    I'll begin by stating that if there was an option for a 4.5 star rating, I'd have chosen that, but there isn't so I awarded 5 stars because of the overall wonderful, luxurious, and therefore expensive 4 days and 3 nights. I'd made reservations online via their website probably 6 weeks before our stay and all seemed to go smoothly. As you'll find there, the rate per room is about $350 per night with nothing else included. I signed up for the breakfast every morning. I wanted to schedule a massage and pedicure online for my wife and me, but decided to do that once we'd arrived which turned out to be a better choice. I ought add that we arrived on a Sunday and checked out on a Wednesday which was also a better choice. A staff member had commented that 140 guests checked out on sunday and only about 45 checked in, so it was considerably less crowded than had we spent a weekend. I did receive a cellular text on the day prior to arrival to confirm our arrival, how many guests there would be, and our approximate arrival time. Note than check in is after 4pm, and checkout is 11AM. I confirmed that my wife and I were indeed coming and asked if a 2pm arrival was acceptable, and was told that it fine but that we might have to wait but that we could bring our luggage into the hotel. The property is indeed impressive, rich, and historic in appearance at first glance. A bellman took our luggage and declined my assistance, stating " You're here to relax." A good first impression indeed! We went to check in at the reception desk, and after several moments the young woman announced " it says here that you canceled your reservation last night." This was bad news indeed! She said she'd need to speak with her manager, and after about 5 minutes reemerged and announced " We figured out what happened. Your credit card was declined, so the reservation was automatically cancelled." I explained that I had received cellular texts the day before, but no mention of this. Unless I misunderstood, the room we received, although beautiful, was a slight downgrade from the one I'd chosen weeks earlier and someone else took our spot. Anyway, a bellman took our things to the room and the rest of our stay was amazing. We were placed in the " historic building/ Swiss Cottage" on the second floor. Everything was spotless and in splendid condition! After unpacking we toured the grounds, checked out several of the nearby mineral springs, and took pictures. We were blessed with magnificent weather the entire stay except for some overcast skies upon arrival. We dined at the Tavern on day one. There were a number of bars throughout the facility including in the lobby which I believe opens at 4pm daily. The food was delicious! We enjoyed a movie which we chose to rent. Note that you have 24 hours from when you pay to watch it, and you cannot watch it a second time, which i think stinks! On day 2 we each had a 90 minute massage. The spa is absolutely beautiful, refreshed, and soothing. We ate in the Crystal Dining room for breakfast and supper on day 2. All staff whom we encountered were most pleasant, friendly, and helpful. There are at least 2 firepits on the front lawn which unfortunately hit the building and tracked down to our porch and into my nostrils and lungs such that we couldn't have our doors open in the evenings despite the gorgeous weather. On day 3 my wife had a facial and we both enjoyed a 60 minute couples pedicure which was nice. We dined again at the Tavern on our 3rd evening. A walking history tour of the hotel is offered free at 10AM and 2pm daily which I found fascinating. It is entirely indoors and lasted about 90 minutes. The older woman giving the tour was knowledgeable however less friendly than other staff and demonstrated no reluctance in talking over us if ever we attempted to make a comment. Checkout was easy and a bell hop brought our vehicle out front as all guest parking is valet. I noted on our bill that we were charged 70 something dollars each morning for breakfast despite me having prepaid for the Great American Breakfast. This like occurred as my initial reservation was cancelled without my knowledge or any attemp to contact me when my card was declined. I called the business office the day after we checked out, however could not speak to a person. I left a message, reason for my call, as well as my callback number, but no reply as of today which is 2 days later. Disappointing indeed! In summary, we were pampered for a 4 day and 3 night stay in exquisite and historic surroundings. Don't think that this wasn't costly because with meals and the spa as well as some facial creams, the bill came to over $3000. One can accrue points with each dollar spent which encourages return visits. In summary, it was a magnificent stay!

