Pasion Tequila always hits! I haven't been in to dine recently, but have been getting more takeout here. Their takeout portions are HUGE! Enough for like 3 meals for me. They do not hold back on rice and beans either. The chips come out hot, they use sustainable packaging, and it's super easy to call an order in. My shrimp enchiladas were amazing, and the server who helped me out was super kind and prompt in getting our order, even on a busy night. I will say- the margaritas at the restaurant are amazing, but we did not love the takeout margaritas. Maybe drinking it out of a big glass makes all the difference, who knows. Recently moved up to the Bothell area and I have been disappointed with the lack of tacos and Mexican food. I went here for my brother in laws birthday and was blown away! Such a bummer. The food here is always amazing and it's what keeps bringing us back, but unfortunately the service just sucks. We've gone here a couple times and every time the service is quick in the beginning but then falls short at the end. They seem to just abandon you. Went today, people who came in after us got their food before us, server let us know food was coming, we just ordered burritos so shouldn't take long. And then after we got our entrees, server disappeared. We sat there for roughly 20 minutes waiting for our check while she walked around completely oblivious. The server (who appeared to be a long time employee or part of management/ or ownership) took his order- never looked at me and before I could place an order walked away. She then returned with his dinner. Again didn't even look at me. I'm an overly polite person who usually tips generously. It's bizarre. I love Pasion Tequila. When I moved to the area a few years ago, Pasion was the first restaurant recommended to me by a friend that has lived here for years. The staff is so kind and they remember you after the first visit. The food is incredible. The drinks are strong and tasty. I am always excited for my next trip back here. We love sitting in the bar area. There is a indoor/"outdoor" area which is heated in the winter and has great airflow in the summer. I love to get the tacos al pastor. We went here for a quick dinner one night. The restaurant is really well decorated and we got seated right away. The menu is huge and there are so many options! I wasn't in love with the enchiladas I got, but I will definitely be back to try something different! They have a really good happy hour as well, every day 11-6, and includes beer, margs, wine, wells, and apps. Food taste was okay, but that was quickly diminished by the sticker we found in the guacamole that came with the entree. Been here a couple times, and even during COVID this place has been amazing! Food quality has not been sacrificed, and flavor is great! Service is friendly, patient, and following guidelines. We have been looking for good Mexican food since moving from AZ and this has been by far our favorite! Last night was my first time there and I was not disappointed! I ordered Carne Asada based on other reviews and the seasoning was beyond perfection. I asked for a medium cook (thin steak often get dry) and it was done perfectly. I did find it odd that it didn't come with grilled jalapeños (or a spicy pepper in general), as that's traditional. I asked for grilled Serrano's, which they had. My boyfriend (his second time there) got the Molcajete Mexicano (for the second time) and devoured it as if he had not eaten in weeks! As a group of 5 friends. we really likedl this place and have been coming for years. But our last visit was awful. The boneless CHICKEN dishes were flooded with garlic salt, especially in the red sauce. It was inedible. The now $25 PORK dishes a couple of us ordered had about 2 ounces of dry, shredded salty meat and the rest was soggy onions and bits of jalapeño. I like that in many places you get a small cup when you order a margarita and here that is not the case! Our friends ordered the ceviche and they really enjoyed it. I hate to say this, but it was no better than Taco Bell. The tortillas were your basic pre-fab shells that you'd buy at Safeway, and the cheese, rather than actual Mexican cheese like Cotija, was graded cheddar--in big shreds--that pretty much covered everything. I have a mixed review. Let me start by saying that we love Pasion Tequila. We had dinner there ordering spinach enchiladas and a combo plate. Our dining experience was good. Socially distanced, obvious cleaning done, a table set with hand sanitizer at each table. Our food was delivered quickly and tasted very good. We took some of our food home as the servings are good sized. The next day I had my leftovers of the spinach enchiladas. In one of my bites there was a hard crunch, I immediately spit out the food and sadly found two pieces of GLASS in my food. Sadly I could not eat the rest of my food. My hubby and I celebrated Taco Tuesday with take-out from Pasion Tequila in downtown Bothell and I think it will become part of our quarantine routine. We've eaten in the restaurant a couple of times and have always enjoyed our experience. When things get back to 'normal', they have a great happy hour. This place has an 'interesting' name, but don't let that fool you - the food is really good. I've been here multiple times and each time I've struggled to get attention from the host, but once you're situated at your table or barstool, things get much better. First off, they offer happy hour from 11am to 6pm which is very extensive. And the discounts they offer during happy hour are significant, such as $2 off appetizers and hand made margaritas for less than $5. You can also combine the happy hour with lunch specials, which makes this place a relative bargain. I sat at the bar for lunch and quickly realized that this place is full of locals. I consider this a good thing since either the food or environment (or both) brings these locals back regularly. It could also be the great happy hour! I asked the server his recommendation for lunch, and he recommended the "Anitas de Puerco" without hesitation. He said that in his 9 years at the restaurant he has never had anyone complain about this dish, and after ordering it I can see why. It's basically two pork shanks that are cooked to perfection and served with tortillas (the bartender gave me both corn and flower, and I recommend the corn with this dish), rice, beans, guacamole and savory grilled onions. This was on top of the chips, salsa and slaw that they served when I first arrived, and all were very fresh and flavorful. I also couldn't finish everything by myself, so I'd recommend sharing this with a friend if you order the same. I'd also be remiss if I didn't talk about the drink available at the bar. They have a very limited beer selection, which is mostly Mexican beer, Bud Light and Mac & Jacks Amber. No IPA's or any other styles of beer were available on tap. However, they make up for this with their well whiskey offering, which is Evan Williams - a very decent well whiskey/bourbon. The only thing limiting me from giving them a 5 star review is their health department rating, which is just an "Okay" - one step away from the lowest of "Needs Improvement". I almost didn't stay based on this, but I'm glad I did since both the food and drinks are solid. read more
