Had my mom not suggested Omi Omy, I wouldn't have enjoyed such a yummy lunch. Me, my mother, and a friend decided to go to Northampton, MA for a day of shopping and hanging out. We've been to a lot of the restaurants in Northampton and decided to jump over to Amherst to try a new to me restaurant. This was a cold and damp afternoon, only a day after a snow storm. Mom was excited to order her Tofu Bahn Mi, but I was really looking forward to a big bowl of hot Chicken Pho and a Summer Roll. Our friend tried the Rice Bowl with Steak and Shrimp and a Bao Bun which was delicious. My mom loved her sandwich. The bread alone was enough to make me decide that I must try one next time. My Pho broth was well flavored. The chicken pieces were slightly smaller than what I'm used to from other places, but there was plenty to enjoy. There was an adequate amount of noodles, basil, sprouts and jalapeños. My Summer Roll, while quite enjoyable, was a little difficult to eat. Stumbled upon this place when visiting from out of town and so happy we did!! Finding bahn mi is hard and was so happy they had them here. I got the chicken one and my friend got the pork. First time in since moving our daughter to UMass. This place did not disappoint. The food was as fresh, flavorful and the bread was soft for their sandwiches. They helped us quickly and the girl upfront was nice to answer my questions. Place is nice & clean but definitely on the small size. Even tho they have more space but don't use it. A small, unassuming store from outside but the interior is kept very clean and tidy with everything out on display for the customer's convenience. The staff were kind and made sure to confirm our orders. Unfortunately, the food was not as impressive. While the banh mi was very tasty and the egg was a good addition, it ultimately did not taste like banh mi. Still yummy at the end of the day but definitely did not scratch my itch for banh mi. Was looking for a quick lunch spot, tried Omi Omy and was quite pleased! It's a casual spot with banh mi sandwiches, bowls and soup. The food arrived in around 10 minutes and it was flavorful and hit the spot. Ordered: Chicken banh mi- made on fresh bread (I find this to be very important!) and filled with veggies and well marinated chicken. There were cucumbers, daikon, and carrots with creamy mayo too. I added avocado but wouldn't say it was worth it for $2.50. Not enough avocado to justify the cost. Five stars for sure! Would get without avocado next time. Chicken vermicelli- cold rice noodles topped with the same marinated chicken (yum) plus cucumbers, seasoned carrots, bean sprouts, greens, and cilantro. You can select a choice of sauce. I went with peanut sauce but I didn't think there was enough sauce for the whole serving. Overall it was very good. Next time I'll ask for more sauce. Thai tea boba- this was like a slushy where the milk and the tea were blended together. The boba were nice and soft. Not too too sweet which was nice. Omi Omy had tables outside. Hate to say it but the food is bad. It's edible, it might even taste ok, but everything is wrong in various ways. I got a banh mi that lacked jalapeño, pickled daikon... tasted nothing like a banh mi. I also got the "banh mi fries" which were just random from-frozen fries with some shredded carrot, scallion, and a few wet cucumbers thrown on top with a side of mayo. My partner ordered a fresh roll which lacked mint and could be described as a type of burrito. On top of this, the location is filled with boxes and doesn't even have napkins (just a roll of tear off brown paper towel.) Y'all can do better. read more

We visited this little spot for a quick lunch a couple of weeks ago, while we were visiting our friends who live in the area. We ordered ahead of time, and I received a text when the order was ready. I would highly recommend trying any of their banh mi sandwiches- we ordered the beef and tofu, and both were fantastic. My husband thinks this is one the best he's ever had. The fresh spring rolls were also delicious and very large. I ordered plain pho broth with a side of rice noodles, and this was the only dish that wasn't fantastic. The broth was good, but the noodles were super over cooked and stuck together, so it really wasn't enjoyable to eat. Other than that, everything else we tried was great. Drove over an hour to try this place out and Omi Omy did not disappoint! Had a shrimp summer roll which was the largest summer roll I've ever seen. Super fresh and bright and the peanut sauce was on point. My partner had the egg rolls, which were delicious. We each had a pork bahn mi and the pork was super flavorful and juicy, all the veggies were fresh and packed full. The bread was the perfect amount of crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. I had to check this place out because I heard it was amazing. The rumors are TRUE. It is amazing. This place tastes like home. The prices were a bit of a shock, to be honest. It's a bit pricey but I guess it makes sense because there aren't many restaurants like this in the area. I got the beef noodle bowl and it's the best pho in the area. It again, tastes like home. I don't even feel the need to add sriracha or hoisin sauce. That's when you know it's good. I'm not usually a fan of cold cuts banh mi but theirs is so good. It's good enough to crave. This place is very subpar. Not bad, but not good enough that I would want to come back. It may be because it is new and still experimenting, but I think all aspects of the food needs improving. Been driving by this for quite a while. Came for Pho (the beef soup). Portion was small. If you're used to Pho in Boston, New York be prepared for a small bowl. The taste was just ok, but nothing staggering like wow damn good Pho, bland. There was very little meat, two thin pieces pieces of beef, one meatball split in half. The bean sprouts were in a little bag, a tiny sliver of hot pepper , a hard lime sliver. The rice noodles were in a kind of scooped in and dropped in the bowl form--a quick swish of a ladle before serving might have freed the noodles up. Oddly also ordered French Fries, regular ones (they have dressed up fries)--very small portion as well though quite tasty--but I wouldn't come to Pho place for fries, just can't eat wheat--thus no reviews on the sandwiches. I think, because choices for diverse cuisine are limited in Western MA, that many places get over rated or the raters are somehow friends of the owners--not sure just a Yelp hunch. This fits that category. I'm not sure that the crowd out here has feasted regularly on Vietnamese Cuisine elsewhere. It looks like a Franchise kind of restaurant--in the sense that there's a format you pay for, much like bubble tea places--note they have Bubble Tea. So--the staff was nice. The place was empty when we were there, food came up in under ten minutes that's cool. Note to staff if you're reading---Make a bigger size basic bowl of Pho, throw in more meat, stir the noodles before serving. Staff---I'm sure you can figure out what a generous portion looks like. Soo happy I came here. I tried the pork and steak banh mi, and the beef pho. Personally, I prefer the pork over the steak but both were very good! Pho was delicious and a perfect portion size for me.
