First of all, don't let the looks of this place cause you not to try it... It's a janky looking…read morelittle food truck that's always parked on the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive andWaughtown streets, but boy when I tell you, they make the best samosas you will ever eat... they are huge and filled to the brim with potatoes, chickpeas, and they are always seasoned just right! They are also always fried to perfection and the pastry dough is always flaky and delicious! They've got other vegetables in them other than the potatoes and chickpeas, but I'm not sure which ones they are but I do know that they are all delicious because the combination of them make a beautiful melody in your mouth. they are also slightly spicy, but you are given a spicy sauce if that's your thing... I tell you it's my thing! The owner is always kind and helpful when I have questions about the other foods they offer. He offers other items and dishes that I'm sure are delicious, but I have not tried them. I'm just so addicted to his samosas! The prices are also extremely reasonable as each Samosa is only about $3.50. because it's a food truck of course there is no ambience at all. bottom line: you have to try this food truck! It's definitely a hidden gem!

They had a red spicy sauce and a white sort of tzatziki kind of sauce on the side as well. The location isn't the greatest but it's a food truck and it's consistent. I am excited to come back and try some more stuff on the menu.

Sumela is such a gem. It had been several years since I'd been here, but everything seemed to be…read morethe same. I was craving their Mediterranean salad, and it was just as I remembered. Where else can you get a salad with pasta salad, piyaz, and grape leaves in it? Talk about so many Mediterranean flavors in one bowl! Our server was great; she was very attentive, checking in on us and refilling our waters when needed. Our food came out quickly, and it was fresh and delicious. My spouse ordered the Duram Adana, which was full of flavor, and was definitely spicy. Our only critique was that it came with a bag of chips, though you can get a different side for an upcharge. We shared the Mixed Appetizer plate, which came with hummus, baba ganoush, piyaz, grape leaves, and fresh pita. The baba ganoush was beautifully smoky, and the pita was pillow-y soft. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch spot, or a cute place for date night, be sure to check out Sumela for a great, local place.

I began working for myself around that time and don't eat out much anymore but I do occasionally still make it in when I meet friends or family for lunch. I've noticed a more prominent social media presence lately and in those posts Turkish pizza, pide, was featured. I'm in! We started our dinner with an order of falafel. It's one of my favorite dishes and I make it at home occasionally. My husband ordered the Adana Kebab and I of course just had to try the pide. The choices were only beef or spinach so spinach it was, since we had beef with the other entree. We almost always eat half and switch plates, so we can try several things and this was no exception. As always the adana was delicious, I just love the seasonings in the meat. The tabouleh was very different than I remembered though, consisting of way more greens than much of anything else so the flavor just wasn't the best for me. The pide was yummy, simple and flavorful, a perfect size for a lunch portion in my opinion. Filling but you wouldn't be stuffed. The staff were very attentive and as always, the owner made a few rounds in the dining room. It's great to see a local business standing the test of time and still cranking out good eats!

This place took me by complete surprise...in an amazing way. I was transported from Greensboro to…read morehalfway around the world for about 45min, and boy was it a great ride! Craving something Mediterranean, something international and authentic. Shish House popped up on my radar and I stopped in for an early weekday lunch. They have the usual and traditional Mediterranean dishes, but I wanted something different today. Went with some authentic Yemeni food. I ordered the Fahsah Lehm. This is a Saltah (traditional Yemeni stew) with melt in your mouth lamb that came out piping hot and bubbling in a clay bowl (see vid). You can feel, hear, smell and taste the authenticity in this dish. Spices and flavors flowing all over. It comes out with an amazing garlic sauce and a Yemeni style green sauce, almost like a salsa. And if that wasn't enough, you get the biggest clay oven bread (a Yemeni Malawah) you have ever seen. Words don't do it justice, see pics for details. This is honestly the perfect edible shovel. Tear some off, scoop up some bubbling lamb and spices, then drag it through the garlic and green sauce. Get messy...flavor the authenticity this dish explodes with. One of the best international experiences which transports you somewhere else. And it's just a small unassuming spot in the international corridor on Market St by Super G Mart. ***PLACES LIKE THIS DEFINE MY LOVE FOR FOOD, AND WHAT MORE FOOD CAN DO THAN JUST SATIATE HUNGER. The menu is not too complicated. I ordered the chicken Sambosa. I think I would prefer if it was a vegetable Sambosa. I also ordered the lamb shawarma. It wasn't bad. I tasted my friend's hummus and tabbouleh. Both were good. The service was just ok. Our waitress dropped our drinks and food off and left us alone. The food wasn't bad. I think I would come again if I'm in the area. The mint lemonade was delicious. There isn't much to the decor or ambiance.
