My friend and I came to this new restaurant on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. We put our name down on the waitlist, which was about 20 mins, and they would text us as soon as they were ready for us. Pretty neat! We stopped by Bent Paddle brewery to pass the time. Free parking lot was available in the back. Food was good, not the best BBQ ever. I ordered the Smoked OMC Plate because you get brisket, chicken, and ribs. I loved the chicken, it had just enough flavor on the outside and inside. Ribs and chicken had that smokey taste to them, but I like them on the moist and tender side. Meal comes with two sides. The candied smoke potato bake was amazing, mac and cheese was okay. Lunch was $24 without a drink. Portion size is just enough to leave you content. Service is quick, once you are seated they serve cornbread. Very attentive staff that were helpful in explaining the type of sauce they have. Thank goodness for a restaurant with a kitchen open til 10. I get that it's a pretty unconventional dinner time, but after driving up after work on a Friday, OMC was a shining beacon. All hostesses or servers I encountered were incredibly nice. Food service was super fast. Like had barely tasted the different sauces she explained before my server brought my Northern Pride and Cheesy Jalapeño Grits. The sammie was amazing. Juicy, flavorful meat overflowing the bun (I love leftovers), crunchy haystack onions to add texture, and some good ol slaw to sweeten it all. I didn't add sauce; I often don't like to mess with how the chef intended it. It was lacking nothing. The grits were a little cold which which would make me give this a 4.5 if I could. They were flavorful with just a hint of jalapeño, not too spicy. The cheese hadn't even melted. But they did have a good texture. What keeps this a 5 star rating is Natalie. I had stopped for gas on my drive up and threw my wallet on the passenger seat rather than back in my purse. Here I am trying to pay and faced with such an embarrassing dilemma. I explained it clearly to Natalie that I wasn't trying to dine and dash, but I would have to leave in order to pay. I traded her my phone as collateral and dashed to my car. OMC for the win! First, any place called "Oink, Moo, Cluck" is probably going to be a place I like. Second, we sat at the bar on a Wednesday night because the restaurant was packed. We were chatting with the bartender, who was very knowledgeable about bourbons. Turns out he owns the place, along with a couple other restaurants in the area. The service is fantastic, the food was great as well. My husband had brisket and I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Hubby rated the brisket a 8.5/10 - which is high for him. His only comment was he was not a fan of the sauces. Nashville hot chicken sandwich was fantastic. It's on the spicier side, which I love, but it may be too hot for some people. We ordered takeout the last time we were up in Duluth and were very happy. We ordered a lot of stuff because we wanted to try everything and we were really hungry, plus supporting local businesses, yay. -The beef fat fries were pretty cracky - just exactly what they sound like. Thick hand-cut fries cooked in beef fat. How could you go wrong with that? -I got the henny penny sandwich, which is pulled pork, cheddar and bacon. The bun was really nice and the sandwich was as advertised. Very tasty and surprisingly vinegary - reminded me of our time in NC eating Carolina cue. -Hubby got the brisket, which he said was pretty good. But he is a very good smokemaster in his own right and he did think that maybe it could have gone another hour or two but whatever. I read about OMC Smokehouse when they opened in Duluth a couple of years ago. For those that don't know, OMC is Oink, Moo, Cluck. I love it and I love bbq. So after spending our day in Duluth we planned to pick up some que for dinner on our way home. Now the hard part. What to order as their menu looks outstanding. We always tend to order too much as there could be leftovers..... We called in our order and it was ready when we arrived. They were very busy and the folks that helped us were very friendly. Our order consisted of some ribs, brisket, pulled pork, bama brisket wrap, chicken fingers, beef fat fries, coleslaw and grits or about an entire cow's worth of food. We were pretty hungry after fishing most of the day we dug in right away. The brisket was outstanding! Some of the best brisket that we have had in a long time. Having visited bbq locations in KC, Texas, VA, SC and Memphis, we have eaten some bbq over the years. OMC brisket rates right up there with the best that we have ever