I've had two oil changes here at this point, one when it was Olsen Bros and the other when it is now Gils. $80- something for the first oil change and $101 for the next oil change. They offer complementary tire rotations with the oil change service which I thought was nice. They did it the first time, but not the second time. I even confirmed THREE times that they were going to rotate the tires and they still didn't do it. I was taught to mark my tires so that I can confirm whether they were rotated are not. That leaves a reallly bad taste in my mouth. Don't offer something if you're not gonna do it. I thought about calling the business about the issue, but I imagine they would ask me back in to do the rotation and maybe some tech would get in trouble for not doing it in the first place and now he's upset, so I don't want my car to be in their hands again. I work in customer service, I know how people can be. Places to get an oil change are on every corner and now I will consider other places if and when my car needs attention. read more

I booked an appt. for an oil change and filter for my Honda; the first thing they did was attempt to sell me new spark plugs, (which I said were not needed, and was confirmed by the next mechanic/auto shop I visited who simply looked up my car's history on Car Fax). I knew front brakes were due, but by the time the oil change had been completed I was presented with an estimate on plugs, front brake pads and rotors @ $952. Two days later/an "honest" mechanic did my front brakes - they were in need of pads, but not rotors, and that mechanic also resurfaced the drums on my rear brakes ... $258. He said that Gills should have the same access as he, or any other shop, to the Car Fax records. I found the customer service to be rude - I waited for at least 15 minutes after my car was out of the bay, and sat in the waiting room while they fielded an incoming "complaint call", (re. brakes). I was outta there, and will never return. read more

I would like to start by saying that my family has been going to Olson Brothers from the time they opened. My Dad was a friend of the original Olsons and I never thought I would take my car anywhere else. I used to depend on them for a fair repair, and have literally been going to them for car repairs all my life. That is over now. I have had enough. I (and other family members) have noticed a dramatic change in the past 4 years or so. I can give you a few examples of what I have experienced. Last year I took my car in for an oil change (buy 1, get 1 free - note that), at which point they told me I would need brakes. I knew it was going to need brakes, and was expecting this. They told me I also needed rear rotors, and that was indicated on the paperwork. I ended up buying the parts and taking my car to a friend to replace the brakes all around to save money, as I got quotes from multiple shops in the area and it was going to be quite expensive, with Olson's being the highest quote by far. Part way through the brake installation, my friend lets me know that the rear rotors are completely FINE, but the front rotors need replacing. We bought front rotors and he completed the work, also installing the rear rotors as we already had them. My point being, this kind of thing seemed to be something that happened on every repair. Bait and switch? I would recommend always getting a second opinion when you take repairs to them. Just last week I went in to get that 2nd "free" oil change. When I made the appointment, I asked if it was truly free, and was assured it was. When I went in to pick up the car, not only was I told the "free" oil change was going to cost me just over $15 (c'mon guys, seriously? I would eat that charge for a disgruntled customer!), but I was also told my car was going to need just under $3000 worth of work. I took my car to another local mechanic shop that was recently recommended to me by a few different people. The new place looked the car over very thoroughly, told me that some of the work definitely did NOT need to be done (as in "No, that part isn't bad"), and then told me for the things that did need to be done, it would cost me less than $1000. That's really significant. These are not the only 2 instances I have double checked their quotes in the last 4 years. Luckily, I have mostly chosen to have my work done elsewhere, as I no longer trust them to be truthful with me on what truly needs to be done and what is fair on cost. Very sad to lose that trust. I never write reviews because I hate to bring down someone's business. But when you give them a chance to make it right and take accountability and they don't, other customers deserve to know. They bent the inner tie rod and i was not able to drive the car from their place. I showed them pictures of right before the towing but they said the picture is not clear and blah blah. I am not a fool guys. I run a business as well. 100% they damaged the tie rod. I have clear proof the car suspension was good before they towed it. They said it was like that when they towed it. So it goes back and forth my word against theirs. Once again, 100% they damaged it either by pulling it with a hook or using forklift to move it around the yard, I dont know. Its not a big deal its max 200$ parts/labor. The big deal is how the manager lies and will not take accountability even when I clearly explained to him the car was driving straight before it was towed and after that it was not drivable. Am I a fool? Its an interesting experience i will make sure to put a word out. I have customers too and I will make sure they know about you. This place needs a new manager and employees. Had a flat tire right outside of this place. Called their dispatch named (Katie) and schedule to tow my (2022 BMW X7M) to Kuni BMW. Katie was very nice & helpful with the scheduling, I was told that she's sending a driver out right after, driver would be arriving within the hour. So I was pretty surprise & amazed on the quick response but later found out all of that was bullshit. I patiently waited for first 90 mins before making my 2nd call, that's when things starting to fall off from what I was promised a driver was coming. On our 2nd time talking, she never made any effort on contacting her drivers for an ETA. I was never updated with anything beside "My driver is on the way, he will be there soon" So I called back the third time 90 mins later. This is what she said "I am very sorry for the long wait, me and my driver had a miscommunication, he said that since your right outside of our tow yard, he thought that he was supposed to drop it off at BMW dealership first thing tomorrow morning" what happened to "driver is on the way?" So much lies that was told. If you can't get a driver out say so, if you don't have a driver out, then don't take my business at the first place. If you ever ever get stranded and needed a tow, take my advice, don't call these guys. I was patient, gave them chances, they are just poorly run business. read more

