Good Year really took care of me this past year as I unknowingly bought a used car from Car Max with a lot of issues. First off, if you have ever worked with Car Max, good luck getting a hold of someone by phone or finding an appointment. This is why I chose to work with Good Year, as they partner with Car Max and are able to process the Car Max coverage we bought into. My issues with my car began with water in my tail lights. While taking a look at the car they discovered extensive corrosion which was not disclosed by Car Max. I was also in a pinch for time as I was rushing to get my car fixed prior to my 90 day warrantee expiring. Good Year, specifically Jeff who is the service manager, really did his part to communicate with Car Max and advise me along the way. I was able to use my coverage to fix an electronic problem related to water damage and was not charged any money out of pocket. 6 months later more issues arose with the car and I returned to Good Year. They discovered more corrosion in the rear of the car and gave me some sage advice. They did a work up to find issues with alignment, tires, etc. but did not find any. Again, I was not charged any fees. I felt that I could really trust the input of Good Year and the staff there. My husband is handy, but not necessarily adept in mechanics. My dad also lives out of state, so I really had to rely on the input from people I did not know personally know. The staff at Good Year are knowable, they identified issues with my car just by verbally describing symptoms. I was never up sold or felt like I was pressured into buying anything. And they listened to my concerns and were transparent in their advice. I was able to sell my car to a dealership and receive an offer for more than what we paid for it. Problem solved. I am surprised to see some negative reviews, but I suppose most people with great experiences getting their car worked on, aren't rushing to write a yelp review. We bought a vehicle from Carmax nearby and it had an issue, Carmax helped set an appointment with Goodyear in Lake Oswego. We reported the issue after noticing the check engine light came on, but because it was intermittently shutting off, Goodyear informed us that the vehicle actually has no issue. When asked for further detail about what might have happened and why the check engine light came on, they said "Sometimes cars magically fix themselves"!!! We took the car back to Carmax who explained the issues going on with the car immediately because a check engine light isn't needed to diagnose the issues. The entire trip out was a waste of our time, a waste of gas in our cars to make the trip, and especially the $200+ they charged for "Cars magically fix themselves" fortunately Carmax is paying that fee because what a waste. Insist on not using this shop if it's ever an option. read more

I went in for brake fluid and power steering change. I called made the appointment without any problems. The manager even asked that I come in an hour later so he could make sure the mechanic would be finished with the car ahead of mine. I was in and out within a hour! The prices was 50% less than the dealership. That's money well saved for regular maintenance! It was my first time taking the SUV to a non dealership shop. It's 5 years old now so paying for the dealership service doesn't make total logic. I will try Goodyear again! read more

Look, will be straightforward on the review of this place. You have to manage these folks to do the correct service on your vehicle. You have to double check the forms are correctly filled out and attached to the correct vehicle, especially if you have multiple vehicles serviced here. Call IN ADVANCE to ensure all work was properly performed and your car is ready. Then, and only then, can you return for pick up. Finally, I would NOT recommend any services from this shop unless its only one or more of these services (1) oil change, (2) tire fix/replacement/new/rotations, or (3) alignment. That's it. Don't let them touch anything else. Don't let them convince you need new brakes, new shocks, new ... Take your vehicle to a different shop for a second opinion. This place used to be very good - maybe 3-4 years ago. But current team here July 2024 is not good and I don't have a strong opinion why. Could be store leadership or maybe regional leadership. I also know Goodyear has a new CEO effective January 2024 Mark Stewart. Could be the prior CEO who was problematic, or the new CEO is really messing things up quickly. I don't have a strong opinion on reason(s) why. For now, I can only recommend an oil change, tire work or alignment + expect to roll your sleeves up to make sure they do their job correctly. Had an appointment at 7:00 but they did not open until 8:00. Poor customer service...Never going back.

