If you ever make it to Mauna Kea, Olivine is a must-visit. This place has everything going for it: incredible food, attentive and courteous wait staff, and a view that almost steals the show. The dishes are outstanding -- from the flavors to the presentation, everything feels carefully considered and high quality. But beyond the food, what really makes the experience memorable is the service. The wait staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and relaxed, which adds a lot to the overall vibe. Then there's the view. It's hard to overstate how much a beautiful setting can enhance a meal, and at Olivine the scenery is as good as the cuisine. Every visit feels like a special occasion. We go every time we are in Mauna Kea.

For a restaurant inside the Grand Wailea, Olivine was a big disappointment. Service was the biggest letdown. One of the servers was outright rude to us for no reason, and the rest of the staff seemed disengaged -- not what you'd expect at a resort of this caliber. The food didn't redeem it either. The oysters were mediocre at best, the olive salad was poorly executed, and my sandwich/salad combo was flat-out bad. Nothing felt fresh or thoughtfully prepared. Between the subpar service and lackluster food, this was not the experience we expected. Will not return.

This place was so luxurious with a beautiful view of the ocean! The food was so delicious, one of the best pastas I've ever had. The service was a bit slow but very well managed. Perfect for a date!

Pizza Margherita - very tasty, with a light, thin crust and a satisfying amount of cheese. I missed seeing their squash blossom or charcoal pizza. Wine bottle prices raise an eyebrow with *3 digits* being pretty common. But? Glad they offer better wines, because you have to splurge once in awhile. But huzzah! $18 for a nice pinot grigio is within reach. Oysters sounded amazing but at $36 for a half dozen, eeek! pass. Service was pleasant, even after I changed my drink order, but not really stellar. He did his job, all good. But no suggestions or check-in after food was dropped. Not a big deal but a noticeable difference in service. View was amazing, pleaseant breeze at 4 in the afternoon. I'd return for the ambiance and perhaps try a drink special.

The hotel gave us a gift card to use at the restaurant during our stay. We sat by a window and had great views of the pool/ocean. The staff were super friendly. We got the panzanella caesar salad which was nothing special. The margherita pizza which was yummy. If you're a spice lover ask for the Calabrian chili oil- it added the perfect spice kick and flavor to the pizza.

It was so nice to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze and the lovely ambiance as we dined at Olivine. I am trying my best to stay away from meat, so I ordered the amazingly delicious Crispy Squash Blossoms. I would describe them as a beautifully delicate, crisp, aromatic dish with burrata, macadamia nut pesto, local hot honey, espelette pepper, and honeycomb. This appetizer was my favorite! I also enjoyed the Mushroom Cauliflower Bolognese, a richly savory, hearty, and wonderfully comforting plate of handmade orecchiette with cashew ricotta and parsley as my main course. I always appreciate and enjoy fresh pasta and veggies. Our server was very kind and attentive, the portion sizes were generous, and although the meal was a bit pricey, the quality and experience made it worthwhile.

Spent a night in Maui and dined at Olivine at ~7:15pm for dinner. For an Italian place, their Hamachi was so fresh and delicious (I mean c'mon, we're in Maui-- of course it was fresh!) We shared the Kona Lobster Pizza and Brussel Sprouts. I loved the chunky lobster bits and thinly sliced garlic all around the pizza. And the Brussels were nicely crisp and had a hint of sweetness. Just as we thought our stomachs were full, our server, Christine, recommended the Tiramisu. Sure enough, we gobbled that up, too! --Mahalo Christine! We really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant and the food! Next time, we'll dine before sunset, when there's still light out to enjoy the view

We hit the jackpot with Richard as our server. Between Richard and the Fennel Sausage Pizza we had a near-perfect night! Loved our evening at Olivine. We had a beautiful table at sunset near the window. We started with drinks and a salad. Richard made excellent recommendations and really shared his thoughts behind the creation and flavors of each dish. You can tell he's very passionate and excited about the menu and food offerings. We ordered a salad, two pizzas, a fish entree, a pasta, and a dessert. It doesn't sound like tons, but it was a lot of food. The Fennel Sausage Pizza was my favorite - the humbolt fog was perfect on the pizza. The dessert - a flourless chocolate mousse cake was delicious. Compared to other pricing at the hotel, I really felt like the menu was well-priced and not overly expensive. Excellent service, beautiful restaurant, and delicious food!

