Old school Mom and Pop Ice cream shop that takes you back to 1985. The decor is Hanna Barbara mornings meets Goonies in all the best ways. The ice cream is all Oregonian and all delicious. The milkshakes are the perfect consistency and everywhere you look something reminds you of childhood. Plus, during COVID they added outside tables and chairs a walkup window... amazing! I love this place! Fun little ice cream shop that has the perfect selection of ice cream. The inside has approx 8 spots to sit and a few spots outside. They carry Tillamook ice cream so guaranteed to be delicious and of high quality. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The inside decor has cartoon vibes with two TVs playing different cartoons. Sadly, you can't hear either but still fun. They have a spot for games which one was 80's and 90's trivia. My friend and I played while enjoying our treats. The prices are very reasonable. The only thing I wish were different was the toppings being displayed better or a list up close to choose from. They have lots but are tucked up behind the counter on the back wall in containers. Tillamook ice cream. Umpqua too: licorice. Bubble gum. Sherbet. They closed at 8. We got there at 815. They were (nevertheless) happy to have us. And while we enjoyed our ice cream, a family of four, a couple, and one other person were happily served. We love Tillamook so that's a plus for us. Dole whip reminded us of Hawaii. TALL ice cream sandwich for my son: choose your cookie and ice cream (snickerdoodle with cookies and cream and blended with an Oreo). Daughter had bubble gum on a cone. I had peanut butter chocolate in a bowl. Wife had float with caramel butter pecan. Beware though. Root beer they use is barqs which has caffeine. We sat at the wooden picnic table outside the shop. There were a pair of student desks to sit in outside as well. Inside the store were several booths. It was perfect to sit out with ice cream at 820 when it's 80 degrees out. This Ice cream shop is the most iconic place in all of Salem Oregon!!! Once you walk in, no matter your age, you are surrounded by positive vibes and nostalgia you may once of recognized. This shop does a fantastic job of welcoming customers and their staff is very friendly. Specifically Jenna, she is young, friendly, brilliant, and the hardest worker I've ever encountered for her age. Her and the delicious ice cream are the reasons I will continue to come back for many, many years to come. Very satisfied!! read more

First visit a mixed bag. They have dole whips, which is great. For $9 we got more ice cream for two people than I think I've ever seen before. That's pretty good. Don't love that they don't make their own ice cream. They serve Tillamook, which while great, just feels lazy. Anything and everything, except possibly the Dole Whip, can be made at home for cheaper. read more

This place is awesome. I moved out South and I'm SO GLAD I'm closer now! The business owner (haven't met him) really knows what hes doing here and truly seems to care about his customers' wants and wishes. There's really always something new to try here that is unique to anywhere else. They sell Tillamook icecream and have a great selection. If the price seems high to you, don't fret, because you WILL get your money's worth with the size of the scoops! Also be sure to check the freezer for icecream lasagna, choco tacos, and now icecream cakes! While so delicious and creative, I do wish you could customize the icecream flavors of the icecream lasagna (layers of icecream separated by waffle cone sheets and covered in a chocolate shell!!) instead of buying a premade one. I can think of some more great combos of flavors! What also really separates this place from other icecream shops is the atmosphere. The owner has board games and TVs playing cartoons all for kids. This is a business that knows their audience and really caters to them. I love taking kiddos here because they love it! Such a better experience than going to any chain or franchised place. If you have kids, or you're a kid at heart, this place is for you! There is a constant stream of cartoons on TVs (and not weird, modern cartoons that make you feel uncomfortable- I'm talking stuff you would have been watching in your Underoos on a Saturday in 1984). There are coloring sheets, games, and tons of fun retro artwork that make you feel like you're riding on your bike with the streamers blowing in the wind! Oh--AND they have amazing ice cream! All the hard scoop ice cream is made in Oregon and the flavors are amazing. You'll find all the favorites that you expect, but there are also awesome rotating seasonal flavors and unique stuff that you don't see in other places. They make a couple of flavors of Choco Tacos in shop (bring a friend with you, those babies are HUGE) and they have made-to-order ice cream sandwiches (any cookie and any ice cream combo you want). They also have a legit Dole Whip machine and they make a milkshake that will bring ALL the boys to the yard. My kids and I have been here dozens of times, and we've never had anything that wasn't great! On top of all cool retro ambiance and the super yummy creamy eats, this place has a great staff. The young counter crew is just as great with noisy groups of kids as they are with couples stopping in for a date night treat. Everyone is always friendly and patient, because choosing the perfect treat with hundreds (maybe thousands?) of combinations is TOUGH, but they are really patient and helpful. These tacos are amazing for $5 but for three dollars they are an absolute steal. We tried and loved both but I prefer the double chocolate one if I'm being honest.
