice atmosphere with white table linens - perfect for a date night. Good drinks - I had one of their special drinks with prosecco and orange juice tasted like a mimosa. I ordered gnocchi and told them to use pesto sauce in it - it wasn't on the menu but they were able to accomodate me - the portion was huge and served in a beautiful scooped plate/bowl. My husband's salad looked amazing and had really good and generously portioned provolone cheese cut up in long cubes inside it. Drinks are on the pricey sideGive this place a try!

Came here in a Tuesday night with my friend and my brother. Got seated right away. The restaurant eventually filled up compellingly which was a good sign of how great this place is. Staff was very friendly and checked in on us constantly. Iliked the look of the restaurant, - very cozy. We shared the Fried Calamari which was really good. I liked how they had Eggplant Rolatini (one of my favs) as an Appetozer even though we didn't order it. My friend ordered Sergio's Reserve Pork Chops and my brother had the Pork Chop Voldostano, both of which they loved. I still definately be back. My friend came back twice more since then with his family.

10/10/24. Last minute plants to dine at one of my favorite Italian places. Ordered the shrimp parm (with a side of penne bolognese), and zuppa de pesce. These dishes are my favorites, and were wonderful! My only one pet peeve is being asked if I am done, while I am still eating, but other than that Jordan and Thomas were great. Plus the music was great, all 80's/90's, ha. Highly recommend this family owned restaurant.

When we walked in, a kind gentleman warmly greeted us and seated us right away--a great start. As soon as we sat down, complimentary warm bread with butter was served, which was a nice touch. Throughout the meal, the bus team was attentive and courteous--our water glasses were refilled without us having to ask, plates were cleared promptly, and clean utensils were provided to replace used ones, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case with our waiter. He took our order and then essentially disappeared--we didn't see him again until we had to wave him down for the check. Honestly, we wish the bus staff had been our server. We shared the seafood salad, which felt more like a single-person portion than something meant to share. I had the filet of sole Francese, and my husband ordered the chicken Pugliese, today's special. The fish was good, but I wasn't particularly wowed--the food wasn't bad, but nothing really stood out. While there were some nice touches, the inconsistent service and lack of standout dishes make it hard for us to return.

For appetizers we ordered the pasta Fagioli and the eggplant Rollatini. The eggplant rollatini was the better of the two dishes. For entrees, we ordered the grilled chicken fettuccine Alfredo and chicken francese. Chicken francese was the better of the two dishes. The Alfredo sauce was watery and not as creamy (the ratio was bit off). For dessert we ordered the tiramisu and the rum cake. The rum cake had generous amounts of rum. Overall we have had better food and service. Thankfully we were able to dine in as walk ins at the very last minute. We have had better food and experiences at other neighborhood Italian restaurants.

It immediately gave me that cozy, old school neighborhood Italian restaurant feel, almost like the set of Cheers. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and packed with people. I ordered the Short Rib Pappardelle and the Grilled Lamb Chops, and both were a 10/10. The pasta was rich and flavorful, and the lamb chops were cooked perfectly. Even my brother, who's a very picky eater, thoroughly enjoyed his meal. The food smelled so incredible on the drive home that I was honestly tempted to pull over and eat it in the car. For takeout, you exit the main entrance and walk around the corner to the back of the building, where they have a separate area serving pizza and other quick bites. When I arrived around 5:30 p.m., the restaurant was bustling, and the takeout counter was lined with orders waiting to be picked up. They also offer outdoor dining. While I was waiting, I noticed the portions being served to diners at the bar, and they definitely don't skimp. The servings are generous, which makes the value even better. It's easy to see why this place is such a neighborhood favorite. Great food, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely be making the drive from Brooklyn again.

The standout item was the Grandma pizza, which was excellent. The crust, sauce, and overall flavor were exactly what we were hoping for. The other dishes were good, but generally average and not particularly memorable or exceptional. Nothing was bad, but aside from the pizza, nothing really distinguished itself from similar offerings at other local Italian restaurants. The service was personable and friendly. However, it fell short of exemplary. We had to ask several times to have our water glasses refilled. To be fair, it was a very busy evening and our waiter appeared to have his hands full, which likely contributed to the oversight. The décor felt somewhat dated and could benefit from an update. While ambiance isn't everything, it does contribute to the overall dining experience. For us, the biggest drawback is location. At about a 25-minute drive from home, we didn't find the experience compelling enough to justify a return visit. There are simply too many other restaurants on our list that we'd rather try or revisit. While we don't regret giving it a chance, it's probably a one-and-done visit for us.

After I called to explain my experience, the staff acknowledged that they had received similar complaints about their takeout calamari and invited me back so they could make it right.
