    Amazing Apple Pie

What a memorable experience at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant in Frankenmuth! We had the privilege of sitting at the bar, where we were warmly taken care of by Miles--a great young man attending the University of Michigan. He couldn't have been kinder or more welcoming. We enjoyed a delicious pretzel with some fantastic dipping sauces, and both my wife and I had great beers. I also tried one of their specialty drinks--a root beer float with a little kick--and it was such a fun treat. Before we left, we stopped by the bakery downstairs and picked up a lemon meringue pie and one of their specialty apple pies--both were absolutely over-the-top delicious. The atmosphere, the service, the food--everything was just wonderful. We can't wait to come back when we visit from California. Wishing Miles all the best on his journey, and we truly hope to stay in touch. Highly recommend !!

I have to say that the jalapeño cheddar bread is very delicious, though I am very disappointed to see that they are selling baked goods that expire the same day under the glass at no discount.

This is a must stop when visiting Frankenmuth! Located in the lower level, there are several small shops with a variety of items that make for perfect gifts to give or get for yourself. I always look forward to visiting the bakery especially since they offer seasonal items. On the most recent visit, I purchased a mini pumpkin spice cake and it was delicious! They also have a clearance rack for items that are soon to expire, but more than 50% off the original price so can't beat it! I also had a warm pretzel with a side of cheese. It's not a complete visit in Frankenmuth without a pretzel! Definitely worth a visit!

Very tasty. Huge servings. Loved the vibe. Reminds me of a German Gausthaus. Beer is great as well.

Expensive and barely above average quality - we were so disappointed with this "must do" restaurant.

Pretty good. Not exactly like the real deal in Germany, but good if you are in the mood for German.

The interior decor is what you'd expect from the exterior: over-the-top (some might say "kitschy") German motifs on every wall. Authentic German? Not sure. But definitely fun. The food is decent. German-but-Americanized. Given my personal heritage, I'm likely more critical than most. And in a very un-German-like way, I tried none of their beers, thus betraying that same heritage.

It's a fantastic value considering how much food you get, and everything is consistently delicious. My favorite part of the meal is the buttered noodles, I could honestly make a meal out of those alone! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive during our visit, and they went out of their way to make my dad's birthday feel extra special, which we really appreciated. The warm hospitality definitely adds to the experience. My only small disappointment is that the pre-meal bread basket doesn't seem to have as many options as it did years ago. That said, it's still a nice addition to the meal and a tradition I'm always happy to see. Great food, generous portions, and wonderful service. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Frankenmuth.

If this bar was located in Chicago as is, it would be a popular every night stop. Here, it's effing dead during our midweek stop. The only eye candy was the bar maiden which was years younger than me, but with the dim light and sleepy appearance I really couldn't make out much. Booze can be a bit pricey, but not more than a chain restaurant. They have some very fine beer taps, clean lines so the beer taste is brisk. Many of their drafts and bottles are Irish reminiscent. Think of an older Irish pub, dark woods, dimly lit, the old smell of cigar smoke, pennant flags of coats of armor hanging from the ceiling. Dark tiled ceiling, rustic lamps and paintings, while the bar maiden had said they have a pretty good college following on college night, I'm believing their clientele more that most customers belong to the late thirty's and older plus crowd. I'm told that one could easily find an older cougar on the prowl or older well to do daddy looking for skullduggerous actions. Their men's room is a shanty and should be set a blaze. Pulling up to the stall I was to use my manhood to swat away like a swashbuckler at the hordes of fruit flies coming to attack thee. At least twenty or more, disgusting; the urinal has a permanent urine stain. The toilet stall was no better, here resided just a handful of fruit flies, but from the smell and look of the water, I'd say at least a few other men had pissed and not flushed before me. YUCKY, I hate the hair raising feeling of a filthy washroom. You have to imagine that others have sat on that toilet, poor fellow.. to sit and then find fruit flies flying up your ass. Terrible. Other then that bullshit, with the right band or banging DJ, you could be JUMPING around to some banging beats and having a great time. Parking is limited to the street and there are some local parking lots. I'm not sure about the neighborhood, it may have once thrived but is now lethargic.