    The good: the venue (gorgeous), the decor (Xmas is lovely and appropriate to the historical hotel), the restaurant and its staff is more than hospitable, in fact, downright loveable, the spa and its staff knowledgable and so accommodating, the location in the Alleghenies, beautiful. The desk staff is knowledgable and very helpful when housekeeping did not answer the phone. There is one MAJOR WEAKNESS, and it's a big one. Housekeeping sucks, people. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Not once in 5 days were my sheets changed but promised to be. Two "tidying" up occasions, which meant fresh towels, 2 16-oz bottles of water, and a tucking in of the sheets to simulate a "made" bed. In my life of 69 years staying in hotels have I have NEVER had to ASK FOR TOILET PAPER. It took TWO phone calls to have a roll delivered to my room, and the kid hung around for a tip? No way. I needn't have to ask for TP at about $500/night! The bed is attractively made but there is NO way to pull the covers up around your ears for coziness: the sheets and blanket are not long enough. I wound up sleeping diagonally in the king size bed to be warm enough under the sheet and thin down-type blanket. What if I was 6 feet tall or there were two of us. There are also spots on the bathroom walls, many undusted spots on TV armoire, woodwork, behind doors, tops of headboard, etc. There was a strip of red ribbon on the carpet outside my door for 5 days. There was someone else's dental floss under my chair in the living area, and it was not picked up in 5 days. The housekeeping department is either grossly mismanaged or they can't keep help, which could also mean the manager is having problems.

    Have been here several times over the past 7 years & have watched the slow Omnification of the resort - the unique 'Bedford Springs' charm is giving way with each visit to generic 'Omni' branding ...possibly to its detriment. This visit started off bad but recovered as the stay continued. My Girlfriend made the reservation several months in advance & ended up calling the resort after having issues online. She was assured she was getting an upgraded room on the spa side...however upon checkin we were told that (prepaid) room was no longer available and a partial refund was being given. Needless to say, the GF was NOT happy. We quickly figured out this was most likely due to a huge wedding party that was there for the weekend...members of whom traipsed up and down the halls laughing and talking until about 1:30 in the morning. I must say - after the revelers cleared out the next day, our experience improved dramatically. Our room was clean & save for the first night, was quiet. Staff we interacted with were friendly & helpful. We ate at the Crystal Room & Frontier Tavern which were great... also enjoyed the restaurant staff building the gingerbread merry-go-round as we walked back & forth over our stay. Also made use of the spa which was great. Will we come back...probably. I hope the property retains the remaining old-fashioned resort identity.

    Epic round of golf!! Keeping the birthday golf tradition alive on the gorgeous and highly challenging Old Course at The Omni Bedford Springs Resort. The beautiful Allegheny Mountains surround the historic course (c.1895) while a babbling trout stream criss-crosses through it. The golf course was not open the last time we came here in early spring, so it was great he November weather held out and we could play 18 holes right up until it got dark. Holes 4, 10 and 18 were EPIC!! Hole 4, known as "the Volcano" required teeing off UP a steep 40-foot cone-shaped hill to a blind green that drops off all sides into to bunkers. On hole 10, we had to shoot from the tee across a 55-foot ravine to the green- appropriately named "The Gulley". The Old Course's signature hole 18, "Home" is surrounded by sand and undulating terrain. Let's just say we needed to hit up Hole 19 after this extremely challenging - but super fun- round! We loved this round of golf and the pro-shop staff were helpful and gave us pointers and suggestions for how to approach a few of the final holes.