Unprofessional at it's finest here. Made an appointment only to be told that it would take 3 hours for an oil change. That's fine, they rescheduled us to another time. Came it for that oil change and it still took 2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. Then they tell me the price is going to be $10 more than the quoted price. Ok, I'm in a hurry anyway and don't have time to argue. Then they can't run credit cards and want to make a photo copy of my credit card, not a red flag at all. Guy says, "we deserve to get paid for this", completely unprompted and super defensive. I also deserve to be treated with respect and dignity but that ship sailed an hour ago. Fine, they take the photocopy and I go. Get the invoice later that shows the complete service break down that shows the original quoted price. Somewhere in the mix they decide to add in almost $10 and I have to fine a sub-line that says "* Shop supply fees cover misc materials used in servicing your vehicle that do not appear elsewhere on this notice and for profit." The entire rest of the invoice breaks down all the parts and labor that reflect the original quote. If you have a profit margin it should be tied into those costs, in fact I guarantee they are. What this reflects is an arbitrary extra cost "just because". It's unethical and terrible business practice. I'll be sure to steer clear of this business from now on, and make sure I let everyone I know to do the same. read more

It is not food, so I am not going to do my normal lengthy review. I will be short and to the point... I used to always go to jiffy lube for my cheaper oil vehicles and do the nicer vehicles I have owned in the past. Jiffy lube, other than being sub-par and sales men, they used to be a good deal at 18 bucks, then 20, then 22, then 25, now they are up to about 30 dollars an oil change in the past 2 or 3 years. I found Goodyear to be fair and under 20 bucks out the door. It also gave me an excuse to window shop the cute area with the family, and then to get to some of my SW favorites I usually don't have an excuse to go to. I will say there was no issues, no up sell, no lagging, and no rudeness from the staff, I would go again for sure! read more

I got a flat tire nearby so I came to see if they could help me with it. The guy told me in 5 or 6 hours! I didn't have the tools to put my spare on so I'm sitting 50 feet away from everything I need to be on my way and back to work but instead I'm waiting an hour for roadside assistance. What happened to good old boy customer service? I get it there are peoples cars being worked on but I remember a day when a man would t watch a lady struggling in their parking lot in tears and not at least try to help. I've upgraded my review because Sarah who works here deserves recognition for trying to make things right and I appreciate her efforts but I'm still upset that they let me go ahead and try to change it myself. I don't know a lot about tires. Or cars, for that matter. When the "low tire pressure" light in my Subaru outback came on, I brought my car in ASAP. Turns out, there was a giant screw in my tire. That's why I had no pressure. I got here at 12:40. I told them i had work at 3, and they promised to get my out of here by 2:30. I went out to lunch, then returned in about an hour. My car was still outside the garage and had not been moved. I went back inside, and the man who was in charge hurried back to the shop to tell them to work on my car. That was a little off-putting, to say the least. It made me wonder if I didn't come back until 2:30 if my car would be ready. It is now 2:15. There is no tire on my vehicle. I am now concerned. This is a small thing. But. Their wifi is filtered. No Instagram. Some Tumblr pages are blocked. It's annoying. read more

So, yesterday I got my first flat tire and had absolutely no idea what to do. I called Goodyear after googling tire repair in Lake Oswego and the representative on the line calmly gave me step by step instructions on what to do, including how to get towed, and what to expect when I got to the store. I really appreciated how patient she was with me. When I arrived at the actual store, I was helped very quickly and all the processes were thoroughly explained to me. My fear when dealing with anything car related is that I will be taken advantage of because my lack of car knowledge, but that didn't happen here! This store didn't try to upsell me on anything, talk down to me for not understanding anything about cars, or do anything that maintenance shops are notorious for. Getting a flat tire definitely sucks, but Goodyear made it suck a little less with their honest service. read more

