Looking for a good breakfast place while visiting Myrtle Beach. This was ok. It wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. Unfortunately parking was metered so had to pay. No credit card slot so you either have to have quarters or you can scan the QR. Good choices on the menu. Mediocre food that comes out. Service was not great. Took a whole for the server to ask what we wanted to drink, by that time we were ready to order. She never came back to check on us after we got our food, until we were done and she brought the check. Which was hand written and just had prices, no total, so we had to add it up ourselves and just guess the tax. So strange. Will probably check out a different pancake house next time. Olympic Flame is an old school breakfast spot that we've been going to for years. It's right across from the oceanfront a few blocks away from the old Pavilion. The food, while nothing particularly over the top or special, is consistent--which makes all the difference in the world for me. The interior of the restaurant takes me back to the 70's, before I was born. Haha! All in all, this is a great breakfast spot at the beach. Of all the places we went on this trip to Myrtle Beach, SC this was the last stop before our flight out and we randomly picked this place on the way over to the airport. I have to say, it was the BEST BREAKFAST I had! I ordered the French Toast Special (the waitress said it was her favorite), and my colleague had the Eggs, Bacon and Potatoes. The service was quick and when we received our orders, we were in heaven! The French Toast was cooked perfect, kind of crunchy on the outside with sprinkles of powdered sugar and soft and melting on the inside. The bacon... wow... I don't know if I have ever tasted such great bacon, crisp hearty and sweet.... Yummy... My colleague also loved the bacon and said she had never had potatoes like that before and they were perfectly delicious... Love me some pancake houses, so I was super excited to find this place right across the street from our hotel. Sadly though, what I thought was going to be great just ended up being okay. We came in at about 12 pm on a Saturday, and since they close at 2 pm, they were probably slowing down from the breakfast rush. I ordered the Florentine omelet- which was supposed to be bacon, spinach, and feta cheese. I got my omelet and when I started eating it, I noticed it was full of cheddar cheese. Okay, no biggie, I'll just ask for a side of feta cheese. But then eating into it more, I noticed it had peppers and onions. While not my favorite, I figured the cook just messed up. When I asked the server for a side of feta, she seemed confused and walked away. However, when she came back, she pointed out that she thinks that me and another tables food got switched. I looked over and the lady confirmed that she ordered the vegetarian omelet, which apparently I had, and she got mine. They remade our omelets, but by the time it got back out to me, I had already eaten some of my pancakes and grits, so basically had to box it all up. Then the bill came, and we were charged for the omelet!! I was super surprised by that, but wasn't going to complain. They literally delivered the wrong food to the wrong table, made us wait for 10 min to remake, then charged us. Not great customer service in my opinion, honestly. Our servers name was Ashley, and she was super nice and apologized for the mix up. She also kept our drinks full.. We still did tip her 20% of the bill; I was in the industry for 10 years and understand mix ups happen. Ordered cheese and spinach omelette with grits and rye toast although ordered with Swiss and got the cheddar instead..it was still good. I came here twice since I was staying next door and the food was good and the prices reasonable. The service its okay but they seem a little forgetful however we always got our order. Food, prices and service were both good. I had the potato omelet, which was made the old fashion way..the way I like it. The 3 egg omelet was huge and came with a side of potatos or 2 pancakes. The later was my choice and was good. The menu says only one refill per drink, but the waitress brought out a second one without me asking for it. She even put it in a togo cup for me. The service was great although the restaurant was not busy. We ate around 11:00am on a Saturday, end of November. The decor is pink and turquoise, very outdated, but clean. Booths were comfortable. So this is a COVID-19 Review and how I see restaurants following the "Protocols" set forth. They have been told to wear gloves and masks without being told "why and how". Simply putting on a pair of gloves and then serving and bussing with those same gloves on is NOT OKAY. I noticed you HAVE BUSSERS. USE THEM. One waitress I watched bussed and served and set out fresh table service ALL WITH THE SAME PAIR OF GLOVES ON. THIS IS NOT APPROPRIATE!! I was grateful our waitress was not wearing gloves when she served us. So if eat here, or any other place, watch what they are doing gloves wise... it makes no sense to wear them if they aren't changing them between activities! The food was very tasty. read more

This is your lowest common denominator cheap breakfast joint (note: by cheap I do not mean homemade food, a la diner-style). The omelet was of the thin variety (think the least amount of eggs they can use while still calling it an omelet). The grits were instant. I ordered the special that day: a peach "crepe." It was bad. Really bad. It was frozen, tiny, and soggy. The peaches (now at peak season in SC) were canned with the can-syrup poured on the "crepe." Just no. And while the crepe was a mere $5.30, the coffee is $2, so that it how they make up some of their money. But, I wouldn't even waste that amount of money here again. read more

I have no answer for that, because we were 100% pleased with everything about it. Service was quick & excellent, to which we credit our waitress, JULIA! Was on vacay for the weekend with the family. The pancakes was good and Belgium waffle. Didn't care for the bacon and the eggs that didn't taste like the shell I asked for as well as the sweet tea. Went to them like any other restaurant when you complain about the tea at checkout, you would think they would take off for the two terrible, fountain watered tasted teas. Instead the lady was like, Did you let your waitress know? I replied that she never came back after since we were just tasting when the food was brought. Her response was, Well we don't take off since they still remained on your table and wasn't removed. I paid 33 dollars and change for two simple meals where I could've spent less and all I asked was for my teas removed. Never again get my business so no worries and I won't refer a place like that.
