    Frankenmuth French Toast

We returned for breakfast and additional day while le on our trip and enjoyed another tasty breakfast and fairly quick service on a busy morning.

    Bavarian Root Beer

We stopped at Oma's Restaurant, located inside the Bavarian Inn Lodge. Overall, it was an alright experience. The house root beer was surprisingly tasty with a caramel-like flavour. I ordered the Steak and Eggs; decent overall, but the steak was really fatty. The standout for me was definitely the Potato Cheese Dumplings... absolutely incredible. My vegetarian wife ordered the Farmer's Breakfast and asked for the meat to be placed on a separate plate. Unfortunately, that wasn't accommodated, so she ended up with bacon and sausage grease all over her eggs, which really put a damper on her meal. Service was just okay. Our server was friendly, but my water sat empty for way too long, which shouldn't happen at a restaurant of this size. Overall, not a bad meal, but there are definitely better spots in the area. Ate the breakfast buffet. Food was good and it wasn't too expensive. But the French toast was the best I ever had I would go there just for that!! Service was good but she had a table walk out on her so she was frazzled. It is a bit small but I would definitely eat there again just for the French toast!!

Had the combo platter, fried chicken was not bad, wasn't a big fan the pork chop, or the vegetables medley. Service was good understaffed our server had way too many tables, but she was very nice. It is very themed with live music

Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, and vegetables

The servers were dressed in old Bavarian clothing. The restaurant is still decorated in old Bavarian style with wood furniture. The service was a bit slow. We had to wait quite a bit for our food. But our food came out hot. The popular Frankenmuth fried chicken was crispy, moist, and flavorful. The mash potatoes were good. But the vegetables were a bit too overcooked and bland. The bratwurst was good and the fries were decent. It would nice to have a few more fries on the plate. The chicken salad was good. The best part is their homemade dressing. They bring you a small container with the dressing. My friend used up the dressing on her salad. The sandwich was a bit disappointing. The Mac n cheese was good.

Incredibly overpriced, greasy food. Soup was terrible, chicken tenders were rubbery, and soft pretzel was super crunchy. So disappointing!

Even better, the servants were all dressed up in lederhosens and European gardening skirts, just like the same clothes that Snow White wears in Disney's very first movie. Moreover, the polka music made me want to dance. In condiments, the pretzel was big and shareable for us, as well as the hot soups, wieners, schnitzels, and fried chicken. Nevertheless, my mother felt like she was going back to her old home when she lived in Germany as a kid. Der beste Ort aller Zeiten!

He was friendly, attentive, and kept everything running smoothly despite our larger group. The decor was a lot of fun and really made us feel like we had stepped into Germany. It added to the overall experience and made it much more than just another dinner. We tried several different meals, including the Frankenmuth chicken, chicken schnitzel, chicken pot pie, chicken tenders, and a soft pretzel. The portions were generous, the food came out hot, and overall everything tasted very good. The fried chicken was especially crispy and flavorful, and the soup and fresh bread were also excellent. The only real disappointment was the spaetzle. It had way too much butter and ended up being very greasy, which overpowered the dish. Overall, we had a great family dinner and really enjoyed the experience. Between the atmosphere, excellent service from Mitch, and the quality of the food, it's definitely a place worth visiting while you're in Frankenmuth. We'd happily come back.

Come Hungry, but Don't Expect Authentic German Food…read more First things first--the amount of food you are served at the Bavarian Inn is excessive, so make sure you arrive hungry! We came to Frankenmuth specifically looking forward to good, authentic German food, and unfortunately, what we found here was a much more Americanized version. The food isn't bad--it's good--but if you've eaten traditional German food, you may find yourself a little disappointed. The schnitzel was dry, and the brown mushroom gravy was much more flour-based than we expected, with very little served over the meat. One of the things we love about traditional German schnitzel dishes is the rich, flavorful gravy generously served with them, and that was definitely missing here. It's hard to admit, but the best dishes on our table were actually the sides brought out and served family style before our main meals arrived. We enjoyed those more than the entrées themselves. Where the Bavarian Inn really shines is the atmosphere and service. Our wait staff was wonderful--friendly, attentive and very good at what they do. I just wish we could have been equally enthusiastic about the food. The portions are enormous, the experience is certainly unique, and the service is excellent. But if your primary reason for visiting is to find authentic German cooking, you may want to temper your expectations.

If this bar was located in Chicago as is, it would be a popular every night stop. Here, it's effing dead during our midweek stop. The only eye candy was the bar maiden which was years younger than me, but with the dim light and sleepy appearance I really couldn't make out much. Booze can be a bit pricey, but not more than a chain restaurant. They have some very fine beer taps, clean lines so the beer taste is brisk. Many of their drafts and bottles are Irish reminiscent. Think of an older Irish pub, dark woods, dimly lit, the old smell of cigar smoke, pennant flags of coats of armor hanging from the ceiling. Dark tiled ceiling, rustic lamps and paintings, while the bar maiden had said they have a pretty good college following on college night, I'm believing their clientele more that most customers belong to the late thirty's and older plus crowd. I'm told that one could easily find an older cougar on the prowl or older well to do daddy looking for skullduggerous actions. Their men's room is a shanty and should be set a blaze. Pulling up to the stall I was to use my manhood to swat away like a swashbuckler at the hordes of fruit flies coming to attack thee. At least twenty or more, disgusting; the urinal has a permanent urine stain. The toilet stall was no better, here resided just a handful of fruit flies, but from the smell and look of the water, I'd say at least a few other men had pissed and not flushed before me. YUCKY, I hate the hair raising feeling of a filthy washroom. You have to imagine that others have sat on that toilet, poor fellow.. to sit and then find fruit flies flying up your ass. Terrible. Other then that bullshit, with the right band or banging DJ, you could be JUMPING around to some banging beats and having a great time. Parking is limited to the street and there are some local parking lots. I'm not sure about the neighborhood, it may have once thrived but is now lethargic.