My Prius had heating and cooling issues, they diagnosed it in a timely manner. Told me that my catalytic converter needed to be replaced, which would cost major $$$. They could have easily just taken my money and did it themselves, but instead were honest and told me it would likely be covered under warranty at the dealership. I recently bought a new set of GY tires but my car was shaking here and there and one tire had a slow leak. I took it in bc you get free balancing/rotations/maintenance for life. Billy was super friendly and informative on all aspects of tire maintenance. He admitted the Triple Treads weren't his favorite, which was off-putting, but mentioned a better, more expensive line that he preferred. I liked this approach to upselling, as I am in sales, because he didn't pressure me and justified his reasoning. Actually, I am the one that brought it up so, kudos to Billy. Mechanics were visibly happy and very friendly to me and my pitbull. The service was done before the quoted time. And the slow leak was reportedly a nail- fixed and plugged at no charge. Very disappointed. I just moved from Eugene to Portland and always used the Goodyear there because my work had discounts through them. They always took care of me, and I did my oil changes there for 4 years and bought a set of tires there as well. This is why when I moved I decided I would go out of my way to drive to lake Oswego. It was the closest corporate Goodyear to get my oil changed, and I chose them over the closer firestone even though the oil change was 15$ cheaper for full synthetic. They were busy so it took about 2 hours (which I was actually expecting so I went for a walk and actually enjoyed myself) They inspected my tire for free, and told me that the nail that was in my tire was at the "bend and flex" of the tire, which apparently is where the tire moves. Repairing the tire would result in an inevitable blow out, so they advised me that I would either need to buy new tires or leave the nail until the tire wouldn't hold air anymore. I wasn't expecting this because previously when a nail was fair enough away from the sidewall it was repairable. I told them I'd leave it for now and look into getting a second opinion. Sure enough, a few days later I took it to Sandy Blvd Tire, and they were amazed I was advised to buy new tires. They said the nail was about as repairable as could be, and fixed it for FREE and didn't pressure me for new tires. I know where I'm going from now on. read more

The good news is that they will do a Courtesy Check on your tires and rotate if you already have Goodyears. They get points for that. However, there was no one in the store when I arrived. I waited five minutes for someone to show up. I know they are a tire store - but felt like they pushed to 'upsell' me to new tires, which made me panic at the cost ... until I went home and read on the web that my tires still have some good life in them for a few more thousand miles. These tires are only 3 years old and have another 1/16th inch of tread before they HAVE to be replaced. Thumbs down for the "upsell". read more

Very disappointed in the fact that they couldn't replace or refund this purchase and when we purchased the chains no mention of this policy. I purchased four tires for my car on line. I scheduled an apt. at that time. Since I did this on a Friday night and am not very computer savvy I called on Monday and said I wanted to confirm they had the tires in stock when I came in on Wednesday. I was told "we'll call you if there are any issues." (Goodyear is a 45 minute minute drive from my house) I arrived on time for my 1pm appointment. In addition to the tires I was asked if I wanted to have the alignment checked, which I did. I was told it would be an hour. TWO HOURS later I was finally back in my car and on the road. When I got home I reviewed the paperwork. I couldn't find the tire pressure noted anywhere on it so I went out to the garage to try to locate that information on the tire sidewall. That's when I noticed the tires still had that milky-white residue on them that new tires sometimes have, but is washed off at the time of install. (It was raining when I left Goodyear so I chose not to stand in the rain and look at my new tires) Unable to locate the tire inflation size on the tire or in the paperwork I called Goodyear. The guy told me, "it's printed on the driver's door". Amazing technology I thought; my door KNOWS what size tires were installed and what the tire pressure rating is. I have been a Les Schwab fan for 30 years and thought I'd give Goodyear a try. Lesson learned. read more

I went to this place for some new tires and an oil change. I had called beforehand and asked how long it would take because I would be waiting there for the car. The guy said it would only take an hour. It ended up taking 2 1/2 hours. Also, the bill seemed too high. When I read it, I found that the salesman had added a tire protection plan without my permission. I had him remove it, but the trust isn't there anymore. Your money will be much more appreciated & spent at another establishment. Took vehicle in at 10:00 a.m. for a simple service, I was supposed to be notified when the service was complete, good thing I called at 5:00 p.m. As they close at 6:00 p.m. at that time I was informed my vehicle would be ready in another 30 minutes, DO THE MATH = WOW! Came in with tires purchased at another Goodyear-affiliated store from elsewhere in the country; asked for a rotation and to check a slow leak. They found the slow leak that 2 other businesses said they couldn't identify, and honored the lifetime rotation/balance on the tires. In and out, with no appointment, in around an hour. Realistic assessment of my remaining tread life, and no hard sell on replacements I don't currently need. This is why I keep going to Goodyear, nationwide. BEWARE! I live in the LO area and needed my summer/winter tires changed. Usually I go to Les Schwab but feeling lazy decided to try out Good Year. Big Mistake. The technician was not familiar with run flat tires and while removing it from the rim, ruined a tire. The manager rolled over the damaged tire to me and insisted that it was damaged before they took it off. Clearly, the tire rubber cut was new and the technician in the service bay was looking very concerned. Not believing them, I asked them to remount the tire and they refused because it would not be safe to drive on. So, too damaged to drive on but that is the way it was when they took it off???? I should have gone to Les Schwab. My advice is to avoid the Good Year store where they do not take responsibility for their actions and then lie to their customers. read more