had. The ribs were also excellent. Tender and flavorful. I would have preferred a little more chew to them but now I'm being picky. The pulled pork was very good. Should have picked up a bun and added coleslaw but we already had too much food. Chicken fingers were also very good and the bama brisket wrap was full of goodness and flavor. The coleslaw was good but the grits brought us back to our time in Charleston. Like I said so many other items looked great. The wings, pork belly, oh my. Could be the best bbq restaurant in MN. OMC consistently has the best service. They are great about coming up new food and drinks specials to change it up. The space is great and takeout is just as good. My favorite thing on their menu is the Nashville Hot Chicken. They do it better than anyone else in town. They are very popular, so be prepared for a wait to get a table. We stopped in on our way through town from Northern Ontario to Indiana. We had Amy for a waitress and couldn't have asked for a better person to take care of our group. She was vastly knowledgeable of the menu and her recommendations were spot on! I was there in July 2021. What a delicious menu filled with options for food and local beer. My family had a great time there. The option of indoor or outdoor seating was a bonus. That's right, the elusive 5 star review! It is a score I don't had out often, but I would give this place 6 if I could. My son had eaten here a couple months ago and recommended it and I am glad he did. Place was busy and handled all the current restrictions very nicely. Everyone was super friendly, especially our waiter. He was awesome and gave us some great ideas about of the menu combinations. We all tried variations of their brisket, either nachos, sammiches, or tacos. Wish we would have tried some of their other meats but we were all craving brisket and it did not disappoint. Were this place really shined, therefore it gets its own paragraph, is their sauces. I really wished I would have paid closer attention to the names or even the descriptions, but like usual I didn't. Cool thing is they give you some pork rinds to taste test them. All the sauces were good except for the mustard based one, but I didn't dock them because I hate mustard. The one that was best is the horseradish based one, if I recall it is white. In addition to that they have a dipping sauce that has dill in it that was amazing too. We loved this place, and will be back when in the area. If there is any improvement I would suggest is to maybe add some sour beer options to their bar. read more

We heard that OMC Smokehouse was really good, and we heard right. The only disappointing thing was on the online menu there is a Po Boy and we found out they took it off their menu. We arrived and you could smell the smoke! They were closing early but we still had time to eat. You are given some pork rinds as soon as you sit down along with their homemade signature sauces. These sauces are delicious. We started out with the super nachos. This is corn tortilla chips, pulled pork, pico de gallo, pickled jalapenos, cheese sauce, scallions, chipotle-cilantro BBQ, sour cream and cowboy candy. We got the nachos and after a few bites I asked what the cowboy candy looked like. She brought us out a small cup (there was none on our nachos) this is the great combo of mangos and jalapeños! We couldn't get enough of it. The chips held up to all the ingredients and remained crunchy! The toppings were large portions and extremely flavorful. We shared the chicken fried ribs. The crunch, the flavor was on point. Added a little house sauce and I couldn't stop eating them. We also shared the barbacoa tacos. The server said there was cowboy candy on it and there wasn't but she went and got us some. Flavorful with a sturdy shell holding it all together. For side we got the Mac n cheese, finally a Mac n cheese with actual creamy cheese. We also got the roasted bacon and blue cheese potato salad. Yes it has onions (I am not a fan of onions) it was still good. I good hint of blue cheese and plenty of bacon. Our server Grace was amazing. Knowledge of product, friendly and quick to get us our food. Plus she introduced us to the cowboy candy. read more

I'll give OMC credit for their food. Almost everything was super flavorful and tender. I had brisket, ribs, and beans and my friend had the OMC plate. The brisket was tender and very tasty but SO fatty. It actually really upset my stomach and I tried to pick off all of the fat. I was kind of disappointed because I paid for 8oz of brisket and really got 4oz of brisket and 4oz of fat. The ribs were tender and flavorful, however mine came out cold.
