W0W. Just WOW. Just go and make yourself a happy camper for the rest of the day. This IS a pretty little room and bright. It is very quiet though and you feel like you're in a spa waiting for a massage. We went at noon on a Saturday and it wasn't busy at all. There was one customer already having lunch, then us...and another person entered shortly after us. Apparently he's a regular customer there and followed them...guess they were at a different location before. We all chose the 12 course meal bc we had dinner at 6PM but then ended up ordering a la carte bc IT WAS SO GOOOOD. My a la carte choices were the truffle lobster, wagyu, and uni. The chef doesn't really interact...and the girl server looked like she just woke up but was sweet in her own way otherwise. I appreciated the heavy pour of wine. I guess the chef had a tiny bit of language barrier maybe...but he did do a funny gesture with the blow torch pretending to shoot me lol. Thanks, Chef. We will def look forward to returning if ever back in NYC. Oh! The man and my son Do Not like Uni but The Chef certainly changed their mind with his selection. It was soOooo fresh and delightful! He said it's almost like ice cream and he wasn't lying!

Had a fantastic omakase experience here, especially for the price. 17 courses - that were extremely fulling - for $135/person. Was it the absolute best, most refined sushi of my life? No. Would I come back? 100% yes. The wagyu bite was very good, as was the king salmon. I loved that the rice wasn't overly vinegared, which many places are doing nowadays. Perhaps, I wish the nigiri wasn't served more simply. Many courses came with lots of toppings, which I found added flavor but took away from the delicious beauty of the fresh fish they were serving. The chefs were too heavy handed with the lemon squeezes though, imho. They should ease up a bit. All in all, a great meal, in a no fuss spot. My colleague and I walked out way too full - a sign of a great meal.

What a delicious experience! Our party of 4 made reservations online and was lucky enough to have to restaurant booked out. We got the 12 course omakase set. And we enjoyed every course. Some of the standout dishes were the king salmon and lobster with truffle butter sauce. They make the sauce in house and it paired perfectly with the fresh lobster, while not overwhelming rhetorical light taste. Another standout dish was the uni, it was so fresh and sweet. Not to mention the amount of uni was piled high. The wagyu was also a hit, maaser char broiled the meat to perfection. Would highly recommend this spot! My family had a great time and maaser was a joy.

What a fabulous experience! We did the 12 course omakase lunch and every bite was truly special. They were unique and the quality and flavors were top notch. Great service too. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Omakase at a reasonable price. We had the 17-course menu for $135 and it was a great experience. The fish was very fresh and pieces were so creative. Service was friendly and attentive in a very comfortable, intimate room. We were there for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon when the restaurant was relatively quiet which gave it a very private atmosphere.

Quiet restaurant with reasonably priced omakase. The fish was fresh, especially the uni and shellfish which can be hit or miss at other restaurants! Service was good but because we were the only ones in the restaurant, it felt awkward to talk.

We had a lovely date night here a few days ago and I can definitely say this omakase is well worth the price! I've become a bit skeptical of cheaper omakase places (this place is definitely on the cheaper side, with a 17-course menu for $135) -- but this one was great! There were several standout pieces, especially towards the end of the meal. I'd say the "golden spoon" pieces (lobster, uni, A5 wagyu, and otoro) were all delicious, and the unagi + avocado (perfect! blend of flavors), yaki king salmon, and mackerel were also amazing! I'd say my favorites were definitely the unagi + avocado and the mackerel -- but all of those pieces made me very happy :))) I do have a few nits: the first piece was chutoro, which I felt was pretty bold to start with given that it's such a flavorful piece. I think this was also the only piece that didn't taste the most fresh. Additionally, the seared otoro and A5 wagyu were both a bit overcooked. That being said, they were still very yummy, so it's not too much of a problem! I also felt that some of the yuzu pieces were a tad too tart but that might just be personal preference. Overall, I'd highly recommend this affordable omakase spot!