    My husband and I came here for our baby moon, it was a really nice experience but I'm not sure that we would return. We stayed on a Sunday & Monday evening and the resort was still very busy with guests. I think that if we would return, it would be nice to come during the warmer months so that we could enjoy the outdoor pool. The resort was nice because there were plenty of things to do on site that we didn't feel like we had to leave the resort property to have fun. The restaurants were good, and we were able to do a haunted ghost tour which was fun. The spa itself was beautiful, and I loved the soaking tubs. The downfall for this resort is the staff, more or less. They wanted to welcome us and see us have fun but when something was brought to their attention they didn't want to hear it. Our first night at dinner we had horrible service, which wasn't an issue because we were staying there and had nowhere to be. Our second night, we did the ghost tour but we're very upset when they asked us for $30+ for the tour, when it was listed as free on the itinerary list. I let the resort know this, and never received a response. The best/worst part about our stay was the couples massage. The massage itself was the most rushed massage I've ever had. We had the very first appointment of the day (so terrible) so of course we were 5 minutes late. Our massage was so rushed, and when we went to the resting area we noticed it was only 45 minutes long. Obviously it should have been 5 minutes less because of us being late, but not 20+ how is that even possible? I let the spa manager know about this and of course they just told us they were back to back and that's how it had to happen. When you're spending that kind of money for a massage, it should be worth it. We decided to stay on the eternal spa side (newer) and I was totally disappointed our second night when noisy neighbors kept us up all night long. Our room did not even have the option to let the fan run in the room to block noise out. Again, I let the resort know this on my survey response and no one replied. This resort has major potential. It's old, beautiful, and full of history. It was interesting to stay here but I would recommend that anyone booking in the future read this review and be mindful how they try to snag you for some extra money here and there, whether you know it or not.

    This mid-point hideaway is halfway between Washington D. C. and Pittsburgh. This Omni resort boasts a spa, elegant brunch, five (5) star A. W. Tillinghast eighteen (18) hole Championship golf second to none. The pro shop staff ( Shannon, Zac and Head Professional Jim Woods) ) are local mainstays, who reflect an indescribable yet unmistakeably Southeastern Pennsylvania hospitality which rivals any notion of southern hospitality. The surrounding Red Lake, hiking trails streams are worth the drive. The Fall here, just following October 18 & 19 bi annual aerification are beyond resplendent. Green fees plummet to $69 with a powerful cart. The mild Friday weather (52 degrees and friendly at your back on the inward nine, westerly breeze are more than one can imagine possible three weeks before Thanksgiving. I inadvertently left a putter behind in New Mexico, but was treated to highest quality Odyssey "triple track" tm 2021 putter. It was a perfect match for some of the triple breaking 14 footers i faced all week. But extremely new Taylor made irons and woods are available to rent. Tillie's (the golf club grille) is closed Mondays and Tuesdays due to short staffing, but does a bustling noon day business Listen, to be perfectly honest, 2020 and 21 seasons have been the Springs' top grossing seasons since Omni took over ownership in 2003(?) These folks work harder than nature does here. The food, the staff, the seven conference rooms, excellent gourmet muffin and coffee carts, Tillinghast golf, twenty four foot mind bending putts, and occasional distance/ yardage guestimates lead to one curl up in your fine suite ( i did not stay overnite), walking on the promenade, or dipping into the pools.

    We have made our way there at least 10 times over the years. The property beautiful. service also very good. The food however, is below average and down right awful. In my humble opinion, it is over priced frozen Sysco products that are prepared with untrained kitchen staff. Not quality nor fresh Be prepared to be nickled and dimed and overcharged in every aspect. The resort fees, taxes, charges, parking, drinks ($30.00 for a margarita), bikes, beanbags for corn hole, etc are astronomical. It's almost as they are tricking you with high prices to seem luxurious. Just overpriced.

    Stopped here for a special engagement - and this was my first time staying in the actual hotel. I've been to weddings, food places, driving by, etc - but in terms of staying - a first-timer. We were supposed to have a king bed but were given two queens which was - interesting. The rooms are nice and decorated nicely. The bathrooms have marble tile, stone tile etc. ours was clean and ready for stay. The hotel itself is very nice with different parlors, restaurants, indoor and outdoor pools, spa, and outdoor areas for leisure. Food also was good - thanks to the event we didn't have to pay but the dinner and then the breakfast the next day was very well done. Would recommend this if you have a rich uncle that recently left you a chunk, or if you found a bag of money shallowly buried in the woods. All jokes aside - on the expensive side but really worth it as a once in awhile splurge.