Great service at Olson Bros Point S because they have a knowledgeable staff. What also aids in the process is they wear uniforms with the individual service technicians name on the uniform. Acknowledging an individual is always a great way to begin solving a situation. I was happy to have Tony answer the phone and then 45 minutes later when I drove in I knew who Tony was since he was ready to serve me when I walked in. I have been working with the TEAM at Olson Bros for nearly nine years and always I am provided with 5 Star service. We were taking a leap of faith going here as we had not been referred. When we arrived for our scheduled oil change apt, we were very impressed with the professionalism and cleanliness of the office, grounds and overall company atmosphere at Olson Brother's garage. The person at the desk was friendly, personable and clean! He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable with this being our first visit. In sitting in the waiting area, we noticed how happy the employees were, how willing to work they were (not lazy or dragging their legs). Our oil change and tire rotation which was included only took 45 mins or so. At the end, they washed our windshield and vacuumed the drivers side area. What garages do this anymore? I can't say more and can't wait until we go back! This place is a complete difference in comparison to the previous place we took our car. I would highly recommend this place! I ended up in a ditch for 2 1/2 hours during the ice storm waiting for a wench, only for my insurance to cancel looking for someone because they couldn't find any nearby tow trucks. I called non-emergency & they recommended this place, so I called. They said it would be approximately an hour, which, at that point, i was very thankful for. But within 15 minutes, the driver was there. He was so kind and professional and had to work really hard to wench me out. Had to deal with these horrible bunch of liars. Grandmother's car got stolen and then the thieves crashed the car trying to run from the cops. They towed the car and then charged her $370 and made her sign over the title to her car so she didn't incur more fees. The Owner Brad stated that they "do something no one else in the industry does" what load of crap. Tried to say theyd help her out by creditting the amount of the scrap value to wards her bill. My car was stolen. Then wrecked and towed. Instead of answering my question about what happens next you threatened collections. Then you charged over $350 to tow it 5 miles. We nearly got into a fist fight when 4 of your guys threatened one of us over trying to keep the personal items that were mixed in with the car full of stolen items your people kept. Then you demanded we sign over the title to cover your expenses to salvage the car after we paid cash for the tow. I could have sworn salvage yards make money. I can not say enough good things about Brad, Dan & the team at Olson Brothers. I got new tires a couple weeks ago and I was told that the old ones had some wear and the car could use an alignment. So I made another appointment for today and I'm so glad I did! Not only did they adjust the alignment but they noticed my oil was very low & topped it off and fixed my tire pressure sensor AND they fixed my side mirror button! When I arrived 6 of the about 12 staff in the lobby were not wearing masks. I had to request the older gentlemen hurling me to put on his "gator". Really disappointing. this is a place of business with all ages and health risk folks coming in and out.... management needs to make sure everyone is masking up. My car (a 2008 Ford Focus) needed some work -- the "check engine" light was on. My husband had checked the codes and knew it was an issue with the exhaust system. My husband called Olson Brothers and talked to the owner (we've been taking our cars there forever and my husband and Brad Olson go way back). He told them my year/model needed a specific manifold valve that was difficult to locate. They said it was no problem -- they can get parts quickly from their supplier in Milwaukie. Moreover, their had experience with this manifold valve: they knew "exactly" what the issue was -- it's a common problem with Fords. My husband asked if they could repair it and also take it through DEQ. This is something they say they do (for an extra fee, of course). We were told it shouldn't be an issue. Good. great! We dropped the car off on Friday night after work. As we'd requested, they'd get to it on Saturday morning. Shouldn't take too long, cost around $300 and they'd have it back to us on Saturday afternoon. Hot dog. So around 11:00am on Saturday morning, they gave me a call. Their garage had been open since 7:00am, I was the ONLY car needing service on Saturday, so I was delighted and hopeful they were done. Ohhhh, not so fast. They hadn't even STARTED yet. The tech said, when he started poking around, he'd realized we needed a specific manifold valve that was difficult to locate (sound familiar?). It would have to wait until Monday because their supplier closed early on Saturdays. On Monday afternoon, they called and the car was ready to be picked up. All done. They hadn't "had time" to take the car through DEQ and mentioned that the "check engine" light might stay on.... "but it'll go off after a few miles." Three hundred dollars later, I'm back on the road and the "check engine" light stayed on. Therefore, I get it through DEQ. The tech was smug and rude. They didn't fix what I needed fixed. They basically reached into my wallet, took $300 and left me with the same issues. Is it fixed? How would I know? The light is still on! So to recap: I paid $300 to have my car kept an extra day (with no apology), my check engine light is still on (TO THIS DAY!) and I have to circumnavigate the DEQ regulations to get my car registered. We were long-time customers, but no more. They used to be great, but now I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

What first impressed me was how friendly and nice everyone was. They were good about calling me as soon as my car issue was diagnosed and had a quote ready for me. I found the quote to be very reasonable and okayed the work. The repaired my car promptly and when I came to pick it up I was pleasantly surprised that my bill was actually less than the the quote. This is probably one of the last few family owned and operated old fashioned service stations. They actually wash your front and rear windows while you fill up, just like the old days!! If you ask they will even check the air in your tires and/or the oil in your car as well. These guys can be good, or the worst! Took a car in because tire sensors were failing. They put on 2 sensors and the system light came on again indicating one or more sensors was failing. Instead of taking off the original equipment sensor (11 years old) they took off a sensor that was a year old and of course the system light immediately came on again. I ended up paying for 4 new sensors Olson Brothers put on, plus the additional sensor that was only a year old. How much brain power does it take to replace an 11 year old/OEM sensor before you go to a new one? read more

Olsen Bros mounted and balanced my wheels and tires and did so without causing any damage to the black painted wheels. Could've done without the complementary window cleaning as it actually made the windows more dirty... that and he didn't pay attention to his body/clothes against my paint.
