Very high quality sushi, but also pretty affordable believe it or not. They don't have hulujuluwakatumnaluji fish, but I'd be concerned if they did

Omakase set included 1 appetizer, 11 nigiri, 1 handroll at the end. My favorites were the Madai (sea bream) nigiri, the Otoro caviar (fatty tuna topped with caviar). SO much flavor with the Otoro!, and the Sake (King Salmon, that had a spicy topping). I was really impressed with the majority of the nigiri pieces, and there were none that I disliked! I'm not usually a fan of sea urchin but their Botan Uni (shrimp/sea urchin) nigiri was actually delicious and a great texture. Service - We were surprised that we were the only diners that evening on a Thursday night. We had good service. There was one sushi chef and one other staff member who checked in on us to see if we wanted drinks or any add-ons. The sushi chef was working FAST (almost too fast), because we were done with our meal and out of there after 32 minutes after being seated! I wished the sushi chef had worked a teeny bit slower, so we were able to savor each of the pieces more, and spend more time there overall. I tried to talk to the sushi chef a bit, as I've had great conversations with other sushi chefs in the past, but this chef wasn't as talkative- that's ok! Ambiance - I'd call this a quaint omakase restaurant that has only counter seating. (I can't say it's too distinctive from other omakase restaurants!)

Absolutely stellar omakase experience. Place only has like 16 seats and we were the only 8 in there on a Saturday night. Super great service and all the bites were exceptional. Super great value at $68 for 13 "courses" and we went for some add-ons as well. Love it. Easy reservation and really top overall birthday dinner.

This amazing place! Nice people! Nice fresh food ! Good price! I will come back again!

One of the best omakases I've had in the city! Every piece was so flavorful and incredible quality. The service was stellar and so friendly and efficient. The place is really cute and well-appointed. So excited to have found my new favorite omakase place in the neighborhood!

Goood sushi. Good services. I really like the menu. It was a good price and the location was super cute with cute drawing. The server explained the sushi really well. Had a good yuzu drink. 10/10 recommend this place

Fantastic new Omakase in East Village. Great service from sushi chef and team. Food was so good 13 pieces for $68. You can't beat eel with fois gras and truffle or fatty tuna with caviar and gold flakes all on the standard menu!! We also did +30 add on for two additional fish pieces, wagyu and glass of sake. Last but not least got this great sushi cake as it was my birthday. Highly recommend.

Kyuubi Sushi Omakase is a hidden gem! The food is INCREDIBLE and at $68 for 13 courses the value is also unmatched. The service was great. I loved being able to see all the dishes being prepared in real time. Cannot wait to return!

    Toro and ikura

We had the most delicious omakase meal. The fish was such high quality. We enjoyed every piece (usually at more expensive places there's always one or two we dislike). Our sushi chef (Ethan) and host (Zoe) were attentive and friendly. They shared with us where the fish was sourced from and answered every question. Overall, what a delightful meal at a great value. As an anniversary treat, they gave us extra fish with a candle (much preferred to a dessert). Can't wait to go back.

This omakase spot is new to the scene and going to be a KEEPER!!!!!! Their food is so unreal, the service was so quick and the ambiance was great. Shoutout to chef ricky!! Every piece was amazing and you got all the best fish! Madai, scallop, sweet shrimp with uni, ikura, chu toro, o toro with caviar, ell with foi gras and truffle AND MORE! SO SO SO GOOD!!! Go here asap‍

The atmosphere here was a bit more lively and crowded compared to the more relaxed vibe of the UWS spot. I enjoyed my meal even more this time around. I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty. The edamame was standard but served as a nice starter. For my main rolls, I chose the salmon avocado and the yellowtail scallion. Both were very fresh and definitely worth ordering again. The salmon avocado roll had a nice touch of sesame seeds on the rice, while the yellowtail scallion was prepared with the seaweed on the outside. My boyfriend's sushi entree looked excellent, so I am considering that or the sushi-sashimi combo for my next visit. The entrees provide a substantial amount of food, and I especially appreciate that they allow you to choose which roll comes with your meal.

They share a takeout menu and it's super easy to order--text what you want to the phone number on the website and pickup in ~20 minutes :). You pay on a handheld and they don't ask for tip for takeout. I love this process and truly wish more sushi restaurants in LA adopt the takeout box. The only one I know of is hefty but also $200 each lol, making Sanyuu's $69 omakase and $78 Everything don, not to mention the $30 giant salmon nigiri set, A STEAL! I enjoyed most of the pieces but I will say I don't like their amaebi or uni at all. I'm not sure what kind of uni is used here but it's the type with a very strong mineral flavor & aftertaste that I don't find enjoyable. We're spoiled by easy access to live spot prawns everywhere and fresh SB uni. Despite this, I wouldn't hesitate to come back if I lived in the city.

The slices aren't thin, delicate, and melt-in-your-mouth as one usually gets in a sit down; they are extra thick, and I had to really bite down on some of the pieces. The rice was nicely seasoned and was cooked well + portions are also big to match those thiccccc salmon slices. To be honest, I was getting a little nauseated after 5 pieces, haha~ They were definitely delicious but I'd probably just eat 3 or 4 pieces and share with a friend! It was easy to text the number on the website and coordinate a pickup time, and the staff was friendly when I arrived. The restaurant is a little hard to find as the windows are blinded and the sign is a piece of paper on the door.

The ube tiramisu was free since we wrote a google review for the restaurant. Everything was delicious and the zucchini was surprisingly good as well. The pork was so tender. the ebi tempura were huge, and the mazemen was thankfully not spicy. However, the scallops could've been more tender and we we were all unimpressed with the ube tiramisu. I've taken a lot of friends here over the course of 10 years, and without fail, every one of them has walked out mindblown--and why wouldn't they?! The wait times have gotten better over the years (probably because people are waiting for the restaurant next door), but the food and drinks here are still top-notch. Staff is always great, and they all work so efficiently. I am generally a fan of izakayas, but there are very few that offer plates that are designed to be shareable, and this is one of the reasons the food here is so enjoyable in a small group setting. I am obviously biased and think they can do no wrong, but some of my staples that have stood the test of time: Kimchi cream udon, avocado tofu salad, salmon sashimi tacos, and the kani cream croquettes. I was so excited when they opened an outpost in Flushing years ago, but sadly it shuttered during COVID.