"Simple but delicious" With the proliferation of Omakase in the city, unfortunately you have to be more precise and exact in which one you choose because many of them are not up to traditional Japanese sushi standards. Have a two different size menus and some a la carte options. The chef was engaging, solicited our opinions, and made some top-notch sushi. What's to cheer * Fantastic, fresh sushi * High use of truffle * Value for money. It's not the least expensive place for the quality it is fairly priced. * Decent sake selection * Paced well What's to jeer * Sake was a little pricey for the quality *Decor is a bit spartan

My husband & I came here last night for an omakase dinner and had such a wonderful experience! When booking our dinner date, I thought it was an omakase only type place and it is for the most part. But they have an a la carte menu as well. It reminded us both of traditional sushi restaurants in Japan. We decided to order the 12 piece omakase instead of the 17 piece because we wanted to be able to add in some favorites from the a la carte menu after our omakase. And we figured the 17 would fill us up too much for that. Our plan played out spectacularly! All the fish that the chef served us was magnificent and ultra fresh. And each piece seemed to be a perfect follow up to the previous one. Then when we were done with the omakase, we each ordered 2 more pieces. I remember when I was researching this restaurant, I was a little worried that the ambiance inside wouldn't be nice. But it is very typical of a traditional sushi restaurant ambiance that you would find in Japan. So, that was in a way better because for about 2 hours, I got to feel like I was back in Tokyo, at the little sushi place we used to go to in Akasaka. And really, the focus should always be on the food and the quality of the the food. The sushi chefs are A+++, we were seated directly in front of the one making most of our nagiri. He was very talented and enthusiastic with his presentation, which I loved. It makes me so happy when someone takes pride and joy in their work and you can see/feel it. I can't wait to go back!!!

Came here for my quick day trip to New York and was blown away by some of their courses. We all opted for the 12-piece omakase which was actually really filling compared to other omakase places! The price point is very justifiable to the experience and quality of the sushi. A lot of the pieces have yuzu in it which I LOVE yuzu! It complimented the fish very well. However, if you're not a fan of citrus and yuzu I would note this. I also do wish the last piece was a bit stronger, it was an avocado eel nigiri but I would've loved if it ended with something more memorable. I really just wanted to emphasize the torched chutoro piece on the golden spoon because I cannot stop thinking about it. I LOVE chotoro and its the only part of tuna that I really enjoy. But this place has exceeded my expectations because the chutoro piece was perfectly torched and seasoned to melt into your mouth. It literally bursted and perfectly absorbed into the rice, I wouldn't even know there was rice in the piece because of how perfect the chutoro complimented everything. I am very sad because I dont think I can find something as good around where I live but that will give me an excuse to come visit more.

Love my omakase here, simply tasty and perfect. The service is welcoming and super friendly. The sushi courses are just perfect.

LOVED our experience here. Valentine's Day meals can always be sort of a bust given the higher price points for no reason, but omakase room was incredibly good and special for our evening. We did the 17 course tasting ($135pp) and each bite was better than the next. The restaurant is very small, adding to the special feel, and all parties eat at the same time and everyone sits at the sushi bar to watch the chef prepare each round. Given COVID I've had a harder time finding an omakase place where you actually get to sit with the sushi chef and watch the food be prepared, but getting to do it really is a treat. Compared to other omakase places, each piece of sushi here was bigger than average (I had trouble eating each one in just a bite) which made the meal very filling in a good way. I also loved the touch of giving each couple a rose on our way out. Can't wait to come back!

Always solid omakase spot with attentive service. A few unique pieces that made the experience better. I came in the afternoon so there was not a huge crowd.

I've taken a lot of friends here over the course of 10 years, and without fail, every one of them has walked out mindblown--and why wouldn't they?! The wait times have gotten better over the years (probably because people are waiting for the restaurant next door), but the food and drinks here are still top-notch. Staff is always great, and they all work so efficiently. I am generally a fan of izakayas, but there are very few that offer plates that are designed to be shareable, and this is one of the reasons the food here is so enjoyable in a small group setting. I am obviously biased and think they can do no wrong, but some of my staples that have stood the test of time: Kimchi cream udon, avocado tofu salad, salmon sashimi tacos, and the kani cream croquettes. I was so excited when they opened an outpost in Flushing years ago, but sadly it shuttered during COVID.