    If I could go 4.5 I would give them another half star. This is a charming, historic hotel. The grounds are beautiful and the walking paths across the road are a great challenge. The outdoor pool can get crowded, it's a little small compared with the size of the overall hotel so I highly recommend getting a cabana! It was great to have shade, a fridge to keep things cool and to know that I had a spot at the pool without stressing about it. The poolside service was friendly and the menu choices were very good. The hummus was fresh and nice to have a healthy choice. The lobbies and other seating areas around the hotel were nice. It was fun to have puzzles out all the time and a friendly way to interact with other guests. The Spa side of the hotel has updated, bright rooms with all the modern amenities one would expect. The bed was comfy and that side of the building is quiet. The Spa is great and if you're going to take advantage of it, it's nice to be on that side of the hotel. I'll review that separately. From front portico to bartenders and spa attendant, everyone was helpful and our stay was lovely.

    We stayed at the Omni for a conference and were very pleased with the accommodations, the food (which was excellent) and all of the amentites. The pool complex was lovely. We enjoyed the bar and food service at the pool. The gym facilities were expansive--and best of all, the spa was fantastic!! My husband and I had massages--and one of the nicest features of the spa was the soaking pool, sauna, whirlpool and relaxation room. Going to the Omni is a fantastic way to unwind, relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life...

Frontier Tavern is a great option if you have kids since it's the more casual restaurant on property and has a variety of seating with a more lively atmosphere. They also offer an extensive kids menu with crayons so they can color and stay entertained. The main issue we had here was that the service wasn't really the best. We ordered our son's meal and repeated it at least 3 times since we've been working on getting our son to talk to servers. However, our son's meal came out first and it was completely wrong. The server was apologetic, but it also made it hard when the rest of the meals came and he had to watch us eat ours. The main entrees for me and my partner also came out cold. My partner got the shaved steak and cheese sandwich, which was soggy and just okay. My meal was also okay, the pulled pork sandwich but felt like it was drowning in sauce and was also served cold. Our daughter ordered the French Onion soup and she also didn't love it since it didn't taste as good as others. I'm not sure what that means! She is only 5 but clearly has elevated tastes! Finally, we asked for some other sides and our server pretty much forgot all that we asked. He was friendly but just not the most attentive. In the end, it was an okay experience and we'd probably go again. But it's a high price point for this area and had much better service at the other restaurants on property.

When we arrived, we were greeted politely by the starter and golf course staff. However, once we were inside, the attitude changed. I can't say if this is uniform of what their experience is like, or of this is just a small blip because of COVID, but the service at the restaurant and bar attached to the golf course was dismal. When we checked in for the course, we were informed that there is a $39 fee for a rider, in addition to the golf fee of $130 per person. While I was informed ahead of time that the $39 fee existed, I will say that of all of the high end courses I've ever played, this is the first course that ever actually enforced it. Not the best value, but I was fully aware of their policy, so I cannot say I wasn't informed. After checking in, we ordered food, and was told it would be ready by our tee time. When we arrived to pick up our food, I was told the food was just being boxed up, and charged for food that had not even been started. 10 minutes later I come to find out that the food had not been started, and I'm now 10 mins late for my tee time. After asking for a refund, I rush outside to hit my first tee shot, only to realize 2 mins later that they had shortchanged me by $13 dollars. Overall, the course is nice, and is in good shape. Having driven 3 hours from Philadelphia, I would have expected a better experience. If the golf and atmosphere had been better, I would have definitely been inclined to come back. After this experience, I would not spend the time, or money coming back. While it's hard to put into words how truly bad the experience was, the overall lack of professionalism and indifference to our concerns is among the worst I've seen at a high end course.

First off, the views of the surrounding Allegheny Mountains and Cumberland Valley as breathtaking. The golf course has five par 5's and five par 3's, including one named "Tiny Tim". The No. 4, which is the "Volcano," is rated as the hardest hole on the entire course. On No. 10, you hit from an raised green over a valley to a two-tiered green with a high shelf in back. All in all, BJ enjoyed this course.
