    Horchata

Olivo Cafe is a small Mexican restaurant near the Shipyards. I had a late lunch there and ordered a wet burrito, as well as a horchata from their happy hour menu. The wet burrito was gigantic and full of flavour, and the horchata had a nice sweet taste to it. While the restaurant was a bit on the expensive side, the quality of the food justified the price. I plan on returning again soon!

Here's a cleaner, more polished Yelp review that still sounds honest and firm without sounding overly emotional or rambling: My husband and I ordered the nachos with the added Asada, the Quesabirria, and two sodas (Mexican Coke and Sprite). Our total came to $59.54. When we arrived, we were told there was no indoor seating available and only outdoor seating was open. It was about 12°C, windy, and pretty chilly outside. We noticed they had outdoor heaters, but none of them were turned on. Because of the weather, we asked if we could switch our order to takeout, and the hostess said yes. After placing our order, it took about 20 minutes to receive our food. We originally wanted Horchata, but were told they couldn't serve it to-go, so we settled for soda instead. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The quesabirria was extremely bland and lacked flavor, including the consommé broth that came with it. They also only provided a tiny piece of lime -- basically half of a quarter slice. The nachos were underwhelming as well. Some of the chips were burnt, and the extra $7 for added Asada definitely did not feel worth it since there were only a few small pieces of meat throughout the dish. The mashed black beans also made the nachos look unappetizing. Overall, the nachos lacked flavor, and most of the taste came from the jalapeños. We can't really speak on the dine-in experience since we ended up taking the food back to our hotel, but based on the food alone, we left pretty disappointed.

Foolish American) when my friend and I were looking for Mexican food in Vancouver. La Taqueria was somewhat near (distance wise) to the suspension bridge. Definitely not walkable. It's in a more commercial area and we had a little bit of trouble finding it, but we managed to and good thing too. The food was so much better than I was expecting. It was absolutely delicious! Super cute interior with a good amount of seating. I want to make a note that this place did NOT have down time. There was always at least one customer at the counter or in line. I ordered the birria and I wish I had gotten two. My friend is vegan and was able to easily find something on the menu. Unfortunately, I forgot what it was, but she loved it too. I will definitely come back the next time I visit!

I imagine this is probably the least known location of them all. I expect that the menu is similar at all locations though. Having tried this one...I don't think I need to try any of the other locations. The food wasn't bad, but for what we got...I think it was extraordinarily overpriced. My daughter and I both ordered one cup of Horchata each. We were both in the mood for cheese quesadilla. On the menu you can order one 10" cheese quesadilla for $9.00. There's also a Mexican style quesadillas option on the menu which offers Two cheese quesadillas for $15.00. Rather than both of us ordering a separate quesadilla for $9.00 each, and then spending $18.00 total on quesadillas, we decided to share the two cheese quesadillas for $15.00. Wow...these two cheese quesadillas were puny. In all fairness, the menu doesn't state the size of the two cheese quesadillas, like it does for the individual 10" quesadilla. Still though...for $15.00, it really didn't seem like very good value. The quesadillas were delicious, but for $15? Really didn't seem worth the money. We polished off the quesadillas in no time and decided to head somewhere else for some more eats.

I was very close to ordering some tacos this time but then...my eyes caught sight of the Veganachos on the menu. So I cancelled my taco order and decided to order the Veganachos instead. The kiosk that I placed my order from had a "notes" section so I was able to type in my request for "no cilantro." We also both ordered Horchata for our drinks. While I do enjoy tacos, I guess I naturally gravitate towards other Mexican dishes more than tacos. I just keep thinking that I should try the tacos here one day, simply because the words "tacos" is in the name of the restaurant which indicates that tacos should be what they specialize in. Truth be told though, I just havn't found myself in the mood for tacos on any of the visits we've made to this place. One day, I will try their tacos though! The Veganachos were pretty good. Most orders of nachos I've seen at restaurants are usually larger than this order was. It had plenty of ingredients on it though, and it was a very good size for one person to have as a meal. Not an excessive amount, but not too skimpy either. I quite happy with it. Next time though...I will definitely try their tacos!

You enter your order on the tablets and then wait for your orde the come out on the conveyer belt thing. I found the delivery of the product quite disorganized when I was there. Everything come out and there is no explanation of what is what. I just thought they could they could label what the vegetarian items were when the came out. Several orders got crossed and some had incorrect items in theirs. It wasn't super busy either. Our food was moving to getting cold by the time we got ours. A real shame as jackfruit Mole was very good but the meat ones were getting too cold for me to feel comfortable eating. I'll probably try to tell the cook staff to seperate the vegetarian from the meat ones in my order next time. Still worth a visit though despite all the hiccups

Warm, buzzy, and genuinely welcoming from the moment you walk in. The enchiladas are my go-to, saucy and cheesy and full of flavour, I order them almost every time and they never miss. But truly everything here is great. The tacos are excellent across the board, the guacamole is fresh, the nachos come loaded, and you should absolutely save room for the churros because they're some of the best I've had. Portions are generous and the prices are more than reasonable for how much food you get. The margaritas don't disappoint either. It gets busy, especially on weekends, but the staff keep things moving and are lovely the whole way through. A proper hidden gem. I go whenever I'm downtown.

They have a pretty good indoor space that can fit a good amount of people. Their food and overall vibe was very authentic Mexican food. They gave us a bowl of chips when we sat which was nice. For mains I got their huarache de la casa, it was layered with tortillas (kind of like a cake of tortillas), carne asada, beans, lettuce, cream and cheese. It was cheesy and flavourful and super filling! I loved it! My friend got their gringa tacos which were on soft shells and pretty good as well. I would recommend this spot!
