Olympic Modern Dental is amazing! I have had everything from cleaning to root canal to crowns and everything they do is precise, hi-tech and professional. The entire staff is all about customer service, making the entire experience as pleasant and compassionate as they can. The experiences I have had are exceptional; getting me in fast as a walk in, calling me to check on how I am doing, working within my financial means, and really listening to my concerns about anxiety and pain. Just had my exam and cleaning yesterday. I always feel so welcomed when I come to this office. I haven't been in in over a year because I was traveling outside of the country and the Dr still remembered me and talked to me like I was a friend! Love Dr Ahn and everyone here! The hygienist Jess was awesome as are all the employees there. She took such good care of me and didn't make me feel like I was a moron in not flossing every day tho I try my best to remember lol. But she gave great advice on how to make it a daily habit! I have also gotten crowns here and whitening. All treatments have been fabulous. It's amazing how they can do crowns in 1 visit! Great new modern machine that makes the crown right there in the office! I have recommended this office to many friends. This is my first time coming to this dental office and the whole team made everything a breeze! The front office and financial coordinator were both so great at explaining all of my necessary appointments, paperwork, and bills. I didn't walk away feeling like I was going to have something come up that I didn't fully understand when I left. In the appointment I was told I had my first cavities ever and I was terrified to have them fixed. I left feeling so grateful for Lauren and Dr. Donnelly because they were so gentle and so fast. Up until going to Olympic Modern Dentistry I had always dreaded dentist visits. They were always painful and even cleanings left me feeling beat up. My old dentist retired and I waited a few years to find a new dentist, and I have had my first visits at OMD including the full checkup and thorough cleaning of my neglected teeth. OMD&O is wonderful! I broke a crown on a weekend. They got me in Monday morning and were able to prepare the tooth and make a new crown that morning--no temporary! They have the technology to make your crown while you wait. Every staff person is friendly and professional. The dentists are very knowledgable and caring. They tell you and show you what is going on as they work. They also check and make sure you are as comfortable as possible during the procedure. I highly recommend OMD&O. My first and last experience with Olympic Modern Dentistry was a disaster from start to finish. Inexperienced, inconsiderate staff with faulty equipment. Dentist was watching Fox News during a filling while her assistant (who was a student and in training) was clueless and honestly quite incompetent and showed little to no regard for my comfort. I was first taken to the xray room, which has no door or curtain and is in a very busy hallway that all other patients seem to walk through. It's also at a corner in the hallway, so other patients & staff are essentially staring right at you for several seconds as they walk to where they're going. One positive note is the modern full-mouth xray machine they have - it was very easy and provides an excellent image. But, overall it was a disappointment. The staff member doing the xrays was clearly inexperienced and had to ask help from another staff member. She tried over and over again to get the xrays she needed, blaming faulty equipment. It was clear she had not been trained well, and the equipment did seem old. We were much longer than necessary, and my jaw was so sore and tired from biting down after one failed xray after another, while a whole bunch of people walked by and stared at me. It was so embarrassing and uncomfortable. Then came the cleaning. I had actually had my teeth recently cleaned by another dentist (within the prior 2 weeks), and asked the hygienist how my teeth looked. She said it looked like I really needed a cleaning - that they were very dirty. That's a bit suspect, but I wouldn't deduct any stars from my review for that. However, the water dispenser they have to hydrate the mouth during the cleaning and filling procedures was faulty and wouldn't turn off completely after it was removed from my mouth, so I kept getting sprayed in the face with water over and over again until the staff acclimated to the faulty equipment and kept it in my mouth longer after turning it off. More embarrassment and more discomfort. At one point I closed my mouth and Dr Ahn heard a clicking sound coming from my jaw. She asked me if my mouth always did that, and I showed her that it does if I close my mouth in a certain way, and demonstrated it to her several times. I was hoping she could give me some professional advice or some info about it. Instead, she seemed amused - not concerned at all. I asked her if this was normal. She said "no" and proceeded to chuckle a bit, and then changed the subject. I was made to feel embarrassed for a dental concern I expressed, and she just laughed at me and brushed it off! This was very unprofessional and disrespectful. Finally came the fillings. One positive thing I can say is that the numbing shot was almost painless - a pleasant surprise. Before the procedure, Dr. Ahn brought in a student who was in training. I already felt anxious, as if I was a test subject. I feel sorry for whomever will be her patient in the future. She clearly had no regard for me as a person, and was acting like a teenager whose parents forced her to get a job on the weekends - she treated me like an object, and clearly should not have been working with real patients yet. All she was doing was suctioning the extra water out of my mouth, and she would always wait until too much water had accumulated and I felt like I was going to choke. While this assistant was failing at her very simple job and looking at Dr Ahn for instruction about when to suction the water out, Dr. Ahn was watching Fox News, which was blaring on the TV in the room during the entire process of doing 2 fillings. The drilling in my mouth and the loud hum of the machines made the voices on the TV indistinguishable to me, and the position of my head didn't allow me to even see the TV. So it just added to my stress level and discomfort. These people have no empathy! There are so many dentists out there. A person should really think twice about going to Olympic Modern Dentistry. They failed in so many ways on both a personal and professional level, as well as using faulty equipment that causes the patient to experience more discomfort and pain. I had an okay first experience here. Teeth cleaning x rays pretty standard. Then I had a flair up of my TMJD where your jaw hurts so bad your dizzy! Dr Ahn had me come in to tell me she couldn't do anything! She wasted my time and really doesn't know ANYTHING about this condition. So disappointed...if you want a dentist who will make you come in for no reason, not offer any help, but talks really sweetly this is the dentist for you. read more