The food here is delicious. My bf and I utilized both their pool services and went here for dinner and honestly, their pool menu was better than their dinner in my opinion. During our stay, we tried the charcoal pizza, margarita, and squash blossom pizza and honestly, some of the best pizza I've had. Their dough is incredible. Their hummus was also delicious and one of my favorite snacks from the island AND very generous with their portion. It was served with pizza bread and the hummus was h the perfect creamy texture. Dinner was just okay. I got the wagyu bolognese and couldn't eat it because it was so salty but the server did a great job handing it and letting me order something else instead (another pizza of course). The brussel sprouts were also delicious! I love that the atmosphere is more laid back and you have some great views of the sunset.

My lunch here was one of the highlights of our trip. Wandered in after walking along the beach path hot and hungry. We got a great table by the window. Everything I ate was outstanding. Loved the hummus starter with fresh veggies - and the macadamia pesto pizza with mushrooms was unbelievably good. Would eat that every day!

We ate lunch here twice. And because the Fresh Catch Sandwich was SO ONO... we got it both times. The fish was fresh and tender. The bun was melt in your mouth. The chips were super light and crisp with the perfect amount of salt. We sat at the bar both times too since it was easy, open and had TVs showing Football. Both of us (my husband and I) enjoy watching football so it made the most sense for us to sit at the bar. Plus, I like watching the Bartenders in action. Service is very good. The bartenders work as a team and are good at making sure everyone at the bar is take care of while they manage the dining room drink tickets. The kitchen runs your food out directly to you at the bar. We really didn't have to wait long either time for our food. The dining room area has large open windows so the entire restaurant feels like it's outside, but not. The bar is pretty spacious... I think it seats like 20 or so. Olivine also services the Hibiscus Pool which is just steps away.

This deli is located in a strip mall and is bigger inside than it looks from the outside. On one side they have the ordering area with a beverage cooler, a display case, and hats for sale with their logo. The other side has seating and can probably fit around 30 to 40 people. For lunch on this day I went with the chicken pesto panini while my father went with a hot dog with mustard and sauerkraut. The menu described my sandwich as chicken breast, sun dried tomato, toasted pine nuts, provolone, and pesto spread, and my father's simply as sauerkraut and mustard. It was busy when we were there, so it took about 10 minutes to order and another 15 minutes for the food to come out. Since we ordered separately, my food came out first and even though I planned to wait, I had enough time to eat it while waiting for my dad's. The chicken pesto panini ended up being quite good. The chicken was moist and flavorful and there was more than enough cheese. The sun dried tomatoes added a nice pop of flavor, although I wish there had been more. My favorite part was the pesto spread and pine nuts, especially the garlicky flavor from the pesto. My dad also thought his hot dog was good. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I enjoyed my sandwich and my dad enjoyed his hot dog, so I would be interested in trying more of the menu.

We had the smoked maminha tri-tip steak, Okinawa purple sweet potato, grilled maui onion and broccolini. Beautifully plated on real plates and silverware. No comparison to the so many common $21 food truck entrees and cost just a little more. The owner also is very sociable and enjoys talking about this food in a variety of languages with passers by and customers. On the far end from main entrance to the Kihei Food Oasis, or right at the other entrance, depending on how you enter. I wish we had found it earlier or we would have eaten there more than once!

lilikoi meringue tart ($10) - perfect tart to me actually…read more - usually sour flavors like these tend to be too sweet as the baker attempts to compensate the sourness, but that highkey backfires because when the dessert is too sweet and sour i end up hating it - this one however was just right; not too sweet and it's got just enough crust to pair with the lilikoi braised beef loco moco - an elevated take on loco moco that made me realize a simple dish can actually be impressive - the immaculate presentation was one thing but the flavor and texture exceeded my expectations for how a loco moco can taste - the crispy rice was nicely charred; not too burnt; usually charred items taste overdone and burnt but this had a nice note to it; wish it was crispier though but it might be because we were waiting for ages for the rest of the dish - braised beef was extremely tender - sauce was great but i wish it was a bit thicker and less liquidy - the pickled veggies were pretty well made too; they were lacking some kick and brightening flavor but the quality is there shrimp kauai - the shrimp was so juicy and the sauce well done; so fresh it was naturally sweet - the head was golden too, filled with natural sweetness -flavor on point; i had nothing else to say about this dish other than it was near perfect - same comment on the pickled veggies here as above rating: 4.5/5 - every dish was well done; not perfect and can improve but i was already well satisfied - the flavor, texture, and portion made the meal so worth... probably the most affordable food we've had on this island given the quality and care they put into each dish - it operates as a food truck within this zen buddha looking garden - very cute at night with fairy lights, plants, and other decor - highly recommend - service was kind and friendly but it took a long while for the food to be ready; makes sense though given how elaborate their dishes looked!