Literally just stopped by to have a tire replaced on our Bmw that had a chuck of metal and was loosing air fast and was told no that he didn't want to sell us a tire and replace it. Absolute terrible service and extremely unsafe practice to turn down such a safety aspect of a customer vehicle, especially during regular business hours. I have used this tire store for years and have generally been quite pleased. Today, I felt that a mechanic there lied to me and tried to get me to buy tires that I did not need. He said my flat tire was unfixable and that I should buy 4 new tires to replace the one that could not be fixed (as it had a staple in the tire). He also said he put 40 pounds of air into the tire so that I could drive it at least the rest of the day; neither was true. Les Schwabe fixed my flat Goodyear tire (and found no hole where the staple was supposed to be but instead found a small nail hole in a very different location on that tire). Also, checking the air in my tire after leaving Goodyear, I found there was no additional air added to my tire by the Goodyear mechanic. I now find it difficult to trust that Goodyear store (even though it may only be that mechanic who lied to me and not the management). Jack K. read more

This shop is close to my work, so when I needed new tires for my Prius I gave them a call. They had the tires I needed so I arranged to drop my car off at 2:30pm. I returned at 4:30 and my car was ready to go. The price was better than other shops, and the guys in the office are very personable. I will definitely return when I need tires again. read more

This dealership is horrible. The tires I wanted never showed up for installation. In fact, the manufacturing facility had not even made them when in fact, they were selling them out of this location. I opted for a different set of tires to be installed. When we returned to pick up the car, they had put the wrong tires on the car and we then had to wait again for them to be taken off and the right ones installed. The day after they were installed, the low tire pressure light came on and has been doing that ever since. It has now only been about a month since the tires were installed and one of the tires loses about 3 or 4 pounds of pressure per day. So, we took the car back again to these guys and they said it would be a couple hours before they could look at it. There is no such thing as "Customer Service" at this location! They do not have a clue how to take care of their customers. We will definitely be going back to Les Schwab from here on out. read more

I've been a customer of this store for about 20 years. Generally I think they're trustworthy and reliable. They've saved me money on at least one occasion, an alternative solution. By contrast, I've used the Firestone across the street for one of my vehicles because of their lifetime alignment (on the car, not the tires!) program, but they are definitely not detail people and will do the absolute minimum unless I request it. For example, I get routine rotations, pressure check, alignment checks and a little sticker to remind me of the oil change, plus they'll reset the electronic reminder as well. Firestone does none of the above without a specific request. If I'm coming in for an oil change, that's all I get. Goodyear does it all. The cons: they can up the sales pressure if you're shopping tires and they don't have a lifetime alignment program. read more

I blew a back tire out in Sheridan. Road hazard insurance directed me to this Goodyear to get the tire replaced. While I was getting it replaced, I was informed that the front tire needed replaced also. I drove back up the next day for the other replacement tire. I have been going there off and on for the last 15 years. I have to say, this is the WORST experience at any car place I have ever had. The guy at the counter, was beyond rude, and tried acting like I was a loser for not having an appointment. I then explained to him, that I did infact have an appointment, OH WHOOPS! and.... get this, his first quote to me was 78 dollars! I gave him a special unbelievable eat shit look! Then the guy tries to sell me synthetic oil, and as I explained to him, that isn't recommended after you have been using regular oil, and in any case I wasn't interested at this time. I had the guy take off the tire rotation, so I got out of there for 30.00, but how insane! The basic service at most of these places is around 20.00, but I didn't want that. I want them to really drip the oil out, replace the filter, and do what I ask. The most expensive price around was Meineke, and their premium service was 35.00. I was blown away by the rude service I had today, which ended by the original guy coming out of his office, to tell me that he had not tried to rip me off today! read more