I called to make an appt. based on the reviews. Paul answered and it sounded like he was in a noisy bar or restaurant and he couldn't hear me. He apologized and stated his name and Olympic Modern Dentistry again. I told him I wanted to make an appt for the $59 exam and cleaning and did that include scraping, or was it just polishing. He said " it sounds like you are familiar with it and it includes 1 quadrant of scraping. I asked how much for the other 3 quadrants he said an additional $500. I told him he must be mistaken, he said no he was not mistaken. I then said I'm not interested, thank you and hung up. Really?! That's crazy for someone with no insurance. read more

Best dentist office ever. I've seen Dr. Ahn three times and during my last visit, I was seen by Dr. Reyes. Both dentists are flat out awesome and I know I'm in good hands with either of them. I love that they provide same-day dentistry so I don't always have to come back for another procedure. I can't remember all the names, but Emily and Ashley in the front are always so friendly. After about 40 years of having 4 upper front crowns, some had to replaced over the years, and they no longer matched well. I decided to give myself a great present and replace them all after I found I needed to retreat an old root canal on one of them. I got sticker shock at my regular dentist in Silverdale, so shopped around on the web. I came across Olympic Modern Dentistry and was first drawn to this office because of their ability to create their own crowns, and then was happily surprised by the big savings for the service. Dr. Ahn promised me she would do everything to make me happy with my new crowns, and came through completely. She is top-notch in skill, care, and manner. I was able to get a new patient appointment the day after I called and they emailed me a link to do paperwork online, which was easy and convenient. The staff is really nice and efficient. I was checked, had all xrays taken and was siting in chair ready for Doctor in about 15-20 minutes. Dr. Ahn is really nice, quick and very detailed and explained everything that I questions about. After initial exam, the benefits girl came and went over recommended procedures, cost and insurance coverage. It was nice to know what to expect and not get a surprise when leaving. The work and cleaning was effecient, pain less and looked great. Also, There was a personal TV on the chair so I got my favorite show while work was being done. read more

When you are looking at your husbands pliers like they could be an option to relieve your pain is not the time to find out you have useless dental insurance!!! After calling EVERY dentist in Gig Harbor to try to find one that took my insurance, I happened to call Dr. Ahn's office. While they also did not take my insurance, Paige was beyond kind and said that they did have really good financing options that were interest free and told me that they were able to get me in for an appointment in an hour and a half. Done deal!!! I went in and had all the xrays taken on machines that were so high tech it was crazy. When Dr. Ahn came in, she thoroughly explained to me what she thought was going on and that she felt my crown had failed, which let bacteria back into the tooth and caused an infection. I would need a root canal, which she could do right then and a new crown... okay, so I don't know about anyone else, but I have NEVER had a dentist that could do a root canal, ESPECIALLY right then and there! I was in quite a bit of pain and the tooth was extremely sensitive, so it took quite a bit to get it numb. She was very patient and kept at it until I was completely comfortable. Once all of the decay was removed she decided that I didn't need a root canal after all! I did however need further work on the tooth behind it which was better revealed once the crown came off. By the end of everything, I had spent 6 hours in the chair and wanted to take everyone in the office home with me! They are a fantastic group and could not have been more pleasant. Better yet, I am feeling SO much better today and no longer feel the need to go searching for pliers! read more
