First off a very casual lunch spot. I got the gyro combo and it was excellent. Sandwich was stuffed with meat ( combo of lamb and beef) and the sauce was awesome although it could have maybe had some tomatoes on it. The French fries were enough for 2 people. They were hot and very fresh. The combo which includes sandwich, fries, and 20 oz drink is a bargain at only $7.94. Absolutely love this place and definitely going back. Bland food, but cheap for fast food. The service was good, yet would not recommend if wanting a gyro

As gyros go, I don't know what the standard is in this area, and I will admit in advance that I developed my taste for gyros when overseas. So, that said, I can only state my opinion based on that. I got a gyro plate. The meat was tasty, and as expected, it had the usual creamy tsatiki sauce (I probably spelled that wrong...), and it had some feta, some tomato, and some onion. Underneath that was the usual bread pita-like wrapper (is there a technical name for it? I dunno...), and there were fries included. As far as value, I think it was quite reasonable... It was under $7, and only slightly more if I had wanted something from the soda fountain. As far as quality, I was neither blown away nor upset with my meal. It was just your average gyro meat, and the piece of feta was pretty small. Lots of sauce. I did not like the pita... it was chewy and not so appealing. I did not like the fries. They were burnt and undersalted. I ate my meat/tomato/onion/yogurt blend and I enjoyed it well enough. The overall experience left me feeling pretty neutral about it all. While I'm still not running around promoting this place to all my friends, I still might go back... The service was super-speedy, and I felt like I got a lot of food for the money. The family and I love this place. The Gyros are on point, the hamburgers ar huge juicy and tastey, the fries...oh my Lord the fries...fresh cut real fries some of the best in town. The best Gyro I have had in QC so far! Small and clean place, fast service, friendly staff and value for money! The chicken portions in Chicken Gyros are unbelievable, I didn't expect that someone would serve those portions today anywhere. And the french fries are fresh cut and made everyday. Those are very filling too. Perfect sauce, right amount of tomatoes & onions in there. A perfect portion for me during my office lunch in a weekday i.e. minus fries, A meal and I will sleep back in office! ;) PS: Like other good food joints, please don't change the portions, price or service guys! Service was great, place was clean, but food was terrible. Instead of getting a dipping cup for Italian beef, they dip your entire bread in it making it mushy and inedible. Meatball sandwich was on special but the meatballs tasted old. A little Italian seasoning in the meat would have made the sandwich bearable. The bread tastes old too. Try toasting it next time? French fries were great. That's a hard thing to mess up on though. Most likely will not be coming here again. read more

Very good. I was surprised at the portion size of my gyro plate. It was overflowing with gyro meat and came with a huge order of fries. The meat by itself was good, it didn't really need any sauce. I needed a place for an Italian Beef and Gyro before I left the upper Midwest, and I was glad to see that Olympic Gyro had exactly what I was looking for. In the case of either sandwich it wasn't a matter of offering any sort of unique spin, or a different take than what I was used to, but rather just the comfort food of my youth: overstuffed sandwiches filled with thin and tender slices of beef or that mystery gyro meat, decked out with giardiniera or the tzaziki, lettuce, and cucumber that counterpoints the warm meat. Me and my Boyfriend tried this place for the first time and I love gyros and yes this hit the spot it was the best gyro I've ever tasted it had a lot of meat and very filling I can't wait until my next visit!!! The staff were very friendly the owner was really nice and the cook came out and asked us how our food was :) amazing food and amazing staff!! I took someone here becuz I ranted and raved abt their gyros. Boy was I embarrassed. Our pitas had pieces no strips and the sause was mixed with the meat. It was soggy and totally tasteless. We took it up to them.and was told we got the scraps that fall off. They would not make us new ones. Two combos $21 and we thru them in the garbage. Poor business value. read more

It was good. I got my order to go and when I got home (about 15 min ride) the gyro was soggy and greasy. The fires got hard as nails as they got cold but those were good. I am here for business so only a short time but I would eat here again if I were living here. But I would also try others first. I ordered the gyro meal and was pleased with the price and surprised fries came with it, not very Mediterranean, but very good nonetheless. I love Olympic Gyros! You get quite a large gyro for a very affordable price and their fries are absolutely fantastic. They have excellent taziki sauce and if you have room, you have to have the baklava. This is a great hometown favorite with authentic Greek food. read more

Buddy and I went out to eat on Friday night to try Olympic Gyros. I have driven by the place a million times. We were in the mood for some gyros. Got there at 5:45 and they weren't too busy. Looks like the owner and his brother were manning the register and kitchen. We ordered the gyros dinner for only $ 6.99 and pops. The place is very clean. All the ketchup and mustard bottles clean and sitting on a rubber mesh pad on the counter with napkins, straws, spoons, forks, etc. Sat down and within two minutes a girl brought out our two styrofoam boxes. Opened them up and the thing was full. On top were piping hot fresh fries that we moved over into the lids and unburied the gyro underneath. Squirt of ketchup in the lid with fries and had to have a few of those right away. Very, very hot. Excellent hand made fries here. In the two small compartments in the bottom were the onions, diced tomato, two Kalamata olives (with pits) and a cube of feta cheese. The other small compartment was full of Tzatziki sauce. There was so much meat I took 5 strips off so I could get the thing folded up loaded with the onion, tomatoes, and sauce. It was wonderful and hit the spot. My friend agreed and told the girl wiping down the table service area they were better than any other place he has had gyros. I could only finish 3/4 of mine and half the fries. Never got back to the 5 strips of meat I had taken off. Was just too full and went to waste. But I was also saving room for a piece of baklava. Ooeeyy, gooey layers of phyllo, nuts, and honey. Wonderful and only $ 1.59 is unheard of so cheap. Will definitely be back here. Only down side was their napkins are really thin and useless and need to use so many to wipe the sauce on your hands and face. read more

These are the best gyros in Davenport, the service is good and the prices are very reasonable. It's my new post-workout spot to eat (very close to the Y). The gyros are full of thinly sliced meat. I'm disappointed that there are not more options for toppings but it is probably more authentic that way. Beyond that there is not much bad or good to say about the gyros, they taste similar to others I've had and are probably about a dollar cheaper than other gyro places I've been to. read more
